Bay House is a natural retreat ideally situated for your stay in Nova Scotia. Being on the Lighthouse Route you will find many options for eating out and and sight seeing. Experience local maritime culture with day trips to Halifax (30 mins), Oak Island, Mahone Bay, Chester and Lunenburg. Our guests enjoy a pleasant mix of relaxing on the ocean, evenings enjoying the waterfront view by the fire pit or on our expansive wrap-around deck and unique day trips to the many local restaurants and places to see.
Boaters will note the private wharf and mooring available for guests. The seasonal dock has a swimming ladder, fresh water & an electrical hook-up. There's easy entry to the water for swimming, a double hammock and fire pit with plenty of chairs for seating.
You will also love the interior features and extensive amenities in the villa, as well as the outdoor spaces and oceanfront.
Environmentally friendly heating and cooling is provided with a high efficiency heat pump and electric thermal storage units. Our natural well water is sourced from acres of natural land replenished from nearby Wooden's river. A whole-home generator also provides guaranteed interruption-free backup power no matter what the eventuality for your entire stay.
We also provide an exclusive digital guidebook as an downloadable app to help you navigate the Lighthouse Route along the coast of Nova Scotia. You will find entries for all the many tourist attractions and as well as hidden gems off the beaten path.

The villa is surrounded by unique and beautiful mature gardens - landscaping was designed by the former president of the local St Margarets Bay Gardening Club. Bay House has also been certified by the Canadian Wildlife Federation as a Wildlife Friendly Habitat. Yoga mats are provided for our guests to enjoy the tranquil grounds and reconnect with nature.
Before you book, please be aware of the following:
- For safety, only children who are 8 years and older are permitted (due to natural hazards on the property). Children must be supervised at all times. Please message us with the ages of any children staying at the villa.
- The natural sloping property would make it difficult for those with mobility issues to reach the waterfront. Though the view from the deck at the house is also very nice.
- There is an outside security camera that points towards the front door area.
