Come stay in a 1916 Craftsman style house located in Historic Havelock. You would be staying in the 1,600 sq. ft. apartment on the main floor. The house has been completely renovated in a style close to the era it was built. Havelock House has all new appliances and so many extra amenities. Antiques from the life of the house have been refinished and used to decorate the home.
The history of the railroad plays a large part in the creation of Havelock. Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy railroad system took advantage of the unsettled area to create Havelock. As a guest, you will be staying on the main floor private apartment
that sprawls 1,600 sq. ft. There are three private bedrooms with a queen, king, or a full-size bed. The couch is also large enough if a little more space is needed or for an afternoon nap!
There are two entrances to the main floor apartment, you may use both. Both doors have keyless secure locks. Codes will be the same on both doors.
One door is on the north side (front yard) and one door is on the east side of the house. The rear (east) entry door leads to both the basement and main floor apartments touchpad coded doors. The basement is a private residence. There are separate coded entry doors for each apartment once you enter the house. The north entrance is on the front porch, steps away from parking.
The front porch faces north and gives a great view of the Havelock area. Sit back have a cup of coffee and enjoy people watching or just the fresh Nebraska air. There is plenty of seating with two stools, a chair, and a cushioned wicker loveseat and chair set! Blankets are in a tub on the front porch if you get chilly. Smoking is allowed on the porch. Please use the ashtray.
The backyard is completely fenced with two gates. One gate is on the west side off the main driveway. The other gate is on south side off the rear parking area by the alley. The back patio area is concrete and has a large awning to keep the summer sun off you while enjoying the backyard and keeping cool. There is a table with three chairs and a free-standing swing under the shade of the awing. Blankets are available and stored in a tub on the patio. A picnic table that seats eight is set up next to an optional umbrella. There are a couple of outdoor tablecloths in the picnic supplies which are located in the sunporch. An antique metal freestanding swing is set up under the Hackberry tree, along with a chair tree swing, and freestanding hammock. There is a compost bin outside off the east side of the house.
There is a small garden area in the backyard and herbs planted all about. Feel free to cut some herbs or pick some fresh vegetables when they are in season. In the cold months, I move the fruit trees and many plants into the sunporch. It makes it so very cozy in there!
There is a Bolo toss (ladder game). If you want some other outdoor games. Let me know and I will bring more over to the house.
There are four cameras on property, one on the front porch. Which is turned to face the driveway, to ensure your privacy. One in the rear entry common area stairwell. The other two cameras are on the front and back of the garage facing the parking areas and gates.
Plenty of parking is available off to the west side of the house and south of the house off the alley. (Spots are reserved for the basement tenants. They will be marked. Please do not park in their spots or block in the cars.) If you choose to enter through the west gate of the fence you will have to unlatch it from the inside of the yard.
Take a walk down Havelock Avenue to experience the local restaurants, bars, and shops. Have a steak at Misty’s and breakfast at the famous Engine House. Stop into 'A' Street Antiques and check out his every changing supply. See what Maggie has to offer at Milkweed Yoga. Walk across the street to 1893 and have a Touzalin Chai. There is so much more to do, ask for recommendations.
Plan to stay in for a cozy night. Grab a phenomenal pizza from Isle’s Pub & Pizza. I recommend the Leaning Tower with cream cheese. Don’t forget to stop at one of the local liquor stores, Castle or The Isles to grab some beer.
A Russ’s grocery store is located right across the street if you want to enjoy a night in and create your own meal in the newly remodeled kitchen furnished with brand new appliances. Pots, pans, baking dishes, and cutlery all provided. Russ's has some pretty good fried chicken if you are craving homestyle food without the work! Throw in the deviled egg potato salad and have a picnic back at Havelock House.
Have a glass of wine and sit in the living room to stream something new while staying warm in front of the electric fireplace. Kick off your shoes and cozy up on the couch with one of the soft blankets and your partner.
If you need a new read, grab one of the books off the shelf and entertain yourself for a quiet night. There is an array of genres. If nothing on the shelf moves you, there is a public library off Touzalin Avenue and Fremont Street.
The house is equipped with a chess board, board games and cards. If that isn’t your thing, bring your gaming console to participate in the latest Fortnite challenge or your favorite Call of Duty using the hi-speed wi-fi.

It is a very quick trip downtown via bicycle on the bike path, if that is your thing.
