The space:
Our home is a combination of modern amenities -central AC, 6 bedrooms. 5 1/2 bathrooms, hot tub- and historic beauty-stained glass, built-in window seat, plaster arches, a grand stairway.
A large kitchen in the main house opens to a stunning deck and private garden framed by trees and the 1895 carriage house. The courtyard recreation area extends to an indoor game room set up with pool and foosball tables, and dining area and plenty of comfortable seating!
Step back in time when you enter this craftsman built Victorian home with its original amber woodwork and golden fir floors throughout! Each bedroom offers comfort and beauty.
The garden in back is exclusively for guest enjoyment with a hot tub, fire pit, pergola, plenty of seating, grills, all in a fenced in yard.
Both homes as well as the front, side, and back yards are all for guest use only.
Note: There is a new electric 50 gallon hot water heater in the main home and a 30 gallon hot water heater in the carriage house. These have been sufficient for most of the large groups I host, but if guests take long showers one after the other, the hot water heaters may have trouble keeping up with demand without a break in which the supply can be replenished.
Location:
Located in the tree lined, historic, Old North End, which was built during the Cripple Creek Gold Rush period, this neighborhood has homes loaded with character and custom carpentry.
The Old North End is less than one mile from Monument Valley Park and Colorado College Campus, 1 mile away form the 1898 Patty Jewett Golf Course, under 2 miles from Downtown Colorado Springs, a 12 minute drive to Garden of the Gods, 15 minutes to the Broadmoor.
Getting Around:
We are 1/2 mile from the north entrance to Monument Valley Park and the Pikes Peak Greenway- a 16 mile walking/biking trail that connects to many other trails throughout the Springs. This area is great for walking, biking, or driving.
Home is 1 mile from CC, 2 miles from downtown.
Great hiking trails at Pulpit Rock and Garden of the Gods are within 4-5 miles from the home.
We are about 9 miles from Cheyenne Mountain-home to our fantastic zoo as well as hikes and sight seeing for all levels-truly an amazing place!
Other things to note:
Whenever possible we try to take care of maintenance between guests. However, if a maintenance issue arises during a guest’s stay, we will always text the guest to notify them of our access to the unit. A repair person in the unit will always be accompanied by host or manager. We have exterior motion sensitive cameras and doorbells located on the front, back and basement doors of the main house. One camera is near the side door of the carriage house, and one is by the garage door of the carriage house.
