The entire "walkout" area was unusable and this was frustrating because the main reason we chose this property was so we could enjoy this space with our dog. The ping pong table was warped and unusable. The couch was dirty and had multiple holes chewed in the cushions, to the point where my wife sat on the couch and 20+ bugs flew up in the air. The backyard as a whole was unkept with weeds and leaves everywhere, which left us uncomfortable with the dog walking around the backyard (particularly when we encountered multiple snapping turtles in the backyard) . Inside, for the most part, was acceptable. The porch was a great space, and the house was within walking distance of trails along the sound and quick driving distance of the beach. There were a number of small items that were just frustrating due to the amount of money we paid for this rental. All of the air vents are incredibly dusty which I ended up cleaning myself so my pregnant wife wasn't breathing in dust all week. The dishwasher was still running when we got there and we had to unload everything. The quality and quantity of the household (paper towel, toilet paper) were like I was staying in a one star motel. Would it really kill you to buy some decent toilet paper? I certainly understand this is a beach cottage and wasn't expecting a sparkling clean atmosphere but based on the numerous items listed above we will not be returning, which is disappointing considering the potential of the place.
