Idyllic 3-bd, 3 full bath mountain hideaway in a beautiful woodland setting with a rushing mountain stream running next to the back deck, complete with cascading waterfalls, in the quaint mountain town of Banner Elk!

Across the stream, we back up to Grandfather Mountain. Private access to hike Grandfather Mountain Profile Trail from our driveway.

We are 3 minutes from Sugar Mountain, and very close to all area attractions: Boone, Blowing Rock, Beech Mountain, Mast General Store, Linville, and more!

Brand new air conditioning units in the downstairs queen bedroom (window unit) and upstairs master bedroom (stand alone unit).

Remote work desktop monitor and desk in master bedroom with 300mbps of internet so speeds are not interrupted.

Love this one!

None of the rentals in this area is perfect but we really enjoyed this one!! Very well laid out condo… plenty of places for everyone to sleep!! Comfy furniture and easy to use tv. The real kicker tho is the location…. We spent ALL of our time playing in the creek out back and hiking up to Foscoe Overlook. You can pick up the trail just across the creek. The huge deck was perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. Quick trip up to great restaurants in Banner Elk, and Lowe’s Foods just up the road for cooking in!! Could it be a little cleaner?? Maybe. But they are literally all like that in the area so I’m guessing this one is as clean as it’s gonna get in Boone and it was fine. Well stocked kitchen too and plenty of blankets for cool evenings!! Really great place to stay for a family of four with extra beds in case the kids bring friends!!!

Great week away

Property was a great size for family of 4 (didn’t even need to use bottom floor bedroom). Outdoor space (deck) was great for grilling and the water was fun to explore and hear throughout the day. Quiet space was appreciated - we were close enough to local attractions but not close to crowds, so was wonderful. Highly recommend and we would happily stay again.

Great stay

We had a great time. The place is very comfortable. The brook in the back is beautiful. The beds were wonderful. We went to sugar mountain for tubing and ate at some great restaurants including Pedalin Pig and Luna's Thai and sushi. Everything is close by and easy to manage. The owners were great to communicate with and the place had everything we needed.

Winter/Snow trip

I have stayed in this property before and enjoyed it so much I came back and this year. We are Floridians so we travel up to see the snow and go snow tubing etc.. This location is great because you do feel like you are secluded but it is only 5-10 minutes to shopping, tubing and the alpine coaster. I think it would also be really nice in the summer months as it has a creek in the back.

Convenient location

This place was larger than I expected. Plenty of space for three couples. Came to town to snowboard and it was just a short drive over to Sugar Mountain. There was ice on the driveway when we got there and our friend without 4wd had a little trouble getting out but the neighbor was so nice and came out with a bag of sand and got them out quickly. Overall we had a great stay.

We chose this property for our family Tweetsie Christmas get away and we were not disappointed. The condo was perfect for our needs and approximately 25 minutes from Blowing Rock. It was very clean, easy to get to and beds were comfy. We all agreed we'd stay here again. Kyle was great to work with.

Convenient

Everything was just as listed. Bed was comfy and there was plenty of room. The furniture in the living room should probably be replaced soon. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Great stay in great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the two nights/three days we were there. The rental was extremely clean, well-furnished, and very spacious. The stream out back made for a wonderful time in early morning on the deck enjoying the view and solitude. The hosts were very helpful with informational about the area and two of the restaurants they recommended were fantastic. Definitely will rent again when we are in the Boone area!

We had enough time to unravel and rebuild while resting in this really well-appointed home as well as seeing several outstanding area attractions (Elk River Park and Grandfather Mountain. Yes, we did the swinging bridge (it doesn't swing that much after being tied down with steel cables).

Peaceful getaway

Great stay at Grandfather Mountain Hideaway. There was an issue with the water the first night, but the rentor was VERY accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay. There are several attractions nearby and restaurants. Sitting outside in the morning and at night with coffee and listening to the creek was so peaceful.

Quick getaway to play in the snow

I have stayed in many VRBO rentals and this one was really clean and nice. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen was up to date. Having three bathrooms with three bedrooms is a huge bonus as well as a washed and dryer. The house is attached to 3 other townhouses but is still a pretty secluded spot. There is a trail/creek directly behind the property which was fun to play and walk on. There is a deck on two levels where you can watch nature outside, saw a few deer, and drink coffee. We went Snow tubing at Hawksnest, book early they sell out, rode the alpine coaster, ate at the peddling pig, went to Linville Caverns, and hiked Linville falls trail. We wanted to go to Grandfather mountain but it was closed due to weather but this give you an idea of all that is around.. We would come back here for sure.

Wonderful stay

this was a family trip that we enjoyed very much. each one had their own room and bathroom. The place was clean, tidy and equipped with absolutely everything we could need, it was like being in your own home. the house is located on the mountain and behind it there is a river that can be heard from inside, it is magical. we are absolutely pleased.

Mountain Glory

We had a most wonderful experience! Beautiful, clean house with all the amenities. The location and its views are spectacular. We love the forest, the surrounding hills and the creek. It was awesome that there was snow also which increased the beauty. The home is close to some good skiing resorts. My family had a blast during our after-Christmas visit. Kyle was a great host. We loved out hideaway. It was located close to Banner Elk, Boone, and Blowing Rock. We hiked the trails, ate at great restaurants, and shopped at so many great shops. Would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Anniversary hiking trip

My husband and I absolutely loved the location and outside scenery of this property! The main bed in the upstairs bedroom was very comfy! Housekeeping could’ve done a bit better job of the upkeep though. We had huge piles of leaves on both back decks that had to be swept off to be able to enjoy our grilled steak dinner on the back deck by the stream. There were also dirty dishes left in the dishwasher where it just wasn’t turned on after the last guests left. Simple things that were just overlooked. Wifi service kept going out which was understandable being in the mountains, but was irritating when trying to watch a movie at night on the Roku provided. After unplugging the modem and plugging back up, we were able to finally get it to stay on. Overall it was a good experience for our mini vacay in the mtns, loved the proximity to Grandfather Mtn!

Great Location

Overall this property was great. The location was perfect being beside the river and close to shopping centers and restaurants. There were some spots in the house that lacked cleanliness like spider webs and bugs. Considering it's an old condo I understand how hard it can be to keep bugs out. The sheets and beds were very nice and comfy but there was not enough towels to use without having to wash them for our family. Overall great location and price for the type of house it was. We would defiantly stay again!

Best kept secret in Banner Elk!

Area is gorgeous, people were incredibly friendly, and the weather was perfect during the summer. The location is ideal for those that want to be close to all the shops/downtown but want some privacy as well. The creek off the deck and direct access to Profile trail makes this a must for nature lovers. Kyle was very responsive and the residence was clean and tidy. We will definitely be booking again!

After traveling to California for a high school competition, I quickly realized the world was a large place filled with all types of experiences and culture. I studied abroad in the UK in college and visited Ireland, Spain, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and France. I was enamored by traveling and all the experiences it brough. Post graduation I continued my travels visiting New Zealand, Australia, St. Lucia, Tulum, Barcelona, and countless cities across the US. I absolutely love to travel and am inspired to provide the best experience possible for guests. I live by the golden rule - treat guests as you would like to be treated. Location, location, location. Why spend your time in the mountains driving 20 minutes down a mountain every time you want to leave the house to run to the grocery store or go do an activity. Grandfather Mountain Hideaway is located just off hwy 105 in Banner Elk and is minutes from several attractions and necessities. It's the perfect mix of seclusion with proximity to everything you would need. We provide comfy sleeping arrangements with 1 king and 2 queen beds (and a twin). The value provided is unmatched as our goal is for our guests to have such a great time they want to come back in a different season!

The stream in the back is a hit with almost all of our guests (kids or fishermen!), the fast wifi (300mbps) to allow those to work remote while the kids watch their TV shows, Profile Trail access directly from the driveway, and an ambience that is tough to match off the back decks.
