At Ease -

Crystal Beach is a beautiful community located in the heart of Destin. You are just a few steps from the sugar white sand beaches and emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Guests are a short stroll from several wonderful restaurants and shops that Crystal Beach offers. Head due north one mile to visit the Destin commons for all the shopping and dining you could ever need! The Destin Commons has a bass pro shop if dad forgot his fishing gear and the state of the art AMC Destin Commons Theater! Crystal beach is near the heart of Destin where you’ll find go kart tracks, bowling alleys and the big kahuna water park. (About 5 minute from this home) roughly ten minute down the road is the Destin harbor-home to the largest private charter fishing fleet in the southeast! Enjoy deep sea fishing excursions, dolphin cruises and even pirate cruises for the kids!

First Floor: Living Room with Queen Sleeper Sofa, Dining Room, Kitchen, King Bedroom, Full Hall Bathroom, Laundry Room.

Second Floor: King Master Bedroom with Bathroom, Bedroom with Two Full Beds, Full Hall Bathroom.

Third Floor: Loft with Queen Sleeper Sofa.

Long Weekend

Property staff were good to communicate with. Pool had several leaves and debris in it upon our arrival. We paid for the pool and hot tub to be heated and it was only warm/ hot 1 out of our 4 days we were there. Good location close to the beach access. Overall, great stay other than pool heater.

a Little below average

Air condition didn't work. Hot tub didn't work Fridge wasn't very cold. Kitchen didn't have much to work with. Pool was nice. The house was just not a nice as I would of liked to be. Dealing with Ocean Reef was useless. They told me they would give me portable AC units. They never came, air was fixed Thursday night it was 77 in the house the whole week.

Okay, but not the best for little kids.

The house was okay. I had to clean up quite a bit. The vacuum left really crisp lines on the carpet when I used it, and they weren't present when we got there, so that leads me to believe it probably wasn't vacuumed before we got there. The filter to the AC unit was in the upstairs hallway, and the metal part looked pretty dirty, so i pulled it open and the filter doesn't look like it has been changed in probably 2-3 years. Probably why there is a sign on the thermostat saying not to turn it down below 72 or the unit will freeze up, so i vacuumed the filter. But it was a decent house. The kitchen was stocked well. The pool area is nice. There are no directions on how to operate the hot tub, so you kinda figure it out. There was no gas in the grill, so I called the management company, and they said I could exchange it, and they would reimburse me. That isn't what I want to do on vacation, so it's probably still empty. My biggest complaint is it's a pretty decent walk to the beach, and I wouldn't recommend taking any kids under 5 here because of it. Also, this whole neighborhood has to share probably an 80-foot stretch of the beach in the small "public" beach area. While the condos on each side rope off their areas and were essentially empty. From what I understand, this is a problem with Destin as we haven't experienced it anywhere else in Florida, and we won't go back to Destin because of it. Overall, I would say this place is a 3/5. Probably better for older kids or adults.

Great House, Great Location

We've been coming to Destin and staying in this neighborhood for 20+ years (its the third different house we've rented on Matthew Blvd). The location is perfect if don't want to stay in the high rise buildings. With easy beach access, great restaurants and stores all within walking distance, this location is ideal. On those days when we want to visit Silver Sands or Destin Harbor, we are centrally located, making either an easy drive. The house was clean as was the pool. The beds are comfortable and we had plenty of towels. The kitchen has plenty of glasses, silverware, plates, etc...The coffeemaker, dishwasher, washer and dryer all worked well. The house furniture is comfortable as is the pool furniture. Things to note, the house only has one access point to the pool (through the laundry room). All other gates into the pool area are locked via a padlock. The access door has a loud alarm which must be re-set from inside each time you open the door. This is a great safety feature for people with small children, but was not necessary for us (5 adults). Resetting the alarm was easy (pushing a button), but not convenient when entering the house with your arms full. We were surprised by the lack of or shortage of some items (hand soap, coffee filters, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, salt/pepper). Overall, our experience was positive and we would recommend "At Ease".
