Beautiful Kabekona Lake home centered on massive sandbar! House has 3 bedrooms that consist of a king, queen and full size bed. Also has a bunkroom with queen and bunkbed set and a sunroom with pullout queen sleeper. A fully stocked kitchen and lots of gathering spaces.
Perfect for family vacations and gatherings, golf weekends, ice fishing, snowmobiling trips or just a quiet weekend of R&R. The amenities are endless.....

Enjoyable family vacation

Property was great for our family. Plenty of room to accommodate everyone and one little one that needed quiet naps! Beautiful lake and view that keeps us coming back to Kabekona. Hosts were accommodating and great communicators. We will be back!

Great family retreat.

We enjoyed this wonderful vacation home that offered a very relaxing family retreat. It was very spacious and comfortable for us as grandparents, parents and grandsons along with one golden retriever who loved swimming in the lake. We can’t thank the hosts enough for sharing this property and we look forward to coming back next year.

Great summer getaway to the lake

We enjoyed our stay so much! The house was clean, comfortable, and the perfect “up north” vacation spot. We spent a lot of time outside, and the lake was perfect for my young children. There isn’t much of a beach on the shoreline, but the water is shallow and clean. We spent hours in the water. The lot is fairly private. There was plenty of room for my extended family for a 5 day stay. The kitchen and dining area was large and could accommodate us all easily. We appreciated all the extra too: a clean hot tub, sauna, pool table, darts, etc. I’d definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Beautiful lake house

We loved this lake house! It was fully equipped with all the necessities for a long weekend stay. The kitchen had everything we needed. Enjoyed the deck and backyard area. Comfortably slept 6 adults (3 couples). The lake is beautiful, we enjoyed listening to the loons! We were able to launch our boat at the public launch and dock at the house. Great property and would stay again! Would suggest a few more chairs for hanging out in the back yard/dock area though! :)

Great retreat on Lake Kabekona in Minnesota

Wonderful stay in La Porte, MN! The house is in great shape with a well stocked kitchen. There is plenty of room for group gatherings or privacy if wanted. The lake is amazingly clear and refreshing.

Ojibwe Forest Rally

This property is clean and had everything we needed. We stayed for the Ojibwe Forest Rally. It was located in a great spot. Close for recce. The only difficulty we encountered was a narrow and slightly steep driveway from the county road. We had to leave our 65ft truck/trailer elsewhere. We wouldn't have been able to get in the driveway or turn around with our rig. No fault of the owner but beautiful place otherwise.

Great family house

Very nice accommodations with great swimming for grade school kids and up. Mentioned to homeowner that it seems to be lacking smoke and CO detectors so hopefully that will be remedied. Would be wonderful if a permanent outdoor firepit area by lake were added. Lacks decent outdoor seating of any kind except on top deck, so pack your camp chairs.

Spacious cabin on great sandbar

We had six adults, four kids and a dog with us and we all really enjoyed this place! Cabin was spacious with enough room for people to spread out or come together when we wanted. Hot tub and sauna saw plenty of use and were well-kept. Frontage was awesome with a sandy area up top for play and a sandbar with waist-deep water that went out a huge ways out into the lake, so clean, ample space for playing in the water. Had everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again. Kabekona was a quiet, clean lake that was fun to enjoy, although the fishing could have been better, ha.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

I could go on and on about this property…it was just absolutely amazing!! The cabin is perfect —beautiful beach area with sand bar, glorious view of lake, nice kitchen for cooking meals, comfortable beds for resting, and everything one might need! Lake Kabakona is ideal—clean, clear, calm, and the loons sing in the distance each morning and night! Hosts were great to work with—no problems at all!!

Absolutely beautiful for our family vacation!

This was the perfect ‘Christmas in July’ gift to our adult children and families! Beautiful, well-appointed home, and a serene location. Enough room for everyone to have their own space, yet be together. We were able to dock our pontoon right to the dock, which was wonderful, and the views were spectacular. Can’t wait to do it again. Many treasured memories were made!

My grandfather introduced my family to the area when he purchased Point of Pines Resort next door in the 1950"s. My family quickly fell in love with the lake and surrounding area and has owned several lots on this lake since then. This property has been in our family since the 1980's and the home was designed by my parents and completed in 1991. It has stayed in the Amundson family ever since. We have raised our kids with weekends at the cabin, with the Fourth of July being a family tradition on the lake.
We have one daughter living in Florida, our son in college at NDSU and our baby girl is a junior in high school. We live in the Minneapolis area and have work commitments in the cities. Finding time to enjoy the cabin is difficult. So with that, we recently decided that now is the time to share the property and try a new business adventure!! We truly hope you enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Kabekona Lake as much as our family has!
