Die Konrad Cottages mit zwei eigenständigen Cottages befinden sich am Welcome Beach, einem der schönsten und ruhigsten Strände der Sunshine Coast. Und zur Zeit füttern gerade Buckelwale am Welcome Beach!

Spazieren Sie am Sandstrand entlang, erkunden Sie die Gezeitenpools bei Ebbe, entspannen Sie sich auf einem Liegestuhl in der Sonne oder beobachten Sie einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang am Lagerfeuer am Strand.

Wasserliebhaber werden unseren schwimmenden Schwimmer genießen (der Schwimmer ist draußen!), Boogy-Boards, Skimmer-Boards und mehr. Oder genießen Sie eine Partie Badminton, Volleyball oder Krocket in unserem privaten Garten. Und für alle ist die Aussicht hier am Welcome Beach immer erstaunlich!

Quiet cozy escape

Our small family and two dogs spent a weekend on the beach front. The house was able to comfortably accommodate both play and lounging without feeling on top of each other. The host, Ray, was very helpful and communicative while problem solving a hiccup in our arrival. This stay included everything we could want and we hope to come back soon!

Location Location Location

What a great location. So enjoyed it. This is an older cottage with all the quirks associated with it, but it is clean and well suited for a couple or a family. The host is so friendly and accommodating. This feels very remote, but it is relatively close to Sechelt so shopping for food or going to out to meals is not difficult. Would definitely stay again - hope to do so soon.

Great girls trip

We had a lovely two night stay at this cabin. Ray was a fantastic host and the view is spectacular! Even though it was a grey winter weekend, the wood fireplace was cozy, and the cabin clean and extremely comfortable. I will be back for sure!!

Great weekend getaway

Really enjoyed our weekend getaway. The hottub and fireplace were really nice and made the place extra cozy. Kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Ray was very responsive and active. He phoned me directly to let me know that we could do a later check-out if we wanted to. but then later phoned me to let me know this was no longer available due to a back-to-back booking. Communication was really great. Only negative feedback is that the sheets in the master bedroom had a faint scent to them. Not sure if they were not washed or just had some remaining odor from the previous guest

Easy access to the shoreline directly across from the cottage with seating at the high tide mark. Fire pit and lots of supplied fire wood. Hot tub was comfortable. Great stay with family

Lovely location right on the beach, enough room for 4 adults and 2 children, hot tube was a big hit, fire on the beach was perfect, and great September weather on the Sunshine Coast. Would have been 100% if there was 2 bathrooms with the 2 grandchildren it was busy room with baths and everything but we knew that before we booked.

Serene and magical

Ray was a lovely host: prompt to reply to messages, flexible when we realize we had booked the wrong dates, and welcoming when we arrived. The cottage was cosy and homey and spotlessly clean. The location was simply magical. We had the beach to ourselves almost all the time, and our dogs had a great time exploring. In less than 24 hours, we saw a river, otter, catching and eating fish, and then denning under an old Douglas fir, a doe and two newborn fawns nursing on the beach, Eagles, mergansers, crows using the rocks to smash clams, seals, and much more. We will definitely come back. Thanks again, Ray!

Just what we needed!

My family and I were looking for a dog friendly vacation and this place fit the bill perfectly! The cabin is very well equipped compared to other VRBO properties we’ve stayed in and very clean. Ray was very helpful and gave thorough instructions on various aspects of the cabin. The views are stunning. The hot tub is relaxing. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. We had the beach to ourselves. What more could you ask for? We loved this cabin and our dog came home exhausted from running on the beach. We would definitely stay here again and will happily recommend it to friends.

Perfect Beachfront getaway

This cottage is perfection. Old school & well loved beauty with gorgeous ocean views. Walkout right to a lovely cove for walking and exploring. Lots of logs for sitting and great for dogs. The cottage had plenty of space inside & a very well equipped kitchen. Everything you need from utensils/dish ware to the many pots , bowls, ovenware etc are there. Entertainment options with Roku tv if you get tired of the view (you won’t…). The owner is lovely & was so great with communication & directions. We couldn’t have had a better time and will hopefully be back again soon.

Hidden Gem

This was an amazing spot to stay for 3 nights over New Years! The cottage is situated just across the road from the ocean with a fantastic view to wake up to every morning. The wood fire place added that "rustic mountain" feel and the hot tub was super relaxing at the end of the night with crashing waves in the background. As another reviewer stated, the cottage has a "visiting your grandparents" vibe. Some aspects are a little dated and need some attention however that didn't concern us at all. The kitchen is fully stocked (no food items though) to be able to cook whatever you want. We bought some crab from the Sechelt fish market and had a feast on one of the nights. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience

We stayed for a week through the Christmas break and we had a very cozy and relaxed time. Property manager gave recommendations on hikes that is suitable for our two dogs + infant group. Detailed walk through at check-in, located right at ocean front, property is well equipped for daily usage. Would recommend to friends to book at this property.

Cozy cottage, great location, fantastic view

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. Het uitzicht vanuit het huisje is fantastisch. Relaxant in de tuin of op het strand. Het huisje is prima en heeft alles wat we nodig hadden. Ook nog een lekkere hottub erbij. De eigenaar is ontzettend behulpzaam en vriendelijk.

Growing up spending time outdoors, camping or at the cottage with family, created many fond memories for me, sometimes just with my parent and my younger sister, and other times together with the whole extended family. Through these experiences, usually by a lake or the ocean, I understand how special these vacation times can be, bringing family closer together.

Here at Konrad Cottages I make it my goal to create the care free, comfortable, home away from home, were you our guests, can create special memories that will last a lifetime -- be it from the green grass for children to take first steps, providing beach toys, setting a campfire on the beach for first s'mores, or by offer helpful local knowledge on the great activities to choose from her on the Sunshine coast.

My parents, Peter and Maryanne Konrad, were looking for a vacation property with a safe accessible beach for swimming and boating for children and grandchildren, and for my sports fishing father who due to illness, had limited mobility. In the spring of 1984, when they saw this property on the quiet esplanade at Welcome Beach, they know their search was over.

Over the next 20 years they enjoyed gathering family with them each summer at the cottage, to enjoy family times, swimming, boating, and fishing. The property changed over those years. We added a second bedroom to the Beach Cottage first, then built the Chalet in 1992, to make room for our growing families.

My children, Theresa and Christine, and I have know this--peace of heaven--since they were born. Spending several weeks at the cottage each summer, as well as, many weekends each year, many wonderful family memories have been created here at the cottage.

With the love we had for the Halfmoon Bay area, and the special spot on Welcome Beach, my parents had discovered many years before, after the passing of my parents, in 2004 we took a leap of faith, and took over the property, and since then, it has been our pleasure to shared it with other families, couples, and groups, as a vacation rental.

The Sunshine Coast has long been a destination for cottagers, dating back to the turn of the century when the Union Steamships used to bring the wealthy ‘summer people’ up to the area, dropping them in Gibsons, Selma Park, Trail Bay, Halfmoon Bay and Pender Harbour. The tradition still exists, but these days its usually people traveling by car and looking to jettison their everyday cares for a while where life goes at a slower pace, nature is ever-present, and old-fashioned activities that promote adventurousness and togetherness dominate. Konrad Cottages offers one of the best cottage/vacation rental experiences in Coastal British Columbia. Located in Halfmoon Bay, in a neighborhood referred to as Welcome Woods, our cottages are right on the water in one of the Coast’s most beautiful ocean bays – Welcome Beach.

Welcome Beach is one of the few truly sandy beaches on the Coast, and is one of the better-kept secrets too! Limited parking for day visitors and no major facilities means that crowds typically head to Davis Bay or Porpoise Bay Park. Meanwhile you wake up in your own beachfront cabin and step right onto the beach any time you like, with all of the amenities you need handy and close by.

You can walk the beach (it’s great for off-season storm watching too), swim along the shore or out to the float, put in your kayaks or small rowboats, or just sit on the beach and soak up some sun and watch the marine traffic go by while birds like the red-beaked oyster catcher, blue heron or bald eagle hunt along the shore and shallows.

You can choose to stay either in the Cottage, a 2 bedroom bungalow with level beach access, or a 2 bedroom chalet nestled in a cedar grove, with a sunny spacious deck and views of the ocean. We hope to see you soon.
