Perfect stay in Waikiki

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the perfect place for me to stay for my weeklong vacation! Having a kitchen and free parking were the biggest perks of this rental. The parking was super convenient and the space was one of the first in the garage so it was easy to quickly enter and exit the garage. The kitchen was perfect. I didn’t cook but the freezer was perfect for me to pack my cooler for my long beach days. The rental was very clean. I found the bed to be comfortable and the shower was great. The rental is exactly as it appears online and I found it to be a great value.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the first time I staid at this property. I thought the process of first getting into the property was straight forward. Both the lobby and property were clean. If you don't mind being in the center of things and the noise, it is a great location. The complaints that I have is that it might be time to replace the mattress and cushions on the coach.

2025 Visit

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was comfortable and the parking provided for a car was a plus. It was nice to have amenities to make coffee and simple breakfast in the morning. We didn’t really cook in the unit but having a coffee drip maker and microwave was handy.The murphy bed is full size and realized it didn’t work well for 2 sleepers. My partner is 175 lbs and I’m 105 lbs. I prefer a firmer mattress and the bed was too soft. The unit and amenities have seen better days but mostly accurate as displayed. The bathroom is okay but didn’t seem it was thoroughly cleaned. Sink fixtures had scum and issues with tub drainage. However, shower water pressure was good.“Check-in instructions with vehicle” should be updated. The instructions indicated to temporarily park car in front of Marine Surf on Seaside Ave; and dial for security. This was confusing and we circled in traffic to find a temporary parking a few blocks away. As it turned out it wasn’t necessary and possible to drive into our assigned parking to avoid the hassle. The magnetic key provided for our unit was labeled a different identifier than our unit but worked. Recommend correcting the label consistent to room number to avoid confusion.

Simple and Clean, Could Use Some Improvements

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: To be fair, I have stayed in approximately 15 other units located in the Marine Surf building. It is an older building, BUT the location can not be beat, and having a parking spot is premium. With MS 1612 if you are just looking for a place to sleep, then this place is good. After staying in this unit for 10 days, the following are my thoughts compared to others places I have stayed. (This is my 48th trip for work to Waikiki)First the good:Clean, location is excellent, property management is attentive and quick to respond. Access to parking and getting into the unit is excellent.The areas that could use improvement: The bed is only a full size and not particularly comfortable. I went to Walmart and purchased a cheap egg crate that helped. The 'wall bed' is really not the best use of the space. No bed side table for phone/watch charger. I moved a stool from under the TV to use. The 'seating' is lacking. The couch sits at an angle so seeing the TV requires you to either 'move' the couch or **** your head and neck into a less than comfortable position. There are some 'springs' on the couch that are starting to poke you when you sit down. No place except the floor to sit a drink if you are sitting reading, watching TV, etc.Not comfortable to sit on the bed because there is a gap between the top of the mattress and the wall. Pillows slip through. The kitchen utensils/dishes need some attention. There were only 2 spoons and the other utensils need to be updated. Normally, there would be some minimal 'cleaning' supplies but this unit only provided dish soap. Nothing to spray the cabinets after cleaning up from a meal, etc. The shower head is detachable/magnetic. Absolutely hated it. Easily knocked off if you accidently hit the shower head or tried to adjust. A novelty, but a pain to use. And lastly, there is NO chairs, etc. on the lanai. You can't sit outside and see the ocean or enjoy the outside. Never had that happen before.

Lots of good restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance.Check in and checkout was very easy. Alii Beach Rental staff easy to communicate with and responded quickly if we had questions.Our unit had a parking space which was very convenient. Having a small kitchenette was also very convenient. Washer and dryer located on our floor easily accessible. Unit was very clean.

Overall, a pretty good stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Generally good. Pros:Centrally located, reasonable good clean condition. The double Murphy bed was comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, new pots and pans, pretty new small appliances (we only used the toaster). Included parking was appreciated. Small problem with shower temperature was dealt with immediately.Cons:Dirty grout on tile floor, especially surrounding the toilet.Some minor dents and scuff marks on walls. The condo is half a block away from a bar that plays very loud music well into the evening, this could be a problem for people who do not sleep well. Also, the neighborhood garbage trucks make a lot of noise around 5:30-6:00 AM.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at the Marine Surf before so decided to book again. Although this unit was clean, I felt there could be some improvements. A "normal bed" or better mattress, night stand(s) beside bed was my main concern. Would be nice to include 2 beach chairs and umbrella for renters to use like some other units. This unit faces a noisy street with loud music every night coming from a restaurant or bar so bring earplugs for when you sleep. Great parking spot though, right near the parkade entance. I will look for a different unit next year unless the bed/mattress and at least 1 nightstand is included/upgraded. If that is done, I will definitely re-book!
