Great for families!

Cathleen was super easy to talk to and answered all of my questions! We were in town for my college graduation and we’re only 7 minutes from Chase Field! 10/10 in all aspects. My daughters had the best time with all of the board games and toys throughout the house! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, washing your dishes and she even provided coffee/tea along with cream and sugar. Super cute decor items throughout the property as well! There is a grill out back you can use and there was charcoal provided, we didn’t get to use it but definitely appreciate the opportunity to use it! Overall very clean property, easy to find, very close to downtown. Absolutely recommend staying here!

Good Overall Experience

I think this property falls under the category of “getting what you pay for” and for this price I don’t really know what other reviewers were expecting. The house is in the ghetto but we figured that out before our stay from reading other reviews and chose the house anyway. The property itself is nicely managed and thoughtfully appointed by hosts. The decor is cute and homey and they really try to make it nice while keeping it budget friendly. The host was exceptional at communicating beforehand and during our stay and went out of her way to accommodate some of our special needs. Some other things I will mention just for the sake of information: - The beds are quite firm - There is a rooster across the street that crows nonstop starting at the crack of dawn - The neighborhood is pretty noisy at night, earplugs recommended - If you have an issue with artificial air fresheners like we do, you’ll be happy to know they don’t use them here Overall, it met our needs and we really did get what we paid for. We are grateful.

Renter Beware

Choose this property for its location to I-10 & I-17, mountain & city views. The four reviews were also good. The photos & description of the property led us to believe that it is an area that is experiencing revitalization. While this is somewhat true there is a long way to go. The photos showed beautiful mountain & city views. VERY MISLEADING. From the front balcony you look at a home in very poor condition with abandoned vehicles, appliances & a 55 gallon flammable drum. The city view is there if you stand toward the end of the window in the bedroom - you see this as well as the neighborhood homes that have yet to be cleaned up. What we were not prepared for was the number of adults, garbage and what we suspect as illegal activity in the streets. There was a large group on 16th street (within 150 feet) gathered around a fire in the street. Cars were pulling up, conducting their business and quickly gone. As we stood outside the unit discussing our options it was obvious that we were being checked out. In our opinion this is NOT A SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD for out of town visitors. We phoned VRBO who connected us to the property owners who focused only on the interior of the unit. They refused to acknowledge the exterior issues and told us to call the police. We did not stay in the unit and will dispute the issue further with VRBO.

Would not recommend

We will start with the pros: Nice size house and nice bedding. Now the cons: This is a VERY rough area. We heard guns shooting for hours one night, there are homeless people in the vacant lot across the street and around the corner from the house. There is a gate but no true lock and you share the gate with another rental. The description of a city view is laughable but I really don't care about that. The lie that really got me was listing a hot tub and dishwasher as included amenities. Why would you lie about this or anything in the house? I know first world problems to do dishes by hand and I didn't get to soak after a long drive, but if I pay for something based on that description I expect it to be there. *I reported these lies after the 24 hr check in window. VRBO did nothing but call the host and left a voicemail. They then told us it was to their (the host's) discretion as to whether we should receive any refund based on them lying in the description. Guess who we never heard from. I am a light sleeper so I had ear plugs and a noise machine and still heard trains through the night. Beds too firm for me but others may like. Master bathroom shower is awkward and cold. No need for an alarm as the roosters across the street will wake you up. I would never stay here again and I don't think I will be using VRBO anymore either.
