Das Deepwood House befindet sich auf dem Kamm des Mount Kessler, umgeben von 40 Morgen bewaldeten Hügeln und Weiden und umgeben von einem ruhigen Wald aus Ahorn und Eichen entspannender Ort zum Verweilen bei einem Besuch in Fayetteville.

Das preisgekrönte architektonische Meisterwerk, das in der Ozark-Tradition aus Zedernholz, Stein und Glas erbaut wurde, wurde vom verstorbenen ehemaligen Architekturprofessor der Universität von Arkansas, Herb Fowler, entworfen und taufte es treffend "Deepwood".

Das Haus ist komplett möbliert und ausgestattet, mit einem Hauptschlafzimmer und Bad und zwei Gästeschlafzimmern, die sich ein zweites Bad teilen. Alle Böden sind Natursteinplatten, die einen massiven Steinkamin, der ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer dominiert, wunderschön ergänzen. Es verfügt über eine geräumige Terrasse inmitten eines alten Ahornwaldes mit Blick auf Fayetteville und eine riesige Steinterrasse zum Grillen und Unterhalten.

Das Deepwood House bietet Platz für bis zu sechs Personen. Es können jedoch auch Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten für mehr Personen arrangiert werden. Es ist ein großartiger Ort für Hochzeiten. Für diejenigen, die gerne wandern, radeln oder rennen, stehen Wald- und Wiesenwege zur Verfügung.

MCM Historical Home

The house was architecturally very pleasing. The beds were comfortable and it was clean.We were sad because we had planned to fix breakfast there, but there were no coffee mugs, or dishes.They supplied a coffee maker, a small stack of paper plates, and 4 mismatched glasses. We were 6 ladies in town for a mom’s weekend. Why have a coffee maker if you have no coffee mugs? We had brought food from home for two good breakfasts but no way to eat it. We end up taking it back home.

Great Stay to Relax

This hidden gem sits on a bluff overlooking wooded hillside. Great place to stay if you want something unique and away from people and traffic. Well stocked and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. For family or couples, we highly recommend this place. Jackson and Emilie are great host as well.

An Excellent place to stay

Deepwood House is fantastic- an Architectural gem in an amazing setting. the property manager was terrific from first contact to farewell. If you are looking for a unique and seclude (yet close to all things Fayetteville) property, your search has ended. such a neat house in such a great location...The incredible Mt Kessler trails right out the door makes this a trail-lovers dream. We highly recommend this property.

Amazing, natural, time capsule of a home

This place is amazing. Be sure your car is not low to the ground, as you must drive on a dirt road to get to the property. The hosts were wonderfully accommodating. I absolutely love the guest book. Our hiking plans got rained out so we enjoyed the house all day playing games we brought. The home is stunning and incorporates nature at so many details. It was so lovely.

Our family has enjoyed the beauty of the Deepwood house over the years while our daughter was attending the University of Arkansas. It is a special place to unwind, reunite, celebrate holidays, and honor milestones like graduation. Emilie is a wonderful host and has always made us feel welcome and ensured this special home was ready for our arrival. Beautiful, unique house

The house it beautiful! It is in a beautiful location. Very comfortable and functional. My only complaint was the gas grill was very finicky and never wanted to work when I needed it. Also, the caretakers have three large penned dogs that bark quite a bit when they see you - which is anytime you drive up to the house, or walk around the front of the house.

My family rented the house for sons graduation. It was so nice and relaxing. Had dinner at house Saturday night with friends and family. The house has plenty of room for a big gathering. The back deck is so wonderful. The onsite manager was awesome. We had a few problems and he took care of everything right away. The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. Great Fayetteville Hideaway

Such a unique location and house near Fayetteville. Perfect location to be close to University of Arkansas, but feel like you are in a remote, serene and relaxing destination. Perfect for a family getaway to reconnect and spend quality time together. The host was very friendly and easy to contact and communicate with when you have questions about anything. The only negative I would say is that I wish when we arrived that the deck would have been clean and the leaves/branches swept off so it felt more inviting. There was a broom that we found so we cleaned off all of the decks ourselves. Just a small detail that should be considered. We would chose to return to this house again. We had a wonderful stay!

the property is unique & interesting & the setting ideal. we had everything we could want & everything was so comfortable - beds, towels, etc. but the BEST thing was how helpful & thoughtful Neil has been this entire time!!!!! i have never encountered someone who went the extra mile more than he has! all 5 of us would like to thank him for all his help! we had seen 2 reviews that indicated some problems, so i asked you & Thomas about them. you both assured me that you were working hard to counter any past issues. We couldn't be more pleased & anticipate returning as soon as we can! I would highly recommend your lovely place for friends, families, anyone wanting to get away from it all but still be close enough for all that fayetteville has to offer.

Very Different but very unique stay

We had a very nice time at Deep Woods House. The home is very convenient for anything you might want to do in Fayetteville . It is, just as the name suggest, in the woods. It might be difficult to find if you are arriving for the first time after dark. The home was very clean on the inside. The house feels like an awesome cabin but it could use a little TLC on the outside. Pros: very unique, good location, Emily, the caretaker is very responsive and polite. Cons: the deck is not really safe for very small children. Be careful on the inside, there are a few tricky steps. They are however well marked. Final con, the master bedroom is not completely divided from the living area. The wall behind the Master bed does not go all the way to the ceiling. Again, we had a great time I just wanted to be completely honest for other renters.

Unique House

We stayed in this house for about two weeks every year from 2002 until 2006. We loved it. It's deep in the woods and high in hills behind the Fayetteville/Farmington Walmart Supercenter. It required a lengthy drive on a gravel road. The house took a little "getting used to" on our first stay. It looks like the memory foam mattress topper that we purchased is still on the King bed. There will probably always be some degree of spider webbing because this house is as close to nature as you'll find without pitching a tent. If you typically stay at a four or five diamond hotel, this is probably not the home for you. If you love communing with nature, waking up to the sound of birds in the trees, squirrels scampering about, and zero traffic noise, then this is your home away from home. We have very fond memories of this amazing house and it's beautiful location. I used the 5/13 date because the system wouldn't allow the actual dates. I didn't give five stars because the house is naturally damp, and buggy.

Nice property but needs some work

This is an older home and a bit run down. The exterior is in serious need of maintenance but the inside is nice. Unfortunately the fireplace has not been cleaned or maintained in some time and as a result the living room and master bedroom have an overwhelming smoke odor which required us to leave the doors open, purchase odor neutralizer and repeatedly spray it in the living room and master bedroom in order to deal with the smoke smell. This was the most major problem we had with the place (and it is MAJOR.) The exterior of the home is overrun with spiders which surround the mostly unscreened windows so you either have to keep them closed or deal with bugs coming into the house. There are no shades or curtains in any of the bedrooms which is a bit troublesome given the close proximity to the host's quarters which are within 50 feet of the house. There are no USB ports anywhere in the house and the A/C outlets are FEW and far between especially in the master bath which is very small and could use a make-up mirror and additional lighting. The layout of the property is user friendly and Emily the host is very nice and accommodating. It's kind of a cool place off the beaten path and quiet but I recommend a higher profile vehicle to get up the long gravel road (which is in disrepair) because you will bottom out in at least two places on your way up to the house. On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it a 5, mostly due to the smoke smell from the fireplace. Without the smoke smell I'd give it an 7+.

Lovely, relaxing weekend

My husband studied as an architect (no longer practicing) so we were very excited to stay here. It is a great home! In response to some other reviewers, I would say to consider this the nicest rustic cabin you could stay at. It is very much in the woods, and the home is older, and in a style that might not appeal to some. The photos are 100% accurate, so you see where you are staying. If you have any questions, please reach out to the caretakers in advance, they were very helpful (and we loved meeting their dogs). Our only problem was finding the plates and glasses! (Got to love this style of hidden cabinets. We thought it was funny.) Make sure to take the time to look over the books. There are true beauties there. We loved it and hope to be back!
