Description:

The moment that your family arrives at the “Water’s Edge” at 11 D Mariners Walk in Wild Dunes, they will know that they are just starting a vacation that will last a lifetime in their memories. Each day at “Water’s Edge” they will enjoy the smell of salt air, the sound of the crashing waves, the feel of warm sand between their toes, and the refreshing ocean waters.

This beauty is not only reserved for the secluded Wild Dunes beach but is only enhanced by design and appointments found inside at “Water’s Edge”. Following an extensive renovation, “Water’s Edge” at Mariner’s Walk features many new furnishings, an updated kitchen and each bathroom has been redone with imported tile and new fixtures.

The highlight of the first level of “Water’s Edge” is the spacious oceanfront deck. Sunrise to the moonrise, the view from the deck is what every visitor to the Isle of Palms is looking for. Comfortable seating is featured on the oceanfront deck with a large umbrella, which is so refreshing on a warm day.

“Water’s Edge” at 11 D Mariner’s Walk has three delightful bedrooms. The first is on the first level and has queen bed with a private bath. The upper-level features two bedrooms. A bunk bed (Double/Twin) is in the guest bedroom with a private bath. Finally, the master bedroom features a king bed, private bath, and gorgeous oceanfront views.

The Mariner’s Walk Complex, home to “Waters Edge” features an outstanding oceanfront swimming pool that is exclusive for the residents and guests of this community. Mariner’s Walk is unique in that each vacation property has one assigned parking place adjacent to the front door of you vacation rental. There are common spots available for a second vehicle. There is also a public outdoor grilling station at Mariner’s Walk.

Beach Chairs and Umbrella:
The Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company will provide your family two classic wooden beach chairs and an umbrella when you stay seven nights (March– October). These are set up on the beach each morning for your family and removed each night by the crew at IOP Beach Chair Company.

Ideally located, this beach house on the Isle of Palms is an easy drive to Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant and Historic Charleston. Sullivan’s Island (7 miles) features Fort Moultrie and wonderful dining options along Middle Street. In Mount Pleasant (8 miles), your family will want to visit Boone Hall Plantation with its avenue of oaks, the USS Yorktown, Town Center shopping and the restaurants lining the shrimp docks on Shem Creek. Finally, Historic Charleston (17 miles) is the number one tourism destination in the United States and offers some of the world’s finest restaurants, galleries, historic homes and gardens.

Things to note:
The Wild Dunes Community has a strict no pet policy for non-residents. Pets are not allowed within the gates of the community.
Pool pass is needed to swim at the Mariner’s Walk Swimming Pool during prime rental seasons
No smoking
Check in time is 4:00 PM and check out is 10:00 AM.

Beach Nourishment Notice – Isle of Palms
Like all barrier islands, the Isle of Palms experiences natural cycles of sand accumulation and erosion. While most of our beach remains healthy, two specific areas in Wild Dunes are showing signs of significant erosion.
• North Hot Spot: In front of the Ocean Club and Seascape communities, located at the northern tip of the island.
• South Hot Spot: Along Dunecrest Lane, Beachwood East, and Seagrove Villa.
To address these concerns, the City of Isle of Palms will begin an emergency beach nourishment project on April 10. The project involves relocating sand from a sandbar located in front of the Property Owners Beach House to these erosion-prone areas.
Work can only be conducted during low tide, when the sandbar is accessible. Below is the tentative schedule:
• April 10–24: Nourishment of the South Hot Spot
• April 24–May 8: Nourishment of the North Hot Spot
• May 8–22: Return to the South Hot Spot for additional nourishment

Incredible Property

11D Mariner's Walk surpassed my expectations. The views were incredible and it was wonderful to have our chairs and umbrella set up every day. If there was an Academy Award for Best Host, Michael would be the winner. His recommendations covered everything we wanted to do. His food recommendations covered every possible type of food and we loved them all. This was truly a 5 Star vacation property. If I ever get a chance to visit Charleston again, I will reserve this property again.

Wonderful beachfront vacation

Second visit to IOP and second stay at Mariners Walk. Communication with the host was prompt and excellent. They provided a lot of good information prior to check in and the check in was seamless. The condo was very clean. We didn't eat-in much, but the kitchen was well appointed with dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware and appliances. Everything you need to make a full meal. The TVs were new and sizeable, and are smart TVs, which made it easy to log into my streaming services accounts. The beds are very comfortable, rooms are well laid out and organized. Good closest and dresser space to unpack into. You can tell the condo has been updated recently. The porch is a great place to drink your morning coffee and watch for dolphins. Last but not least, it included 2 beach chairs and an umbrella setup each day on the beach. It's a perk I saw in the listing, but didn't expect since we were staying in late September. But prior to arrival I received a direct email from the host, awesome perk of staying here! Overall I would recommend and stay in this unit again.

Great Place To Stay To Enjoy IOP

Located inside of the gated community/rentals on the north side of IOP called Wild Dunes, this property sits right on the beach and in particular is an ocean view with direct access to the beach only a few steps away. Really nice if you're staying in and enjoying the beach. Because of being in the gated community, somewhat hard to get out and get to the store or restaurants outside. Ammenities were good except note that there was no coffee or anything and you have to bring your own; keurig was out and we found the coffee maker in the closet and made makeshift filters but made it work. But exactly what we pictured when we booked and enjoyed our stay.

All good, no cons, minor room for improvement

Neighborhood is beautiful, and quiet. Property is right on the beach. You wake up and go to sleep with the sound of the ocean. First floor bathroom could use a bar to assist an elderly person in and out of the bathtub; washer was loud and took a long time - an upgrade is recommended; first floor bed could use fitted sheets as they come off very easily during the night and requires adjustment. Other than that the property is well equipped, and clean. Will recommend to others.

Perfect spot for a family vacation

The location was perfect. Not overly crowded but not secluded. We enjoyed finding lots of conch shells and seeing dolphins daily. We were very pleased with the ease of rentals such bikes, boogie boards, and chairs. Access to the beach was easy. Only complaint is the late check in on Saturday but the early check out the following Saturday....but this is the new standard.

We always choose the Wild Dunes area for its safety and privacy. Mariners Walk did not disappoint. Beautiful location right on the beach, very clean grounds. Nice swimming pool. We like this second-floor 3 bdrm 3 BA unit because the views of the ocean are better. We are active so we don’t mind taking the stairs up and down. The beach path is right next to this unit. The kitchen was very well stocked. The beds were all comfortable. Lots of extra blankets and linens. Bath towels were nice and thick. We will definitely stay here again.

Fall Break Relaxation

This property was so easy to rent and stay in. It was clean and ready to go ahead of time! The rental company has excellent communication. The credit for beach gear was such an added bonus! It’s a quick walk to the beach and having the windows open on cooler evenings was fantastic. We had plenty of space and there were lots of options in the kitchen. The grill on the property worked beautifully and nightly crabbing was a highlight. We had lots of extra towels and utilized the washer and dryer. It was a great, relaxing week and we look forward to visiting again! Tiny requests that would help: a digital clock in the master; our kid is an early riser and he kept the clock ;-), a regular sized colander, and a steamer basket for the kitchen. None of those items are necessities, but would be great additions. Thank you for sharing your home with us! The space was thoroughly enjoyed! I miss the sound of the waves from the deck!!

Unfortunately, the mattresses we’re very, very soft and uncomfortable, the washing machine is very loud & dryer took longer than expected to dry items. Great beach access, easy check in, appt well supplied. But Whole complex seemed tired, needs love. Appreciate quick response to maintenance issue. Not used to having no housekeeping of any kind. Check out requirements seemed unreasonable. Isn’t housekeeping coming in behind us to empty trash, etc? Just seemed odd. We did enjoy the location, the set up & the whole beach experience tho. Clean and well maintained!!

The property was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed or wanted- probably better stocked than my own kitchen at home. Great place for families- we loved playing board games/cards at night! Plenty of room for our family- 3 adults and 4 children! I loved the fact that my children could walk back and forth from beach to condo/pool safely. Only one negative- take bug spray- our last night, the mosquitoes were really bad outside and the next day we were eaten alive trying to pack the car- it was strange- they hadn’t been an issue at all earlier in the week.

Wonderful accommodations

My husband, daughter, 3 sons, and 2 daughters-in-law stayed for a week. Fabulous location, well-stocked, great complex. The sofa bed had a weird air mattress that we never did figure out, but worked around it. Would return.

Great place for the family

Our family of 5 with two teens and a preteen found this rental to be very comfortable. It is located right on the beach with great views. The beach area always has a lot of area both in low and high tide. North and south of the area there has been some beach erosion but here it is great. The unit itself has a full size washer and dryer. Great for the family. There was also plenty of kitchen utensils pots and pans etc. The area of Wild Dunes is pleasant, quiet, and an easy quick drive into Charleston. The rental company checked on us and it was great to have an electronic door lock so we didn't have to go into the office for keys. We recommend the rental for larger families as there is plenty of beds and space

wonderful condo on the beach!

We rented this condo for a family "girls" trip and had a fabulous time! The condo was very clean and updated. We loved the layout- 3 separate bedrooms, each with its own bath. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the family room and dining area. The balcony had a gorgeous view of the ocean and so did the master bedroom. We loved being able to walk right out onto the beach and we also loved having a pool right outside our door. Very convenient location- easy to get to Charleston and Sullivans Island and all the fabulous restaurants. We would definitely go back!
