Kanai A Nalu is a conveniently located low rise oceanfront condominium complex on the shores of Maalaea Bay Maui, that offers a quiet small resort experience with amazing views and access to an oceanfront swimming pool and outdoor gas BBQ grills. All within walking distance of the expansive 6 miles of Sugar Beach, Maalaea Small Boat Harbor, Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, and Maalaea's shops, restaurants and bars. Kanai A Nalu is located in Maui's central valley which is around a 25 minute drive to Lahaina on the West side, a 15-25 minute drive to the South shore beaches of Kihei and Wailea, and about 25-30 minutes from Maui's North Shore.

BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to weather, heavy surf, strong currents, and tides. Due to Maui’s rural setting, you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them. Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Maui is in a tropical climate. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

Spring Break Vacation

Had a great family spring break vacation here. Condo was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. No beach immediately in front of the condo but was only a short walk away and never busy. Convenient central location on Maui. Saw whales, turtles and seals during our week here. Only minor complaint was the patio furniture was pretty worn and not super comfortable. Otherwise was a wonderful stay.

Great location, beautiful view

Central location to all of the places we wanted to explore. Walkable to the beach. Kitchen is well stocked. The view from the porch is just beautiful. Coffee outside each morning was a must! Beds were very comfortable for all of us. Great spot to call home for our Maui getaway.

Beautiful Condo Centrally Located

This condo was perfect for our girls trip. The location was quiet, not in a huge touristy area, but centrally located on the island so it was a short drive to Kihei, Lahaina, the airport, and anywhere else we wanted to go. There were cute shops, restaurants, and a Starbucks right there in Ma'alea/Wailuku that we could easily walk to. We even got tattoos while we were there! This condo did not have beach access specifically (at least not at the end of October/early November; it may be different other times of the year), but there was a beach park just a block away with a long, beautiful stretch of sandy beach, where you could even snorkel. The beach chairs included in the rental were a nice touch; we used those almost every day! We also appreciated the air conditioning, the open kitchen, and in-unit washer and dryer. We loved waking up to the beautiful ocean view and sitting on the lanai with our coffee. The check in, parking, and departure procedures were clear and easy to follow. It was nice having a door access code instead of a key. The communication with the owner was great too. I can't say enough good things about this lovely condo. We enjoyed our time immensely and would stay here again any time! Mahalo!

Family Adventure Vacation!!

Loved the stay. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were complete and clear. The property was clean, stocked with basic necessities. Loved having the constant wind to keep our mountain family cool in August in Hawaii. We have an active family who walked to the marina for breakfast, visited the marina center, and took an adventure to snorkel at the crater and “tutle tows” from the nearby marina. We used our boogie boards right out of the back and on calm days saw people swimming “laps” in the ocean. It was a great location where everyone in the family was able to get in an adventure from bone fishing in the flats, to snorkeling at the nature reserve, and finding time to shop at Whaler’s Village. Great stay for a great price.

Es apartamento muy bonito excelente ubicación y limpio, una hermosa vista ala playa desde el balcón!

Exceeded our expectations

We've had some questionable vacation rental experiences in the past so I never expect things to be as nice as they look in the listing. I have been proven wrong. This place was fabulous. Honestly, best experience we've ever had. It had everything our family of four could have wanted. The beds were comfy, the washer and dryer were super useful, and there was everything we needed for the beach. 100% would stay again and recommend to friends.

Love this place!

My son and I really enjoyed our stay here. The condo has a beautiful view and was very nicely decorated. Loved how light and bright the main living area was! I especially loved the gorgeous blue and white master bedroom with the awesome wood blinds! The only thing missing was a ceiling fan in the master! I preferred to open the windows at night instead of using the A/C, so a fan would have been really nice to have. The beds were very comfy and the bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was also well stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils that you would need. We loved the location of the condo! Haycroft Beach was about a 1 minute walk away and was fantastic for walking! Also a 15 minute walk to the Harbour Shops and Ocean Centre. The Seascape Restaurant on the harbour is wonderful! The location also gave us easy access to get pretty much everywhere else on the island by car! Would highly recommend this condo and when we come back to Maui we would definitely stay here again!!

Cozy condo in Maalaea

Spacious, clean condo perfect for our family. Beds were super comfy, love that our teenage kids had a separate bedroom with their own beds. My husband got to surf right in front of the property. We saw sea turtles and whales most days. My kids also loved the smoothie cart and Maui Golf Sports park up the street. If you stay in Maalaea though, you need a rental car to explore the island as it's kind of in the middle of nowhere with not many restaurant options. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

No Beach or Ocean Access

If you are looking for a sandy beach or ocean access, look elsewhere. We were horribly disappointed to find out that there is no sandy beach at this property, and no place to enter the ocean safely. The listing was frankly misleading on this point. Note that if you want to go to Sugar Beach or Kamaole Beaches, you need to drive all the way out to #30, then down #310. Please look carefully at a map before booking this property. Also note that the pool area and the pool itself are both quite small; you cannot swim laps in the pool. Beyond these significant issues, the interior of the condo was pleasant and clean. It was nice to have a washer/dryer and A/C in the unit.
