Spacious beach home in a perfect location at beach path, just steps to Lake Michigan sand beach and only 60 miles from Chicago. Our large family friendly home sleeps 10-12 people with 4 bedrooms, 5th bedroom loft space, 3.5 bathrooms, open layout kitchen and living room, large dining room, and multiple living areas for entertaining and relaxing. We are located at quiet corner in Sheridan Beach neighborhood. Filled with natural light, our beautiful beach home is the perfect place to bring family and friends together for beach vacation and getaway on Lake Michigan.

Our home is situated in Sheridan Beach community, at the beach path and steps to Lake Michigan beach. We are walking distance to Washington Park zoo, free outdoor concerts at Washington Park amphitheater, Michigan City lighthouse and harbor, Old Lighthouse Museum, and Oasis Splash Pad. In addition, Michigan City boasts Franklin Street Arts District, Saturday farmers market all summer, Lighthouse Outlet Mall, Lubeznik Center for the Arts, Michigan City Municipal Golf Course, Michigan City harbor boat cruises, Friendship Gardens, Blue Chip Casino, beautiful Indiana dunes and plenty of bike and nature trails, golfing, restaurants, breweries, wineries, spectacular sunsets and much more.

Our home is new listing starting summer 2023. During the summer season (June through Labor Day), we seek 6-night stays. The remainder of year, there is a 2-night minimum stay. The arrival and departure schedule is based on garbage and cleaning services. Summer check-in is Monday afternoon and check-out is Sunday or Monday. Awesome annual beach trip

Second time staying at the Mollie’s Cottage. Our group had a fantastic time. Love this spacious and comfortable home. Quiet corner of Sheridan Beach - flowers and relaxing sound of the surf create a peaceful and festive oasis. Location is perfect, just steps to the beach. We look forward to our next visit!

Great beach vacation!

The property is located right across from the beach. There is a lot of rooms to accommodate a large group. The kitchen and bathrooms have all the tools you need. The only downside is if you have a problem negotiating stairs. There are a lot of them!

Great house! Beautiful views.

We used this house for our annual work retreat. The house was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, and close to the beach. The kitchen and living room were spacious and accommodated our needs well. I highly recommend this house.

Great Stay!

Jim and Nell provide a great home for a lake getaway! We stayed at their home for a bachelorette party with 9 girls and everyone had plenty of space to get ready and sleep. The beach chairs that were provided were a huge plus. Walking access to a beautiful, clean beach. If you told me we were in Florida I would have believed you! Plenty to do in the nearby area with outlet mall, casino, and wineries around.

Perfect Vacation Oasis

I can't say enough about this property!! It was absolutely perfect in every way. We were a group of 5 adult women staying for the weekend but honestly this property fits any type of group/family. It is a stunning home that left no detail unturned. The design of the home is unmatched with so many interesting details and nooks to discover. Everything we reached for was provided and was high quality (kitchen tools, bags games, sheets and towels, grill, outdoor seating, shower essentials, outdoor shower, games and books). The owner has thought of absolutely everything to make it a lovely and memorable experience. The beach is directly across the street and there are no stairs so beach access is ideal! And the outdoor shower helped get all of the sand off upon return from the beach. Walking to the lighthouse was lovely and the beach is expansive and so beautiful with perfect sunset viewing. The home has 2 incredible screened porches, including one on the second floor that our group really enjoyed using at night. I must add that there are beautiful watercolor paintings on the walls everywhere --many of the local area --simply amazing. I can't say enough about this property! We will 100% be returning. Perfect in any season!

Beautiful House at Unbeatable Location

We loved our stay! Twelve of us shared this house for three days and had all the room we'd need and then some. Plenty of seating for meals together or to lounge on the main floor and enough space to accommodate us all at night (three couples and five solo-sleepers took the beds; the 14-year-old took the couch to watch YouTube until 2 AM like he does at home).The fully loaded kitchen, books, games, and other comforts made us feel at home immediately. The property even had enough parking for the four cars that we brought. All of our worries about having enough room for all of us melted away upon arrival. One of our main motivations for choosing this house was proximity to the lake, and it was as advertised. As you step off of the property, you are about ten paces away from the trails leading to the beach. For lazy folks like us, this was a huge plus. Communication with the owners was awesome. They answered all of our questions before we arrived and left detailed instructions on how to maximize our comfort during our stay. We give the highest possible recommendation to this property (actually, the reviewer's selfish side wants to tell you to stay away just so it would be available to us in the future, but that seems dishonest).

Summer Vacation Family Getaway

Our family really enjoyed this peaceful and lovely beach retreat. The character and charm of this old home offered our group of seven plenty of space to gather, play games (lots of good ones provided by the hosts) and relax. The second floor screened porch off the master bedroom was perfect for coffee (bring your own), reading and hanging out! Lots of our time was spent on the white sand Lake Michigan beach which was right down the path across the street from the house; the beach chairs waiting for us on the side of the house were appreciated by all. Sunsets were gorgeous! Lots to explore in the Michigan City area for all ages. We look forward to coming back in the future!

Perfect beach getaway

Everything was perfect! We had a fantastic celebration weekend. We were a group of 10 adults. The house had everything we needed and more. It is spacious and clean, kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfy, linens were high quality, and plenty of space to be all together or spread out when wanted. The large dining table fit all of us and was perfect for festive meals. The second-floor enclosed porch was my favorite spot to hang out. Peaceful neighborhood with quick access to the beach. Sunsets were breathtaking and we saw the Chicago skyline! We plan to make it an annual getaway!
