Willkommen im Kataluma House! Das Kataluma befindet sich an einem 3,2 km langen, pudrigen Sandstrand mit rosa Sand und Blick auf das türkisfarbene Wasser des Atlantiks. Es ist ein herrschaftliches Anwesen am Strand von Double Bay mit 6 Schlafzimmern und 6 ½ Bädern. Dieses neue und abgeschiedene Haus mit 5.000 SF verfügt über zwei Wohnebenen. Die obere Etage verfügt über ein großes, offen geschnittenes Zimmer mit 20 Fuß langen Glasschiebetüren, die einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Strand und das Meer bieten. Nachts wird dieser Raum zu einem Heimkino mit Surround-Sound, CD / DVD-Player und 10-Zoll-Filmleinwand mit Filmbibliothek. Die untere Etage des Kataluma verfügt über ein zweites Familienzimmer, einen Aufenthaltsraum mit einem 8-Fuß-Schiefer-Billardtisch und einem Flachbild-Sat-TV.

Draußen können Sie sich in unserem neuen beheizten Infinity-Pool direkt am Meer oder in unserem Gartenpool an der Westseite des Hauses entspannen. Entspannen Sie in unserer schattigen Tiki-Hütte am Strand. Erkunden Sie unsere vorgelagerten Inseln und Riffe mit unseren Kajaks, Stand-Up-Paddle-Boards und Schnorchelausrüstung oder erkunden Sie das Land mit unseren Strandfahrrädern. Kataluma bietet hervorragende Möglichkeiten zum Schnorcheln an den wunderschönen Korallenriffen direkt am Strand vor dem Haus. Grillen Sie und genießen Sie den Fang Ihres Tages auf einer Vielzahl von Terrassen und Terrassen am Meer und am Pool.

Die obere Ebene von Kataluma verfügt über vier Schlafzimmer-Suiten (2 Kingsize- und 2 Queensize-Betten). Jedes hat seinen eigenen Namen und sein eigenes Designthema (Hibiskus, Gecko, Lotus, Frangipani), das auf dem Holzspiegel über der Tür handgeschnitzt ist. Die Türen sind in Flure eingelassen, um einen privaten Zugang zu den Hauptwohnbereichen zu ermöglichen. Jedes Schlafzimmer hat ein eigenes Bad, jedes mit einem einzigartigen Design und Stil.

Die untere Etage des Kataluma verfügt über eine neue Mastersuite im Erdgeschoss mit einem Kingsize-Bett und einem eigenen Bad. Das zweite Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss ist ein Schlafraum für bis zu 8 Personen und verfügt über ein eigenes Bad. Es ist mit einem Etagenbett und zwei Etagenbetten in Standardbreite ausgestattet.

Die untere Etage des Kataluma verfügt außerdem über ein zweites Wohnzimmer mit einem 42-Zoll-Flachbildfernseher mit Satellitenempfang und ein Spielzimmer mit einem professionellen Billardtisch aus Schiefer mit Kneipentisch, Kneipenhockern und Zuschauerstühlen für Poolbegeisterte.

Katalumas Gourmetküche wird den anspruchsvollsten Koch zufrieden stellen. Eine 15-Fuß-Insel in der Mitte bietet viel Platz für die Zubereitung Ihrer Mahlzeiten zu Hause. Oder lassen Sie es von unserem Koch für Sie erledigen!

Die Edelstahlgeräte von Bosch verfügen über ein Glas-Kochfeld mit Belüftung nach unten, einen Wandofen, eine Mikrowelle, einen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach und einen Geschirrspüler, um die Bedürfnisse von Gästen, Köchen und Mitarbeitern zu erfüllen.

Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet mit allen notwendigen Utensilien, um Ihre kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten zuzubereiten, einschließlich Wusthof-Messer, Boos-Brett, Mixer, Toaster, Kaffeemühle, Kaffeemaschine, Reiskocher, Topftopf und einer Auswahl an Gewürzen und Gewürzen. Gleich außerhalb des Küchenbereichs befindet sich ein großer eingebauter Jenn-Aire-Gaskochgrill für Ihre Grill- und Grillauswahl.

50th Wedding Anniversary celebration with family

First time to Kataluma. Vacationed with our son, daughter & their families. What a spectacular week! . The house was beautiful, lots of room. The infinity pool was our hang out spot for the week, awesome ocean views! Flew into GHB, rented cars from Kean Stubbs. With the house located in the central part of the island it's easier and less of a drive to get to sights in the north and the south. The Atlantic ocean provided a beautiful view and crashing waves. It was a little rough with the rocks in front of the house, but that didn't stop us from kayaking! Played lots of pool in the evenings. Ten minutes away was 10 Bay Beach which was great for snorkeling. Crystal clear water and all shades of blue. Did a full day boat excursion with Captain Rob, lots of awesome adventures!! Took a day & went north to Harbour Island for horseback riding, stopped at Queen's Bath & Glass Window Bridge. If you've never been to Eleuthera before, be prepared for beach roads that will hold your attention while driving, plus remembering to drive on the left side of the road. Before the trip, Matthew Simon was very helpful and responsive. Property management & staff were very friendly, and quick to respond during our stay. We hired Andrew Demeritte to cook dinner a couple of nights. Having never done that before, we were extremely pleased with how it turned out! Would highly recommend this rental lots of space, very comfortable & relaxing!

50th birthday bash!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Kataluma!!! There were 8 adults and the main living area more than accommodated all 8 of us cooking, cleaning or just hanging out!!!! We loved the theater system and used it several evenings while winding down… the heated pool was awesome and we really enjoyed the beach.. the surf was surprisingly calm for this time of year.. we had fish brought and filleted at the house one evening and another evening we had Jeremy Lewis in one evening to prepare a meal.. all fresh, all delicious!! We also went on a private boat excursion with “exotic Excursions” with Sheldon.. he was very accommodating… All in all Kataluma was amazing, we would definitely recommend a stay at this house..

Such an awesome week at Kataluma

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time to the Bahamas. First time to Kataluma. What a spectacular week. Vacationed with 3 other couples. The house was great with a huge open area for visiting. All bedroom's had king size beds with private bathrooms, huge plus. The infinity pool was for sure our hang out spot for the week and so very awesome. The house location was very secluded and we never saw many tourists and the only time we saw locals (besides the staff) was at the store. Food and alcohol are more expensive but we knew that going in and it wasn't a big deal. The location of the house was perfect. The Atlantic ocean provided a beautiful view and crashing waves. It was a little rough, but a Hurricane had just passed through. 10 minutes away was 10 Bay Beach which was the most beautiful ocean I have ever seen. Crystal clear water and all the shades of blue. There were just a few other people at this beautiful beach (we spent two days at this beach) Before the trip, Matthew Simon was VERY responsive and helpful. The property manager Ann was very attentive as was Violet and Martin (the house staff). The only negative is the outside of the house, outside furniture need to be refreshed and replaced being pretty weather worn. The beach chairs and beach equipment all seem to need replaced. BUT none of this affected our stay and we are planning another trip May 2023. Would highly recommend this rental.

Better than Expected

The pics of the of the lanai facing the ocean do the view justice, while the pictures of the interior do not. What kind of comes across as a cut up layout, this is not the case. The main floor is completely open in the multi-tiered great room with 4 bedrooms at each corner of the house. We were a group of 9 adults and never once felt on top of each other. If you've never been to Eleuthera before, be prepared for beach roads that will hold your attention while driving. After you adjust to the change of environment, the Kataluma house will serve you very well as your retreat for comfort and relaxation. We would go out and explore on most days and then be very appreciative of what we were returning to. The one thing I would definitely recommend to any first timer to Eleuthera is considering a chef coming to the house. We've never done that before, yet were extremely pleased with how it turned out. We had several days where lunch and dinner provided at the house cost less than one dinner out. The other challenge for the few meals we prepared for ourselves was "grocery stores" on the island are not like the supermarkets at home.Back to the Kataluma house. When asking others about any new experience they had, I like to ask them, "would you do it again?" If someone were to ask that of me about the Kataluma house, I would respond - Absolutely.

Pink Sands Paradise

The location, right on the Atlantic, was breathtaking!!! We enjoyed the infinity pool daily as well as peaceful walks on the pink sand and surfing the waves at the house. Kataluma is well stocked and plenty of amenities. Island Farm is right around the corner for convenient grocery and produce pick up. All dining experiences were wonderfully delicious. Property management were friendly, super helpful and quick to respond before arrival and during our stay. Will definitely plan to visit this pink sand paradise again!

Great place for seclusion and a great view

We have stayed in a number of places across the Caribbean. This is one of the best. If you like peace, quiet and being away from it all this is your spot. The pictures do not justify the views. The property is well kept and the house was clean. Keep in mind it sits facing the ocean and takes a beating year round. The normal ocean wear was present, but Martin manages to stay ahead of it. The ocean facing infinity edge pool is wonderful, and the pool behind the house on the land side is a quite oasis. The tiki hut is a nice step off to the beach, with the toys listed. It was rough from the Atlantic side the week we stayed, but we did get in one snorkel on the reefs in front of the house, and paddled to nearest Cay several times (do this at low tide to access the beach - requires you to navigate around some coral heads). Inside the open plan for dining and living is great. We had a crew of 8 and it was never crowded. The kitchen will have everything you need, and the appliances are all in good shape. Downstairs, the bunkroom is great for kids / teens and the other BR with a King is large and nice. No complaints on bedding, everyone slept well. Internet was good and the few times some of us had to work, it was not an issue (did have to be reset a time or two). Violet comes twice a week for a freshen up and quick clean - much appreciated. Lastly, I would recommend having a cook come at least once during the week. We had Krystal Knowles cook for us one night and it was wonderful, and less than a meal for all of us at a restaurant. Great place, great set up, good communication and a good value for the price.

Great view of the ocean

One day it was hotter and less wind blowing and we got in the other pool which was a few degrees cooler and it was perfect for that day. Our blender went out and I called Anne on a Sunday and it was the last day and she showed up less than a hour later with another blender so we could finish off the Pina Caldas! Outstanding. Everything in the house worked. It was clean and maids came every other day to keep it clean. We stayed at the house most of our trip. The beach access was right there with steps going down. Easy! Great house to enjoy.

Each bedroom suite has its own bathroom and shower, which made it easy for each couple to have their own space. The grandchildren enjoyed the bunk room in the lower level of the house, which also included another adult suite to the side. We enjoyed the 2 pools one Oceanside and one on the less windy side. The large kitchen table and living room seating was ideal for a large crowd. A tiki hut outside was shaded and the pool area had an outdoor table and chaises to lay on. The ocean front provided reefs to snorkel on, it is on the Atlantic Ocean, so it was a bit wavy during our stay. Breathtaking views from the main room. They also have a big screen dvd for the kids to watch at nighttime, which they enjoyed to wind down for the evening. Bring adult dvds not many here to choose from. A few minor issues, but nothing to complain about, they resolved these issues during our stay. The help are extremely nice and helpful! We had a great time and would book again.

Nice but needs some TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house has a great set-up and the location is very central to the island. The downfall is in the winter it is very windy on that side of the island. We were told the summer months were not. The pool was supposed to be heated but it took 3 days before it consistently worked and it was more due to my Brother-in-law figuring it out. The house has a very closed up musty smell and the bunk room smelled like spoiled linens. Ann, the property manager was great, and Martin, the maintenance guy was very responsive but it would take multiple visits to get the pool heater going and the cloudiness in the pool to disappear. The mattresses desperately need to be replaced they all sag in the middle. Overall, I think the place could use a serious deep clean and some TLC, replacing mattresses, outside furniture that has rusted and other items. The kids loved the theatre wall and the adults loved the tiki hut.

Kataluma Vacation

Beautiful home on a beautiful island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group stayed at Kataluma in February 2020. We were all adult couples and had plenty of room for all of us with each of us having our own bedroom and private bathroom. The infinity pool area was a favorite place of ours to hang out together. We never used the other pool. The internet connection was on and off all week and the phone line to the house was not in service but we were on vacation so the lack of connection forced us to disconnect from the outside world for a while which wasn't such a bad thing. We did a lot of exploring of the island from top to bottom. We had Jeremy and Anna come in and cook a meal for us one night. We would highly recommend them. You need to take on the attitude of being on "island time" during your stay! Slow down and enjoy the beauty!! We are so grateful for the time spent on such a beautiful island.

Family Christmas and Birthday Celebration

The house was welcoming, very clean and comfortable. We loved the view from inside the house. We also loved that each bedroom had its own private bath and all the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The heated infinity pool was amazing, the Tiki hut was fun, we had all the toys (kayaks, floats, etc) we needed. The beach was beautiful with a nice tidal pool for our babies to play in. The staff was very impressive, friendly, professional and thorough - Anne, Violet and Martin. Josh Demeritte really made our vacation so special and easy. We fell in love with the island (Surfers Beach, Hatchet Bay Caves, Ocean Hole, Tippys, Gregory Town) and highly recommend this house, rental company, staff and location. Can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone from start to finish for helping to make our vacation one to remember.
