Two bedroom and two full bath home located on a wooded lot. Newly remodeled and furnished with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Outdoor seating to enjoy the sunset and for relaxing after a day of sightseeing or enjoying the many local activities. A firepit is available for roasting hotdogs and making smores.

Located close to I 81 and I 70 this property offers easy access to many local attractions and year round outdoor recreational areas. If your in the area for work this location offers easy access to major traffic corridors and a great place to decompress after a day at work.

Things to do: Franklin County Military Trail of History (a driving tour), Finders Keepers an antique trail, the Sweet Trails of Franklin County and the Pour trail (craft beer and wineries).
Check out these attractions and recreational areas Whitetail Golf and Ski resort , Greencastle Green Golf Club, Great Cove Golf Club, Tuscarora and Appalachian hiking and biking trails. History abounds in this area with Gettysburg and Antietam Civil War parks, C & O Canal and Mercersburg home of James Buchanan and the Mercersburg Academy.

There are many local wineries to visit. Gettysburg Winery, Jan -Zell, Reid's Orchard & Winery, Jack's Hard Cider and more.

Cozy and convenient

We booked this place for a short weekend so we can board at Whitetail. Only a 15 minute drive to and from the mountain. We will definitely be staying here again.

Cabin in the Woods!

Absolutely loved this little getaway. Felt very much like a cabin in the woods. Quiet, great location, clean, comfortable and completely stress free from booking to checkout. Will absolutely be returning here on our next visit to Whitetail.

Autumn Getaway

We enjoyed our stay here, the house was very comfortable and well-appointed. We loved the fireplace, the lights on the deck, and were happy it was stocked with games -- we had fun asking each other Trivia questions. We also got to see a deer wander onto the lower part of the property. Would definitely recommend & would stay there again.

Home away from home

The property is a great hideaway. Our children love the open space to play while we are able to sit on the patio. We were able to see deer, turkeys, and turtles. The owners are very friendly and answer questions promptly. We would stay again when in the area, if available.

The property was located in the valley in a wooded area and the surroundings were beautiful. The owner was so helpful and friendly. It was easy to get to town but there are rolling hill roads which are interesting for sightseeing.

Wonderful Hosts

This is our second time at this property. It’s about 20 minutes from Whitetail Resort. It was a great place to wind down after a day of skiing. Spacious and comfortable. Because of heavy snowfall in the afternoon, there was about 4 inches or more of snow in the driveway and my car got stuck. I went up the wrong driveway, but in any case both driveways were snow covered and impassible unless you had chains. Even with four-wheel-drive our wheels were spinning. Had to leave the car parked in the lane overnight, and the next day before I even got up the host had dug me out and parked my car (I left the keys for him) in front of the house. He told me where to take a walk up the lane where I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the snowfall in the woods. Had a lovely time.

Perfect for Families, About 18 minutes to Whitetail

Great having sleeping rooms at opposite ends of the house for quiet and privacy. Cozy family room where we could unwind and watch Nerflix. Great price point for 2 bed 2 bath though the high fees ended up doubling the cost. Back rounds can be tricky if roads are snowy. Nice having washinger and dryer as my boys wanted to wash their ski socks, etc. enjoyed our stay!

Great Place and Great Host

Overall, we had a great experience with the property and the host. Cozy space with enough room for some personal space. The place was very clean upon arrival, and our host was sure to reach out beforehand to ensure our couch-bed was prepared for us. We had some trouble with ice on the driveway but had no issue communicating with Denise to work around it. She was friendly and amazing at responding with plenty of information with very little turnaround time.

Tucked away in the woods

We lived in this area for many years before relocating to Upstate New York. This was the first Thanksgiving and we wanted to come back and be with family. The Cool Hollow Hideaway was perfect for this! Clean, comfortable and with many homey touches. We enjoyed it very much!!
