Perfect desert family retreat!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The house was so well curated and peaceful and the communication with the hosts was so easy and straight forward.As someone who has sensitivities to scents, I really appreciated their use of natural cleaning products, detergents and pool chemicals.Our family had such a relaxing and fun stay and it was the ideal place to enjoy a starry night in the hot tub, and a quick ride into town or to Joshua Tree National Park for an adventure!

Exceptional home close to Joshua Tree NP

Calico landing was a wonderful location to stay for our family's visit to Joshua Tree National Park. The home was completely stocked, including games our children loved to play. Being able to spend some time in the hot tub and watch the stars at night added to the overall experience of our desert vacation. Our kids enjoyed being able to swim a little one of the afternoons as well. The hosts were very helpful with wonderful communication, streamlining the entire process. We could not have picked a better location for visiting Joshua Tree!

Home away from home in the desert

We felt very comfortable staying in this beautiful house. It was very clean and well cared for. We enjoyed using the hot tub and fire pit. Perfect for a night of star gazing! We hiked the High View Trail and West Loop at the nearby trail head. Amazing mountain views! Kristian was very attentive and helpful whenever we had any questions.

Winter getaway in Yucca Valley

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is very nicely appointed and furnished. Everything is up to date and comfortable. We were there on a few cold partially rainy days. The hot tub was fantastic. The weather was too cold to use the pool, but also the pool wasn't heated unless you paid extra. It was a short drive to several fun places to eat and hang out, and of course, it was very easy to drive into Joshua Tree National Park.

Wonderful long weekend getaway

Let me start by saying I'm always weary of house rentals because it never quite matches up what you see online. This was NOT the case when staying at Calico landing. The online images and description are completely accurate in the best way possible. The house was very cute, clean, and incredibly well-stocked with everything you need (besides groceries) for a fun and relaxing weekend. The host was kind enough to let us drop our bags and food off early before exploring Joshua Tree, and they were quick to respond throughout the weekend. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Loved this place

Loved this house, is brand new and everything is as described. Everything is new and it has everything that you can think of to be comfortable. I will say I expected the area to be more deserted but it has quite a bit of neighbors, but even with the neighbors the area is extremely quiet. I also have to comment on the owners/hostess they were very attentive and made our stay even more enjoyable, they are very responsive and I appreciated that.

We chose this location in Yucca Valley for its breathtaking desert landscape, serene atmosphere, and stunning panoramic views. The peacefulness of the area provides the perfect escape from busy city life, while still being close to Joshua Tree National Park and other attractions. We wanted to create a space where guests can relax, rejuvenate, and connect with nature, all while enjoying modern luxury. The desert's beauty and tranquility truly make it a special place, and we love being able to share that experience with our guests.

Our 2 acre lot delivers serenity with an abundance of privacy. There are 250+ native plants on the property comprising of Ocotillos, Joshua Trees, Junipers, Yuccas, Palo Verdes, Cacti and many many more. During your stay you may catch a glimpse of a few wild life animals - chipmunks, quails, owls, jack rabbits, you name it

The living room is equipped with plenty of comfortable seating options - perfect for great conversation and game nights. One glimpse from the couch transports you to the most spectacular view of the property, looking out the oversized patio sliding doors. The patio doors open up to a covered patio deck where you can enjoy a cozy night by the fire pit.

Just a few steps down from the main patio, you can enjoy our modern, 30ft. heated pool and spa. (Pool season April-October. The spa can be heated upon request to enjoy year round.)

The first bedroom features an abstract mural, Canyon Arched Canopy Bed with a queen sized memory foam mattress. The bathroom located in the hallway, just a few steps away, comes equipped with a rain shower.

The main bedroom features dramatic floor to ceiling curtains and a plush oversized California King bed with a hybrid mattress. The en suite bathroom can make all of your spa dreams come true. You have an option of a nice epsom soak in the bath or a eucalyptus shower experience.

The kitchen is well-appointed with an electric oven/stove, dishwasher, Galanz refrigerator and microwave, and wine fridge. We keep Joshua Tree coffee beans stocked and many Stash tea options. You can brew with an OXO 9-cup coffee maker or Chemex pour over. The glass pantry off the kitchen comes equipped with games, yoga mats, mixology set, and outdoor supplies.
