Wenn Sie vorbeigefahren sind, haben Sie sich über die Geschichte dieses wunderschönen Steingebäudes gewundert. Das charmante und historische Gebäude wurde 1832 als Schulhaus mit einem Raum erbaut - eine Funktion, die bis 1950 bestand. Seit 1998 wird es als Gästehaus neu belebt.

Wunderschön inmitten von Pferdefarmen an der malerischen Straße nach Mt. Greylock gelegen. Im Zentrum der Berkshires, 8 km vom Skigebiet Jiminy Peak, 16 km von South Williamstown, 24 km von Tanglewood und Mass MoCA und 32 km von Jacob's Pillow entfernt. 5 Meilen nach Pittsfield und der Berkshire Mall. Privater Garten. 5 Hektar Grundstück im Hintergrund, wo Pferde und Kühe grasen.

Alles wird zur Verfügung gestellt: voll möbliert, meist mit Antiquitäten. Tagesdecken, Bettwäsche, Decken, Kissen, Handtücher, Bügeleisen und Bügelbrett. Kleine Küche mit Mini-Herd / Backofen, Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Kaffeemaschine von Keurig mit einer Auswahl an Kaffee, Tee und heißer Schokolade, Töpfen und Pfannen, Geschirr, Besteck usw. Breitband-Internet und Fernsehen mit Netflix, Hulu und anderen Streaming-Optionen inklusive.

Es gibt 2 Etagen. Der erste Stock ist das alte Klassenzimmer mit alten Schreibtischen. Es gibt auch ein Rollbett, das als 2 Einzelbetten genutzt werden kann. Das Badezimmer befindet sich im ersten Stock. Die 2. Etage ist wie ein Studio-Apartment - mit einem Queensize-Bett und einem Einzelbett. Auch eine kleine aber komplette Küche. BITTE BEACHTEN SIE: Es gibt ein Badezimmer im ersten Stock.

Ideal für einen romantischen Kurzurlaub oder für eine Familie mit 4-6 Personen. Für zusätzliche Erwachsene nach den ersten beiden gilt eine Gebühr von 25 USD / Nacht. Kein Aufpreis für Kinder. Bitte geben Sie die Anzahl der Kinder in Ihrer Nachricht an, wählen Sie jedoch im Pulldown-Menü 0 Kinder aus, damit Ihnen nichts berechnet wird.

Die Old Stone School kann 12 Monate im Jahr gemietet werden. Jede Jahreszeit hat ihre Vorteile:

FRÜHLING - Bäume entstehen aus dem Winter, während sie ihre flüchtige grüne Farbe des Frühlings bewahren. Narzissen, Tulpen, Wanderwege sind geöffnet. Genießen Sie das warme Wetter nach einem langen Winter! Kälber erscheinen auf dem Hügel hinter dem Schulhaus.

SOMMER - Blumen blühen, Beeren pflücken, Outdoor-Aktivitäten in der Nähe, Kultur überall - Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Barrington Stage, Kunstmuseum Clark, MassMoCA, Kunstmuseum Williams College usw.

HERBST - Genießen Sie das Kaleidoskop der Herbstfarben, das die Hügel hinter dem Schulhaus bedeckt. Wanderung Greylock - kurze und lange Wanderungen. Besuchen Sie die Bascom Lodge - eine Station auf dem Appalachian Trail.

WINTER - Jiminy Peak ist weniger als 10 Minuten. Weg. Ski oder Snow Tube in Bousquet ist 20 Minuten. Weg. Langlaufen Sie auf den Feldern im Hintergrund oder besuchen Sie die Hilltop Orchards in Richmond oder Notchview in Windsor.

Such a very nice place!

It was a very quiet unique place to stay! You get a beautiful place with a lot of history and Good feel! I sent a picture to my dad and he Remembered using those same desks when he was a kid. Very nice weekend.

Great location, fun cottage

We spent three nights in the Stone Schoolhouse, hiking, visiting The Clarke, and enjoying a lovely evening concert at Tanglewood. Convenient location for seeing the Berkshires, unique quarters and friendly hosts. Highly recommend!

Historic Stay

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this old schoolhouse. The attention to detail was impressive, right down to freshly cut flowers throughout. We loved that the history of the schoolhouse was on display, along with interesting relics from the 1800s/early 1900s. Everything was great and we hope to return one day!

Historic quaint getaway in Berkshires near Mt Greylock

The stone school house was such a unique property and a really cool piece of history. The owners clearly take pride in acknowledging that history with the decor and informative photographs/binders, etc. Not only that, but the space was clean and cozy, and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is just gorgeous and so convenient - you are a few minutes from the visitor's center at Mt Greylock for amazing hiking, plus only 20 minutes to charming little towns like Williamstown and North Adams as well. I would highly recommend the Stone School House!

Weekend at Tanglewood

We were looking for a relaxing place for a weekend away, ending with a concert at Tanglewood...I came across the old school house, was immediately taken with it, and it did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unique placec with close access to local hiking and biking options. Rich and Cheryl were gracious and flexible hosts.

Magical lil retreat

A Unique and Lovely Place

This charming converted schoolhouse is well-supplied for the present day while reminding you of a bygone age. It's set among beautiful rural woods and pastures, private, but with ideal access to local attractions south, like Stockbridge and Lenox or north, like Williamstown and North Adams. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, and they also simply allow you to enjoy your stay. A great place!

Great weekend getaway

Our short stay at the Stone School Cottage was wonderful. Rich was very responsive to a minor issue we had with the TV. The cottage was exactly as listed with an unusual layout (bathroom downstairs from the living area) but it wasn't a problem. It's located within a short distance of a lot of activities, restaurants, etc. We'll definitely stay again if we're back in the area.

Wonderful, peaceful.

Our stay at this historic schoolhouse was terrific. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We slept well there - as the two available large rooms up and down afforded flexible sleep areas. Beds comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and the amenities such as foil, plastic wrap, tea, a Keurig machine, extra paper plates etc made our stay very convenient. The history of the place is fascinating. Many thanks!

Lovely spot - wonderful stay

The Old Stone School was a truly exceptional place to stay - and the owners were also delightful people, willing to help and refer us to interesting places. We stayed two nights - it was big for the two of us, but decorated nicely and with a full downstairs that has all sorts of ephemera from the old schoolhouse days. Would stay again next time we are out at Tanglewood. Heads up - the bathroom is on the first floor, the bedroom on the second. Minor inconvenience, but not possible to change it within the building structure. Don't let this deter you! It is a magical place. And we will visit again.

Unique experience and great location

We stayed with our 3 kids (2, 5, 7). The owners had a safety gate for our little ones and they enjoyed playing with all the toys and the actual school to play school in! We all slept upstairs (we brought a travel crib) with the older two children sharing the upstairs day bed (there are more beds downstairs but the kids preferred being with us). Having the kitchen and dining table was very convenient and the cottage had nice touches like soft towels and a well stocked coffee machine. The location is great for skiing. It’s under 10 mins to Jiminy and there are restaurants, a country store, and a coffee shop very close by. The owners are super helpful, flexible, and communicative.

Charming and Memorable

My Mom and I planned a New England tour this Summer and we were lucky enough to find the Stone School Cottage. Cheryl and Rich were super helpful and easy to work with. The Stone School Cottage had so much charm and was so unique that it made this portion of our trip days to remember. We spent most of our days traveling to the Brimfield Flea Market and had the best time. It was a distance (about 1.5 hours) from Lanesboro to Brimfield, but the easy interstate access worked well for us. We loved the charming schoolhouse set-up and the history of the place. We loved the grilled muffins at Bob's Country Kitchen and went there every morning for breakfast. If we go back to the Berkshires we will definitely want a repeat stay.

Such a piece of history

I cannot compliment Cheryl enough. She thought of everything when decorating the old school from the chalkboard filled with notes from old students to the collection of books and desks. My sister and I had such an extraordinarily wonderful time staying at the school for five nights. It was unseasonably warm and Cheryl provided extra fans, fresh flowers and the friendliness every single day. Not often do you meet a host that you want to stay in contact with. The whole of the village was like that everywhere we stopped. The location was perfect. We drove just a few miles to a beautiful hike. The country road with the rescue ponies, alpacas and horses and wildflowers was perfect for an evening walk. The lake, the ice cream shops and farm stands, just magical. Thank you so much. Shannon
