Welcome to Whale's Tale - where you can spin your own tale, or make memories to tell others about when you get home. This dog friendly (but please not on the furniture) 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath is tucked away almost privately at the Maravilla resort condominium complex on Galveston's famed Seawall Boulevard. Towards the west end - so away from the hustle and bustle, but only minutes away when you want to go to any of the great shops, eateries, galleries, museums, or historical areas.
Each of the two bedrooms has a queen bed. In the hallway alcove you'll find a set of true twin bunks tucked away. The fully equipped and fully stocked kitchen is ready for you to make all of your culinary delicacies , warm up your leftovers from any of the great Galveston restaurants, or make popcorn for family movie night in the living room. From the living room and master bedroom you can access the balcony that overlooks the largest of the 3 pools at the complex. There is also a hot tub, fitness room, and dog park if you're bringing Fido or Fifi with you! There is a $75 nonrefundable per dog fee - but well worth having your "man's best friend" with you and cheaper than boarding! We are pleased to provide starter supplies of toiletries, paper products, dish cleaning options and coffee. These are intended to get you started until you make your shopping list, find the nearest grocery store, etc. The laundry facilities are not inside of the condo - but just next door. They are shared with other guests at the property - and are pay per use, accepting debit and credit cards.
The Maravilla charges $10 per vehicle per day up to a maximum of $70 per vehicle per month as a parking, resort, amenities charge. Please ensure you pay this fee upon arrival to ensure that you have a parking permit for your vehicle, and that you receive your wristbands that identify you as registered guests at the property. If the office is closed when you arrive there a QR code posted so you can direct pay for your parking and obtain the permit the following day.
We provide self check in instructions and allow our guests to enjoy their vacation - but you will have our contact information and if there is anything we can do to make your stay better - just let us know. We love celebrations - so if you'd like our staff to coordinate decorations, a cake, flowers, etc. for a special occasion - just let us know. We arrange these things for the cost of the items plus a nominal $25 fee. Definitely worth it when surprising someone for their birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or even a proposal!
My Galveston Getaway provides starter supplies of toiletries, paper products, dish cleaning options and coffee to get our guests started and situated before making their shopping lists and determining which shopping option works best for their group. These supplies are not intended to last your entire group the duration of your stay - but to get started!
We also provide one bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth for each guest that the unit sleeps, along with 2 dish towels. Should you wish to have additional housekeeping services during your stay or to have linen swaps during your stay, these can be arranged with advance notice upon request at an additional cost.
There is currently construction going on in one building of the complex. This does not affect the condo you are reserving from us or any of the amities of the complex.
The Maravilla complex is upgrading it's aquatic facilities. Through March, 2025 - two pools and one hot tub will be closed - the heated pool will remain open but the resort pool, beach-entry pool, and hot tub will be closed for upgrades and updates and grand opening of the new aquatic facilities is expected April 1, 2025 and that's no April fools' joke!
After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.
