Welcome to Cavern Cabin. Highly sought A Frame home. Fully renovated to be your perfect rustic modern mountain escape. With cathedral ceilings and floor to ceiling windows in the living space. Walking distance to 3 restaurants and Sister my sister bakery.

The Home- Fully remodeled 1,412 square feet cozy industrial modern style home. Open style living spaces. Plenty of room for the whole family! Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom on the main living level.

Bedroom 1(Main level)- Queen sized bed, two nightstands, large closet, and coat hooks.

Bedroom 2(Upstairs)- King sized bed, two nightstands, closet, coat hooks, bench access to jack and jill bathroom.

Bedroom 3(Upstairs)- Large loft style bedroom. Overlooks the living area. Barn style door/window closes for privacy. Queen bed, two nightstands, bench, armchair, 50” smart tv.

We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton rounds, q tips, and floss picks. We do provide limited hand towels and wash cloths. 6 bath towels are provided. (Not for lake use, please bring extra for lake.) Minimum of 2 rolls of toilet paper are provided. More may be left depending on number of guests and duration of stay. If you use large amounts of toilet paper, please bring extra.

Each level of this home has a bathroom.
Bathroom 1(main level)- Tiled shower/tub with single vanity.

Bathroom 2(upstairs)- Jack and Jill style with bedroom 2 and hallway. Beautiful, tiled shower with single vanity.

Kitchen- Open floorplan with visibility into dining and living area. Counter top sitting for 3. Full-sized black stainless-steel fridge, gas stove, and dishwasher to help you create wonderful meals. If you prefer take-out no worries! Fully stocked with all utensils, dishware, kids dishware, cookware, and bakeware. A starter pack of paper towels, and trash bags are provided. Along with dish soap, coffee grounds, and sugar.

Coffee set up- 12 cup drip, Keurig, and French press.

Dining- Located in view of kitchen, seating for 6 at dining table. 4 chairs and bench.

Living room- Leather sofa, coffee table, side tables, 2 armchairs, with singular chair for fireside enjoyment. 60” smart tv to log into your favorite streaming apps.

Fireplace- Gas fireplace.

Laundry area- Full sized HE washer and dryer located in closet on the main level entry.

Deck- Large deck located just off the living area. Table with bench seating for 6.

Parking- Asphalt parking for max 3 vehicles. You may need AWD of 4x4 in winter months due to a slight incline.

Heating- Central heating.

This home does not allow animals no exceptions. This does include service animals. The entire family including little ones who are sensitive to even the most hypo-allergenic breeds. Please keep their safety in mind. Reach out and we can help you find a home suitable for you and your companions.

Please note while we allow 8 guests, there is only sleeping space for 6 guests.

There are two areas of the property you will not have access to. One closet in bedroom 1 and the shed in the yard. Don’t worry you aren’t missing much.

After checking into the office, we will leave you to enjoy Big Bear, unless any issues arise. We are almost always available to contact. Please use the messaging option. These messages get sent to our whole team and is the fastest way to get a hold of us.

Reminder- This is the mountains. We do our best to control what we can. We spray and leave bait for pests, do our best to prevent rodents, and remove weeds throughout the year. Most of our homes do have sap producing trees.

We have a few cameras on property. They view the driveway and empty lot above house.

City of Big Bear Lake Good Neighbor Policy must be always be respected. Please review the city rules.

Do not exceed the occupancy limit (8)
Do not exceed the stated occupancy at any time during your stay. The maximum number of adult occupants may be less than the total maximum occupancy. (This amount includes infants and children)

NO PARTIES ALLOWED.

No parking in street or yard
Parking is only permitted in the driveway, designated
parking spaces, and garage. This includes trailers. The
maximum number of vehicles permitted is on the exterior
sign. (3)

No amplified music 24/7
Amplified music is not permitted to be heard beyond the
property line 24/7. Close your windows to avoid music
carrying beyond the property line.

Head inside at 10:00 p.m.
Noisy outdoor activities and spa use are prohibited from
10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (There is no spa at this property)

Take your furry friend with you.
Take your dog with you so they do not disturb
surrounding neighbors. You will find that Big Bear Lake
is very dog-friendly! (This home is not pet/animal friendly)

Take trash to dumpster locations
Trash needs to be taken to a local dumpsite. Clean Bear
locations:

Consequences

Unfortunately, a few of our guests refuse to
extend common courtesy and neighborly
behavior toward the guests and residents
around them. For those guests who have come
to party and disrupt the peace and tranquility
of the neighborhoods, there are costly and
severe consequences.

Fines
The minimum fine for violating the rules stated
previously is $500 per violation. A second
offense is $1000 per violation.

Eviction
Unruly guests who blatantly disregard the rules
and expectations will be evicted without a
refund. In addition, costly citations may be
issued to the reservation holder.
Occupancy (8 including children & infants) and car limit (3) are set by the city. They will enforce these. If found to have more than we are licensed for, you may be evicted with no refund. Please adhere to these limitations.

Keypad code- City of Big Bear Lake requires their Good Neighbor Policy to be signed prior to gaining access to the home. The person booking the home MUST sign, no exceptions. Declining to sign will result in no access to the home, & cancellation of reservation with no refund. GNP can be found in our listing along with the break down of our agreement. Agreement is sent in a link for virtual signature in welcome message.

Code will be sent day of check in. Once the home is ready or at 4pm, whichever is first.

Animals- This home does not allow any type of animal. This includes service animals and emotional support animals. The owners are extremely allergic and cannot have even hypoallergenic animals. Please do not ask as there are no exceptions to this rule. Please respect the owners and their health by selecting an animal friendly home. If you would like help seeing our animal friendly homes, send us a message, or view our available homes. Most of our homes have “Pet Friendly” in the title.

Cleaning Fee- nonnegotiable. This covers clean linens, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, floors, basic balancing of spa chemicals, and basic care of the home. This does not cover left trash, excessive messes, cleaning dirty dishes. The home has deeper clean items that happen 2-3x a year.

Early check in- No guarantees will be made. Do not show up to the home until given the code. This rushes the cleaners and tends to assure something is missed.

Late check out- No guarantees. This is based entirely on the cleaning team’s route. It is only granted night before checking out. If you’d like to guarantee checking out later, book another night. This allows you to stay a whole night or leave at any point during your reservation time. Please note, we do charge if you delay the cleaning teams by not vacating the entire property, not just the home. The cleaners will not knock to let you know they are there. Please be respectful of their time and any guest checking into the home after you.

Snow Removal- We have a snowplow on call during winter. Please be patient as they are on their own route. Our plows come out after a storm when 4+ inches fall. We do our best to shovel the entry to the home. Decks are not guaranteed to be shoveled. Shovel and a small bucket of salt is provided in the home for your convenience.

Great Place, But Dirty and Needs a Face Lift

I really like this house and the location. It was 10 minutes from Summit and the grocery store and Scotty’s ride shop is 1 min away. That being said, the owners need to work on the appearance. For example, half of the dishes were caked with food and there was no dish soap. The silverware, cups and cooking utensils were old and cheap. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows had stains on them. There were two vents that did not have covers and our four year old almost got injured by them. One of the grossest things was a shower curtain that was stained with urine. There was also weird things like the lack of cooking utensils like a colander, only children’s clothing hangers in the master bedroom, light switches that did not work, outlets hanging from the wall, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, etc. Again, great house in a good spot, but too dirty to recommend and missing many things required in a rental.

Great location

Great location and plenty of room for 6 adult and 2 babies! The property was very clean and smelled fresh. Drive way was large and plenty of space for three cars if needed. The property managers answered any questions quickly and friendly!

Would not stay here again

Booked this place for a family getaway. When we first walked in we were hit by a strong weed scent and we reached out to have it taken care of. They did come to try to fix the scent but it still smelled when we got back. There was also potato chip bags found and crumbs so I don’t think it was properly cleaned before we got there. The next day we were having game night while my two year old played with her toys when she all of a sudden went to pick up a ball that rolled under the couch and found a jar filled with fresh marijuana. We were very disappointed. If we were distracted she could have ingested it! We reached out to owner again and he didn’t say much but a sorry about that. The lighting in the house was very dim the doors and floors did creak but it is a cabin feel after all. The beds weren’t the most comfortable but doable. I did like the fact that the place looked like it was remodeled (bathrooms and kitchen). Overall did like the location and the house set up we just didn’t have a great experience and had a scare and were uncomfortable with the scent. But hey if your looking to smoke and party this Is the place to go 😅

Tour de big bear

The house was clean and spacious. The location was easy to find and peaceful area. Short drive to everything. Living area could use better lighting but that was minor. Overall it a real nice place. We would stay here again.

Great location

The house is good looking, nicely decorated. We enjoyed the porch and the quiet neighborhood…But lacks functionality and comfort. Our mattress (upstairs master) was incredibly firm and was difficult to sleep on. The downstairs bedroom gets all the noise from upstairs and the doorknob sticks so my 12 year old kept getting locked in. Record player and ice/water in fridge do not work. Overall cute place but we wouldn’t stay again because it lacked comfort.

A beautiful, relaxing Big Bear getaway

Booked this place on a whim for a mid-week mountain biking getaway. Looks just like the pictures; every square inch of the place has been beautifully remodeled. Super spacious living areas and bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, nearly everything you could ask for. Really the only thing missing were filters for the coffee maker- that was the only thing I don't typically think to bring with me on a trip. Otherwise, zero complaints.
