CoonRapids boasts numerous trails for walking, running and riding. There are three parking areas along the CoonRapids Riverside Trail. A parking lot at 320th Street near Velvet Avenue is the most northern access point. The most popular place to get on the trail is at Riverside Park. The park is located off of E63 on the northeast edge of CoonRapids just east of the Sumpter Avenue Bridge. At the southern end of the trail, trail users can park in a lot off of Main Street at the east end of CoonRapids
Whiterock Conservancy

Whiterock Conservancy is 5,500 public acres along the scenic Middle Raccoon River Valley near CoonRapids. You can choose from over 40 miles of single track mountain bike trails or more than 20 miles of trails tailored for horse riding, but of course, all of those trails are open for hiking as well. While you are here, plan to fish from any of the 10 fully stocked ponds or schedule a guided ATV ride through the lush savannas, rolling pastures, wetlands, riverside bluffs and native prairies that make up Whiterock Conservancy. Another great way to tour the scenic conservancy is down the Middle Raccoon River in a kayak or canoe. Stay for a few days in any of the local RV, rustic or tent campgrounds in the area.
