Welcome, thank you for stopping by! Usually this property has a 28 night minimum stay. However, we'd be happy to welcome you for a weekend rental if the space is not rented. Weekend rentals will be more than the monthly price shown. You must be over 25 years of age to rent. The price shown is correct. It is already discounted for longer stays. We do not allow any animals of any kind or designation in this space, sorry.

Welcome to our totally renovated approximately 850 sq ft space located DIRECTLY ON THE C & D canal with unobstructed views and 2 private entrances for you. The entire space is entirely lockable. You will see everything from tankers to amazing speed boats to nimble jet skis depending on the time of year. Additionally, Chesapeake City has many events. Check their calendar.

We are located off the beaten path but walkable to the south side of town. (The side the Chesapeake Inn is on.) In the summer, you will be able to hear the live bands playing at Schaffers located across the canal. We are far enough away to make them sound like piped in background music. The volume from the bridge traffic is very low as well.

We have room for you to park your boat or skis on our property. Please let us know in advance. The Chesapeake City launch ramp is under 5 minutes away and it is FREE (at the time of this writing). If you are visiting Newark DE or the University of DE, we are located a convenient distance from there as well.....

ABOUT THE SPACE
This space is a one bedroom with dining area, living area, kitchenette, deluxe air fryer / broiler / grill all in one countertop oven, a portable 2 burner stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, and full-size refrigerator. The unit also includes one private full bath with shower and a private office area including a sit to stand desk, office chair & a computer monitor. For longer stays guests have full access to their own washer and dryer.

In the bedroom you will find a KING size PURPLE PLUS mattress. There is also an electric fireplace for chilly winter nights and a 55" LG TV streaming APPLE TV+. The main living space is set up with a LOVESAC sofa everyone seems to find very comfortable. The living space also includes another 55" LG TV, electric fireplace and 2 single twin beds with gel mattresses located on the fireplace hearth. Your office area beyond the living room looks out onto the backyard and is accessed by glass sliders. There, you will find a sit to stand desk and office chair offering a relaxing view of the back yard. I love working from that space!

PLEASE KEEP THE UNIT CLEAN. To keep costs down, cleaning services are not provided during your stay. We provide a vacuum, cleanser, mops, sponges, and anything else you may need. Just ask. We look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for reviewing this ad.

YOUR OUTDOOR SPACE AND TOWN OF CHESAPEAKE CITY
The canal side of the unit includes your private patio area, a rocker chair, table and (seasonable) outdoor seating for 4. From it you have a direct view of the canal. Please feel free to wave to the dog walkers you will see daily. If you choose to hit the trails, or walk along the canal walk out, and turn left. There is a wooded area, or you can stroll along the canal. Turn to the right, and the town of Chesapeake City is located a few blocks away. There you can explore quaint shops and fabulous dining. In town you will find The CHESAPEAKE INN, THE BAYNARD HOUSE, PRIME 225, THE TAP ROOM, CAFE BY THE BAY (breakfast, coffee) and THE RUM BAR. The RUM BAR is not a full restaurant, they offer premium rums, appetizers and a view of the Chesapeake Inn marina and live entertainment. Most of the spaces mentioned above offer live entertainment in the summer. They are all delightful!
Schaffers and Bakers restaurants are located on the north side of Chesapeake City. They are a short drive over the Chesapeake bridge shown in the photos. Bakers offers live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night year-round. Schaffers has an incredible outdoor space their patrons love. They also offer a delicious Sunday brunch and live entertainment in the summer. NEWARK, DE is also close by if you are visiting their campus, dining, or attending football games this space may work. Other nearby attractions include Chateau bu de winery and The Kitty Knight house. Both are a short drive down RT 213 south. Both offer spectacular views. The Kitty Knight house offers a marina view.

This space is offered as a short-term rental with parking for one car. Additional charges will apply to cars parked for longer than 2 nights. All rentals must be paid in advance.

This space is the walkout basement of our primary residence with 2 private entrances. The entire space is lockable. You may hear us and we may hear you. The HVAC and some refrigerators are downstairs, you may hear them as well. We have cats. If you do not want to meet them, we have left a spray bottle of water you can use to deter them. If you like cats, you will love them. They are sweet, very curious, and friendly. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM INTO THIS SPACE. We have been very careful about this. The guests after you may be allergic. Additionally, we do not allow any animals of any kind or designation in this space, sorry.

Wonderful Spot!

We stayed 4 nights and it was the perfect place! Plenty of space, nicely decorated, lovely view of the canal, and very close to all that Chesapeake City has to offer. Wonderfully clean and the manager couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful! We hope to stay again next year! Thank you!

Relaxing trip

We had a wonderful time. The home was very clean and private. The owner lives upstairs but we barely noticed. The location is the best view of the C&D Canal. Walkable to downtown Cheaapeake City and all the charming businesses. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect location

Decided to stay at this property mainly because of close proximity to the downtown area. Definitely glad I did. It was a beautiful place, near everything, nice owners. Only negative I would have is the bed is super hard. If you don’t like a hard bed definitely bring a bed topper.

Great Place

This property was a great spot for our weekend trip to Chesapeake City. Walking distance to the town center but off the beaten path enough to enjoy the peaceful views of the canal from their well maintained porch/property. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay within the area as the owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

Design with a View

This property looks brand new, 'cause it is. Attention to detail to design process and accessories is evident. We were a family of 5 and loved our stay. The young adults said the gel toppers and single beds were super comfortable, as was the King bed. We brought sound machines but did not hear HVAC at all. We did hear a few footsteps above but minimal. The location is stunning . Communication with owner was super fast. Clearly owners are trying hard, and it shows. Highly recommend.

CHESAPEAKE CITY Great View!

We wanted to visit some of the local wineries and enjoy our boat as well. When we read we could park it here, we were in! We arrived early and dropped our bags inside then, off to the free launch ramp. We enjoyed the C & D, then, back to the property to clean the boat and try CHATEAU BU-DE winery which was a very short drive away. Our experience was delightful, and after purchasing a couple of bottles, we made our way back to the property showered and enjoyed a delightful meal and direct view of the C & D canal at the BAYNARD HOUSE. The space is new, clean, well appointed, and just wonderful. Sipping our morning coffee checking out all the boats while being lulled to sleep by the bands at Schaffers was a delight! Thank you we will return!

They have everything you could want !

What a whirlwind time we had when we stay at this property. The purpose of our trip was to tour the Unv of DE campus with our son. Buttt, since this property said we could park our boat, we decided to have a little more fun. The owners said since no one was checking out in front of us or coming in behind, we could arrive as early as we wanted to. We appreciated that and took full advantage. We arrived early, dropped the boat, and had a bite at CAFÉ ON THE BAY. Then quickly drove back to the house and launched (for free) for an morning / afternoon spin on the C&D. We were able to clean off the boat when we arrived back at the property and make our way to the UNV of DE. The tour was fabulous! The UNV is a real contender. Afterwards we enjoyed nachos at KLONDIKE KATES then parked the car and enjoyed some live entertainment at the Chesapeake Inn. What a conveniently located well-appointed property! We had everything we needed, towels, dishes, coffee, and a fridge for our snacks. It was super clean and comfortable. Lastly, WHAT A VIEW! Speedboats, of course and jet skis, but we also saw a tug pulling a barge and a tanker. This stay will be a lasting fond memory. This property will also be on the short list should we decide the UNV of DE is where he is going!! Cleanliness, views, location, and easy parking! Thank you!
