We stayed at this particular condo in 2011 and LOVED it. It had everything one needed and was beautiful. Unfortunately we had to evacuate two days early because of a hurricane so we didn't get to enjoy all seven days. Fast forward to July 2016:
When we arrived at the unit this time, things had changed. Instead of 2 shelves full of glasses, there wre only 3 glasses. There were no serving or mixing bowls, and there were fewer cooking and baking utensils. There was a new fridge and living room furniture. The fridge had two broken shelves, and the couch unit, which had a recliner at each end was broken on one end and sagged. It was hard to work and it looked terrible. The toilet paper holders in all 3 bathrooms were either broken or loose. The verticle blinds in the 2 front bedrooms were broken and would not close properly. My husband was able to fix one, but not the other. But the worst part was, when my daughter used the Jacuzzi the first night, the owner of the business below us came up and told us something was leaking water into his business. We called Mr. Bowling's agent, Celeste, and left a message. She got back to us the next day and when we told her all of the issues she got on it immediately. She sent service men to fix things and a plumber to look at the Jacuzzi. She arrived with mixing bowls and new glasses and was shocked at the condition of the furniture as it was new this season.
I understand Mr. Bowling had no control over how his unit was treated by others but he should have had someone inspect it each time someone left to make sure it was ready for the next renter. We could have stayed at a place half the price but the Jacuzzi sealed the deal. We payed a LOT of extra money for that feature. I was insulted to receive only a $325.00 refund even though I realize he didn't have to give us anything. I am a semi-invalid. And except for the 3 nights we ate out, I spent my entire vacation in the home. To say I was extremely disappointed, is an understatement. I wrote him a letter explaining my disappointment, but he apparently didn't read it as I got a form email stating that he had issued a partial refund and to check my mail! To top it off, next year there will be less parking as a new tower is being built in half the parking lot.
The location was great and the balcony was wonderful but it was hard getting to the beach. You had to go out the back, walk half a block to get to the side street to get to the boardwalk. I never made it.
