This cozy beach cottage is located just footsteps from the sand in Mission Beach. Walk 2 minutes to the bay or ocean. Features 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, spacious living room with a sofa bed, fully supplied kitchen, outdoor patio with gas BBQ. It includes air conditioning and parking, both a rare luxury in this area. Also included are two beach cruiser bicycles, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, sand toys & boogie boards. Ideal space for 2 to 4 people.

Janet & Scott are your hosts. We are a husband and wife team and we live nearby. We own and operate Mission Beach Villas, a highly rated vacation rental management business in San Diego.

We are available 7 am to 10 pm to answer questions during your stay.

Our storefront rental office, Mission Beach Villas, is a mile away as well, so if you need anything feel free to stop by! If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate.

Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.

The best thing about the neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance you may not need a car. You could just take a taxi from the airport (6 miles away), get dropped off here and you're at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.

The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non commercial area. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it's very removed from the tourist noise. It is off of the main boulevard and on one of the tiny inner courts with friendly neighbors and a quiet homey atmosphere.

Recreational opportunities abound. The beach cottage is within walking distance to Santa Clara point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available in all of these activities. What's more there are free yoga classes on the beach each day at the end of our court.

It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location accessible to the action if that's what you want.

There is a fantastic surf spot at the beach for beginner to advanced surfers and great for spectators as well. There are affordable surf lessons offered daily on the beach by our friends at Surfari Surf School. What's more, we can point you to all the best surf spots in San Diego County. And we have two world class board shapers who live on our court in case you want to get a new surf board while you are here.

We offer keyless digital entry for this cottage. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4 digit passcode to remember.

Included with the rental is the use of boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, sand toys for the kids, and the use of two beach cruiser bikes. We supply a combination bike lock and two bike helmets. The bikes are bit rusty from the ocean breeze but they are great for cruising on the boardwalk. And you'll look like a true local on them. If you need more bikes or kid bikes there is a rental shop just a 3 minute walk away that has very affordable daily rental rates.

If you bring a car we will provide you with one parking space on site behind the garage. Keep in mind that the space will accommodate only a mid sized car. A mini van or compact SUV might fit but anything larger will need to park on the street. (Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a car.)

This cozy little beach cottage is positioned in the heart of Mission Beach, a gorgeous beach community on a super narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Walk in either direction (West or East) and you'll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you'll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you'll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you'll call it paradise. We simply call it home!

The cottage features one bedroom, one bathroom, spacious living room, and a fully supplied kitchen. There is a Queen size bed in the bedroom and a Full-size sofa bed in the living room. The space is 750 square feet.

The kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave, blender, and a coffee maker. We supply you with all the cooking pans, dishes, and utensils you might need. There are the usual kitchen gadgets such as bottle openers and cork screws.

The living room comes complete with a flat screen TV. It is equipped with Roku which includes Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and many other channel options available with your login credentials. We also offer free WIFI and plenty of outlets to keep you plugged in.

The house comes supplied with the basics you'd expect at any hotel like a hair dryer and iron. Plus you have a kitchen and living room to enjoy. We think of everything you might need and even stock you with beach towels so you don't need to pack those in your suitcase. Why stay at a hotel when you can stay in the comfort of your own home in a friendly neighborhood? Vacation like a local.

If you don't bring a car you will be fine. Many guests come without one and get around quite easily. Restaurants, shops and convenience stores are within walking distance.

It is less than a 10-15 minute walk to Belmont Park where there is a giant roller coaster, rides, restaurants, bars, and shops.

Uber/Lyft options are readily available for local transport at an affordable rate. If you've never used this service before download the phone app and you may find a discount code for first-time riders online.

Riding bikes along the boardwalk is usually the most scenic way to get around and take in the atmosphere. We provide 2 beach cruiser bicycles. But if you need any more or a child seat or child bike there is a rental shop called "Cheap Rentals" just 2 blocks away that rents by the hour, day, or the week. They also rent surfboards, wetsuits, standup paddle boards and a lot of other fun beach equipment.

There is also a bus stop a few yards away that travels down Mission Blvd and will take you to Old Town in minutes. At Old Town there is a major transportation hub where you can transfer to any other bus line or transfer to the Trolley (San Diego's metro line) which will take you downtown.

Due to insurance reasons, the person booking must be at least 25 years old to book and must upload a photo of government ID to the host within 24 hours of booking.

Please note that we have occupancy based pricing in our settings. Please select the correct number of people in your group at the time of booking to get the correct pricing for your stay. Keep in mind, if you add more people to your group after booking the rate may adjust slightly. There is an additional charge of $20 per night for each additional person after the initial 2 people. This keeps our rates low and affordable for our average group size for this listing and helps us charge an appropriate fee for the additional linens and utilities used by a larger group size. The pictured fireplace in the backyard is not operational. If you want to gather around a fire, we can make recommendations for fires on the beach instead.

Let us know if you plan on using the air bed so we can supply an extra set of bedding.

During the winter months the provided space heaters are usually adequate to keep the place warm.

If you need laundry done there is a laundromat within walking distance that offers drop-off service at an affordable weight based fee. You can just drop it off in the morning and they will have it ready and neatly folded for you by the end of the day.

We can connect you up with a private bonfire on the beach for an extra fee. Includes set up and take down, portable steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s'mores. A perfect activity while waiting for the nightly summer Sea World fireworks over the bay. Inquire for details.

Are you into yoga? There is free beach daily just a 3 minute walk from the property. No yoga mats are required. Just bring beach towels and water and you are all set. (It's donation based so maybe bring some cash for the instructor. )

Want family pictures on the beach? What better backdrop for a group shot than the stunning backdrop of the ocean or bay at sunset! For an extra fee we can arrange for a local portrait photographer to do a photo session of your family on the beach. Let us know in advance if you're interested and we can make an appointment with the photographer during your stay.

The beach cottage is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the maid to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. Please give us one day's notice so we can get this scheduled.
