I am a bookkeeper by profession, a nature lover at heart, and a proud mother of a 16 yo girl and 9 yo boy. My husband, Mark, and I love adventuring in nature and trying new things. Camping is the most frequent way we adventure here in the Appalachian Mountains. A boat in campsite on lake Jocassee, in South Carolina, is one of our favorite yearly routines.
I grew up in Vermont and have spent time living in, what I feel, are some of the most wonderful places in the United States! Captiva Island, Fl (on a little houseboat), Berkley, CA (across the bay from San Francisco), Tassajara Zen center in Carmel Vally, CA, Santa Fe, NM and Durango, CO.
When Mark and I began feeling like we wanted to relocate from Colorado, I thought of the Blue Ridge Parkway, which has been a very special place for me since hiking the Appalachian trail in 1999. We flew out to visit, discovered Asheville (a place I did not visit when thru-hiking years ago) and fell in love immediately.
Having relocated to Asheville in 2008. Mark and I have lived in North, West and for the past several years, East Asheville. Asheville is a delightful place that offers so much! We are very happy to be raising our children here and to have this wonderful place to call home.
