Mostly Wonderful
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Castle. We loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom, parking was plentiful, location worked well for us, and the pool table and sauna were great to have!
Biggest damper was check in. Check in time is 5:00 (which already felt late, but especially late since our flight came in before noon). We attempted an early check in around 4:00 but we were told by the cleaning lady that she had just arrived and it was only her. She said she'd be finished by 5:30. We hung out at the beach until 5:30 and went back to the house when we got a call saying they wouldn't be ready until 6:00. We absolutely wanted a clean house so of course we were willing to wait, but we were all frustrated. We opted for just hanging out in our cars in the parking. Shortly after 6:00 the cleaning lady opened the door and started throwing stuff out into the parking area. We decided to give her some space and avoid any encounters so we drove around the neighborhood until she left after 6:15. Not the greatest start to our stay. But at least the house was clean.
Two other cons--1) no curtains or blinds in the upstairs living area. Beautiful view, but when the sun shines in it is very bright and gets really warm. 2) No A/C which was very desirable when that afternoon sun started shining in.
When we checked out, we were all happy with the house and our time there. Just wanted to mention the late check in for others to be prepared for a delay.
