The Space
We renovated the kitchen and bathrooms of this charming cabin to give the spaces a modern cabin feel. You get the best of rustic original wood floors and combined with the comfort of updated bathrooms and kitchen. As a bear-themed cabin, you will find lovely hand-picked bear decor and art.
Outdoor entertaining - Relax under the stars in our luxurious J-245 Jacuzzi hot tub which is spacious enough to comfortably fit up to 7 guests.There is a deck patio with wrought iron chairs and tables under perfect for outdoor meals. Enjoy the deck under vibrant string lights after the sun goes down.
Kitchen and Dining Room - The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Large dining table seats 6-8 guests. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs with amenities including a slow cooker, Instant Pot, spices, plenty of serving dishes, utensils, drip coffee maker, and Keurig machine.
Laundry room - The laundry room contains a front loading washer and dryer.
Living Room - Well-lit central area and Buffalo rug, perfect for congregating for games or falling asleep watching a movie. Large leather sofa, love seat and 65" flat screen TV with Android TV. Bear decor and art decorate the space.

Wifi - The cabin has Wifi and a network that is connected to Comcast high speed internet.
Heating and Cooling - AC and heat controlled by a Honeywell thermostat.
House Policy
A passcode to the door lock will be provided before check-in. Enter through the main door on the deck.
Guests shall notify Hosts of any damage that occurs within 24 hours of the incident. If the premises or furnishings appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guests will inform the Hosts immediately so we can take care of it for you.
The maximum number of guests is limited to 8 persons.
The rental period begins at 3pm on the check-in date and ends at 11am on the checkout date.
Guests shall allow Hosts access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Hosts shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.
No smoking. If there is evidence of smoking in the home you may be charged an additional $250 fee plus costs of cleaning/remediation.
Pets are allowed under host prior approval. We love to bring our dogs on trips with us so we understand wanting to have your furry family members with you. The pet fee is $60 per pet per stay (for example, 2 dogs for a 3 night stay is $120). Please provide age and breed of dog that will be staying with you. We will accept up to 4 pets. Dogs will need to be crated when owners are not in the cabin and away.
The guest booking the property must be 21 years of age or older. The guest who books must stay at the property-you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.
No events (e.g., weddings, receptions, proms, etc) may be held without explicit permission from the Hosts. Violation of this rule will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation and eviction from the property without a refund.
Individuals other than those listed above in the Rental Party may not stay overnight in the property. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit agreed to above. Violation of this rule will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation and eviction from the property without a refund.
Guests should not create excessive noise that disturbs neighbors. Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by Jefferson County ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every guest on the property may be subject to a fine by the county up to $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.
Harpers Ferry Shannondale is a residential neighborhood with many full-time residents who’s dogs bark at times. Please be respectful of our neighbors while you enjoy your stay.
Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Use appliances and furniture for their intended uses. Hanging loveseat weight recommendation is 400 lbs and hanging hammock chair is 330 lbs. Guests assume all risks for use of all furnishing and appliances.
Please park in front of the cabin. Avoid parking on the grass.The parking is on a slope, please take precaution when parking.
During the winter, four wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the event of a snow storm. Guests should use their own judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the house early.
The cabin operates on a well. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper (no feminine products). If it is found that feminine products or other items have been flushed and clog the septic system, you may be held responsible for the costs of repairs.
Guests are not permitted to alter or obstruct the wiring of any electronic equipment including the security cameras. Violation results in contacting the short term rental platform and a non-refundable cancellation.
Security cameras are only used for security purposes and are faced at the front and back doors. We are in alignment with VRBO policy.
Welcome to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia! Ladybugs, stinkbugs, bears, deer, turkeys, bees, frogs, moths, ticks, spiders, bats, snakes, etc. may be encountered especially during spring, summer, and early fall. While our housekeepers and our pest control service work hard to keep things very clean and tidy, the reality is that we located on a mountain in WV - so you may encounter some wildlife!
The wood stove may be used upon request. The gas fireplace is temporarily inoperable.
No illegal substances or drugs permitted. No underage drinking or other illegal activities are allowed on the property.
No fireworks are permitted to be used on the property.
Although we don’t require guests to strip the beds, take out the trash or wash dishes before their departure, if the cleaning requires our cleaner more than 3 hours to clean, an extra fee may be applied.
When starter kit runs out, please provide own toilet paper, trash bags, keurig cups, coffee, detergent, fabric softener, dish packs, and make-up remover towels.
Check-out is at 11am.
Hot Tub Policy
By booking, guests acknowledge that upon entering the hot tub area, they will thoroughly inspect such area. Continued presence constitutes an acknowledgment that the guests have inspected this area and find and accept such areas as being safe and reasonably suited for. Guest agrees and warrant that if, at any time, they feel or think anything to be unsafe, all guests will immediately leave the area and advise the host.
Guest acknowledges voluntarily participating in the hot tub and guests are participating at their own risk. Guests are aware of the hot tub risks which may include but are not limited to drowning, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, skin/ear/bladder/lung or other infections, chemical burns or irritations, physical/psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, disability, economic or emotional loss, paralysis or death. Guests understand that these injuries or outcomes may arise from my own or others’ negligence, including that of the host, or from the conditions at the Activity location. Nonetheless, guests assume all related risks, both known and unknown. Some of the known risks and precautions are noted below and guests have read and understand these:
Pregnant women, children and those with heart disease are not allowed in the hot tub.
If you are taking medication of any kind, or being treated for diabetes, low or high blood pressure, strokes, epilepsy, weakened immune system or other conditions, or are a frail elderly person, consult your physician prior to use of the hot tub.
It is advised to limit your soak in the hot tub to no more than 15 minutes at a time. If you overheat and faint, you can drown.
Shower when you get out to rinse off the hot tub chemicals.
Get out if you feel dizzy, overheated, nauseous, or unwell.
Stay hydrated before getting into the hot tub.
Do not drink alcohol or use drugs before or during hot tub use.
Shower before you get in to get off most particles, oils, cosmetics and hair and skin products. No shoes, street clothes, pets or glass containers in or around the hot tub. Do not use soap and shampoo while inside the hot tub.
Don’t get in tub if you have open sores or wounds, or cuts, or diarrhea.
Close the lid properly when you are finished.
