We thought long and hard before writing this I own rental properties. We picked this pet friendly, property due to a heated hot tub and pool, enclosed yard.
This was a new VRBO property. We were the second renters. Owner said that since she didn't have feedback from the first renters and did not know about the problems. Later in our conversation we discovered that she was aware but still willing to market her property.. The electricity kept tripping throughout our stay. First it was along one side of the house and all of the bedrooms. Then the dishwasher tripped and the pool stopped heating. Jolene(owner) said when it happened before she reset the GSI. This worked at first but kept tripping. We did not have heat in the main part of the house.. (2 heaters) When the fan clicked on there was a loud noise, rattling and painful pressure to our ears, especially in the kitchen. Jolene said we were lucky that the other 1/2 of the house was heated and the problem was only in the kitchen! Owner was aware of this problem but didn't have time to fix it because we were coming..
The bedrooms didn't have a dresser, shelves or a suitcase rack. No place to put your clothing. Lamps had lightbulbs but could not reach the wall socket.s. There was a storm, lighting but no flashlights. We purchased extension cords, sponges, and cleaning items.
We were there for a -holiday family week. We did not want workers coming in to fix problems she knew about. She offered workers to come inside the house while we were hiking. We have two teenage girls using the swimming pool. Owner said I did what I could I offered, all I can say is sorry. How many workers would it take for how long to fix all these problems! Due diligence. One day, two pool workers came again without notifying us. The girls were in the yard alone. We paid for daily hot tub/pool heating. There was no hot tub service to refresh chemicals even though they came for the pool. Before arriving I asked the owner about the chemicals. I have a hot tub and know the health factors. Owner said I could use light chemicals only. .
We paid a considerable amount of money plus daily heating for the spa and pool. heating the pool and spa. We tried to contact VRBO but never got a response. There was no welcome or exit notes. We deserve a partial refund. The house was not ready for renters. Owner expected previous renters and VRBO to educate her. Perhaps I will hear from VRBO.
