Discover a hidden gem of a bygone era. Our cozy, spacious, immaculate, tastefully designed, and private detached guest house is in a quaint historic neighborhood created in the 1920's that invites you to take a stroll and soak in the charm of a different era. We're conveniently located 10 minutes from the airport and within walking distance or very short drive from many concert venues (including The Van Buren, Crescent Ballroom, The Nash, Arizona Financial Theatre, Orpheum Theatre, Symphony Hall), sports stadiums (including Chase Field and Footprint Center), great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and lots of attractions.

This private and quiet studio casita with one comfy queen-size bed is well-stocked with lots of amenities to make your stay comfortable.

Beautiful, lush, serene, quiet backyard with private patio area to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon/evening drinks and watch the chickens while taking in a 360 view of one of the prettiest backyards you'll ever experience.

The guest house was recently constructed and is spacious, immaculate, and tastefully decorated/detailed with all the amenities you'll need. It's located in the enchanting and picturesque backyard of our historic home. The guest house is a separate structure on the policy you'll have all to yourself. Mature and lush landscaping provides a serene outdoor environment, including several inviting seating areas as well as your own private patio where you can enjoy watching the chickens. (No rooster!)

The casita includes contactless check-in using the door keypad, on-street free parking, new comfy queen bed, high quality linens, large wardrobe cabinet, fridge, microwave, two-burner hot plate, toaster oven, dishes, pots/pans, coffee-maker, blender, other kitchen essentials, spacious bathroom and shower, plus high-speed private WiFi, and 42" Smart TV.

We can also provide a Pack 'n Play with linens, high chair, and inflatable twin air mattress upon request

We only had one night at the Hen House and that was not enough. This property is so beautiful and relaxing! All of the lights that come on in the garden at night are stunning. The hosts were so kind and very communicative. I would most certainly recommend staying here!

Wonderful little retreat in downtown Phoenix

Very cozy clean sweet little cottage nestled in a beautiful garden in the historic district of downtown Phoenix. Casita has everything we needed and we had a wonderful time. We loved the convenient location of being downtown.

Cute Casita

We only stayed for one night but it was perfect for us. The casita is a great little place that had everything we needed for our stay. The proximity to downtown was great, we walked down there in about 30 minutes and took a short Lyft ride back. The hosts have thought of pretty much everything and are very friendly. We would definitely stay again if we needed a place in town.

The Hen House

The location is close to downtown and many restaurants. We went to a concert at the Az Financial Theater and it was very nice to be close by yet tucked away in a lovely, quiet neighborhood after the event. The hosts were thorough in explaining check in and out and were very friendly, we felt very comfortable there We would definitely stay again

Peaceful Getaway

What a beautiful property and little casita. We loved it! In fact, we didn't even go out to dinner because we didn't want to leave the lovely space. Took a stroll thru the historic neighborhood in the evening - so charming. We loved every minute of it. Larry was a great host - communicative, personable and welcoming while giving us our space. A wonderful experience.

Married at the Irish Cultural Center and spent one night at the Hen House. Arrived late in the evening, but ran into zero problems with access. The atmosphere was refreshing and offered more than we were able to take advantage of during our short stay. Highly recommend it!

Daughter’s Engagement

Came to Phoenix for a long weekend for my daughter’s surprise engagement. Loved this property! I’ve stayed at several other casita’s in the area and this is my favorite. They communicated so incredibly well with a book of information provided. The casita was stocked with all my needs and the area outside made me feel like I was in the “country” near downtown Phoenix. Great little neighborhood. Larry and Kristi were super nice and engaging as well!

Hens, oranges, and happiness

Charming, secluded casita in a charming, walkable, safe, historic neighborhood. The owners were welcoming, charismatic and provided everything we could possibly need or want. Everything worked. We have five adult children, a delightful little rescue dog named Willetta who loves to get to know our guests, and four chickens that give us and our guests fresh eggs almost every day. We love to travel and always stay in hosted homes and bed & breakfasts, so we know what it takes to make a guest's experience wonderful and strive to achieve it for our guests. We also love historic homes and live in the main residence on the same property which was built in 1927!

If you like historic homes and staying in a lovely, quiet, quaint community during your stay, then you'll love our historic neighborhood and all the cool homes here! Hard to believe we're only a few minutes from all the hustle and bustle happening in downtown Phoenix. The casita -- we lovingly refer to it as "The Hen House" -- is located in the backyard of our primary residence that was built in 1927. The spacious studio guest house is very private and all you're own. You'll love our lush and beautiful shared backyard complete with a citrus orchard (grapefruits, oranges, tangelos, lemons), picket-fenced raised garden bed area, chicken coop & run with four cute chickens ever (no roosters), a variety of wonderful cozy covered and uncovered sitting areas/patios and firepits, patio dining table, bbq, etc. The backyard really is gorgeous and worth staying here in and of itself. And of course you'll love the cozy and comfy casita where you'll be staying. It's a recent addition to the property and has all the amenities you'll need (including fresh eggs and fruit if you'd like). The queen bed is new and really comfy! Everyone who has stayed at the Hen House loves it, and we have more than 100 consecutive five-star reviews on Airbnb. We're here to make your stay wonderful, so don't hesitate to ask us for anything you need while you're staying here.
