Other things to note:
+ Brian Head is a small town without a major grocery store. The two general stores on the mountain are usually well-stocked with grocery basics, but we recommend bringing your own food or stopping in Cedar City or Parowan for groceries.
+ Vehicles must be less than 6’10” to park in the building garage.
+ The Den is located on the 3rd floor of the building. There is no elevator, so pack efficiently. Take breaks as needed as the high elevation can wind you.
+ The hot water tank is suitable for our unit to take average-length showers [our family of 4 has never had an issue of running out of hot water]. Please make sure to run the dishwasher when you’re not planning on showering to conserve hot water. + Make sure you are well hydrated before going up the mountain. Altitude sickness is common and this can help reduce your risk. Some guests recommend stopping in Cedar City or Parowan for a few hours to acclimate to the elevation before going up the mountain. The cupboard above the microwave is usually stocked with electrolyte tablets, but you can also purchase canned oxygen or canned peaches at the local store to help you combat it. Coconut water can also help. But above all else, if in doubt of your health, seek medical attention.
+ 4WD/AWD, snow tires and/or chains may be required. Check the Utah Department of Transportation website for current conditions and regulations.
+ Daytime temps in the summer months are usually in the 70s so we do not have AC. There are two portable fans - usually found in the downstairs hall closet, two ceiling fans, and the patio door + main window can be opened for airflow.
