Christmas getaway

We had a fantastic time. Condo has high end finishes with beautiful ocean front views. Lovely beach walks just steps away and quick trips into St Augustine to see the Christmas lights. Condo was tastefully decorated for a beach Christmas. Special touches like the Christmas decor, custom cookies and a greeting and tour by the owner made it a truly special stay. LOVED IT!!!

We really loved our stay at Sand Dollar! The property host, Mike, was helpful and an excellent communicator. The condo was super clean and comfortable. The beds and showers were great! The best part was waking up, having coffee, and enjoying the ocean and sunrise on the deck. Staying right on the ocean is the most magical experience. This was a great location for daily beach walks, Publix and the fishing pier in walking distance, and excellent restaurants nearby. Another Perfect Day in Paradise

this wasn’t my first experience at staying at the property owned by Mike and Karyn. I will always be a repeat customer to one of the finest places in North Florida. Renovated unit was gorgeous!

We have stayed at this condo several times now but I will have to say that this owner has thought of everything. Frequently utilized condiments were stocked, beach towels, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, beach toys, coffee filters, cleaning supplies and plenty of TP too :). The owner left hand made beach themed cookies (such a nice touch!) and the place was decorated top notch. They thought of everything to make the stay convenient.

We absolutely loved our stay. The condo is beautiful and the Atlantic equally so. Enjoyed sunrises and full moon rise over the water. This spot is even better than the online photos. Another fabulous stay!

This was our third stay at either Sand Dollar or C-Scape so, obviously, we keep coming back. The fabulous condo offers a spectacular view, a perfect outdoor space, access to a beautiful walkable beach and easy access to a grocery store and St. Augustine. The condo was super clean and has literally everything you need (I have yet to stay anywhere else that is as well equipped as this one). You could literally just bring a toothbrush and a bathing suit and you would be all set. Communication with Mike was great and the checking/checkout process was easy. Already looking at dates for next year!

Vilano Beach Dream Birthday

My husband and I can see why Mike is a super host. This condo was well appointed, close to everything and quiet. So close to the beach you can hear the waves from your bedroom (and I don’t mean with the windows open). Everything we needed was provided beach wagon, beach chairs, sand toys, umbrellas, grill, even a foot pump for our mat. Beautifully decorated, kitchen appliances were top grade and all supplies for kitchen you needed. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed for a week and it was simply perfect. Would be great for a family also. If you see this condo listed I would not hesitate you cannot go wrong here. Thanks again Mike and Karyn for sharing this condo.

Your hosts, Mike & Karyn Carter, purchased their 2nd beach getaway "Sand Dollar" in Seawatch Condos in 2022. Mike is a real estate broker, property rehabber, and real estate investor for the past 33 years and Karyn is a professional photographer. They have 3 adult children, Josh, Dalton, and Alexa, along with 2 border collies, Scout and Daisy. Being a prime unit in the building with its top floor location, and overlooking the pool and the ocean, plus being just a few steps off the elevator, the unit has incredible potential as a family vacation spot and short-term rental for guests. Since the property was needing complete renovation from the somewhat dated 1980's decor & furnishings, Mike & Karyn put their renovation and design vision to work in creating a fabulous, modern 2nd home to share with their guests. From ceilings to floors and everything in between, the property has been completely updated with the most popular finishes and neutral colors throughout, with a "Bahamian/Caribbean" vibe for relaxation. By removing a somewhat restricting wall in the kitchen, removing the old-style cabinet soffits, adding taller craftsman cabinets in bright white with brushed bronze hardware and "Renaissance" granite, and creating a unique coffee bar, the entire kitchen took on a whole new look, while opening it up fully to the dining room. By utilizing "Alabaster" interior walls and bright white trim, the space feels so much more open than before and provides a much lighter & brighter environment. Having previously owned a single-family, oceanfront home 7 miles north of Seawatch in South Ponte Vedra Beach, and being battered by hurricanes repeatedly, Mike and his elder brother decided to divest from that property due to its storm exposure, and Mike decided to reinvest in a much more low-maintenance property in Seawatch. The community is slightly further off the beach than his prior property in S. Ponte Vedra, yet still direct oceanfront without the need for seawall protection, and much closer to the conveniences of Publix, local restaurants, boat rentals, and downtown St. Augustine. "Sand Dollar" is much more of a turn-key property, with shared risk of storm exposure, shared maintenance cost with 26 other homeowners, plus the added amenities of the swimming pool, tennis/pickleball court, beach walk-over, covered parking and ample guest parking. Reasonable HOA dues and a smaller condominium community are additional benefits, as well as being a quieter environment, away from the touristy and "Spring-Breaker" communities in other areas of St. Augustine. The property is just 35 minutes from the Carter's primary residence in NW St. Johns County, so it's any easy trip for daily use and for servicing the needs of their guests as needed.

The unique benefits of this community are the smaller size, with only 27 total units, the large community pool, tennis/pickleball court, beach walk-over with bench seating, building elevator, less populated beach, covered parking & additional guest parking, and super-convenient proximity to grocery, restaurants, and downtown St. Augustine. As far as our unit itself, the completely renovated interior, large 13 x 13 covered balcony, split-bedroom floor plan, and top floor location just steps from the elevator, with panoramic views of the pool and beach are all unique and desirable features for our guest's enjoyment.
