Nautical Point Loma Getaway - 7 mins to airport!

Summary:
Welcome to this seaside escape! You are in the heart of Point Loma where you will find the BEST fresh seafood at the Fisherman's Landing, delicious cafes and eateries, adorable mom and pop shops, gorgeous golden sunsets at Sunset Cliffs, and so much more!! It is in a very central location (about 5-10 mins to the airport!) to all of San Diego as well. This upstairs apartment has a modern, fun, beach-themed style to make you feel right at home during your stay in San Diego!

The Space:
Designed specifically to Point Loma and San Diego themes into the home with a modern boho twist to it. You are sure to feel right at home on the L shaped couch, comfy queen sized beds, or in the fully stocked kitchen!
We recently added one AC unit in each bedroom as well.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire 2 bedroom unit.

The Neighborhood:
Point Loma is a beautiful rugged peninsula on the coast of San Diego. It is known for Cabrillo National Monument - a national park with trails, tide pools and exhibits on California history. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is also a popular spot to watch the sun go down. Liberty Station, a former Naval Training Center, now has buzzy restaurants, shops, and lots of events. Delicious and fresh seafood eateries are all over the nearby Shelter and Harbor islands. If you're into live music - Humphreys Concerts by the Bay is a great place to check out. Be sure to check their events schedule! ** Locals Tip - you can rent kayaks / boats and watch these concerts for free from the water ;)

Getting Around:
Point Loma is a very walkable area to get to the cafes, shops, and eateries that are nearby. Uber / Lyft is readily available to get anywhere outside of the Point Loma bubble (San Diego has so much to offer!). There is one assigned parking spot if you bring your own car but please note it's a tight turn to get into it if your car is anything larger than a mid-sized car (like a Rav 4).

Other Things to Note:
Pets are welcome with prior approval and additional $125 pet fee.
**No pets without prior written approval. If you're bringing a pet, you must follow airbnb's pet rules: dispose of all pet waste properly, never leave pet unattended in the home, and keep dogs leashed when walking them outside of the home.

Laundry on site - quarters only. $2.00 to wash and $1.50 to dry.

Please don't put large pieces of food down the kitchen disposal.

San Diego now requires all guests to sign a Good Neighbor Policy document prior to staying. We do enforce their policy so it must be signed in order to receive checkin info, but we will make it super easy for you to initial and sign :) It can all be done online.

Point Loma

For the most part it was a great stay. even the carport was very manageable and location couldn’t be any better. The floors probably haven’t been washed in at least 2 months. Kitchen sink wouldn’t drain when we arrived and it appeared it had overflowed prior to our arrival. There was water in the cabinet under the sink and one of the drawers, but that was fixed the next morning. Power went out in the kitchen and what could have been 5 minute fix turned into 12 hours because no one would tell me about the 4 fuses in the bedroom closet. The kitchen was well stocked except there were only 3 pans and two dish towels. We had to go buy a frying pan. Aside from those things it was a cute place and we enjoyed our stay.

Host opened apartment door without notice, knocking or consent

While the listing was properly described, we were shocked that the local host opened the apartment door without knocking. We had checked in, lights were on, and suddenly an unknown man was standing in our apartment door without knocking or announcing himself. He claimed he wanted to check if the apartment had been cleaned. This behavior was not ok, and it is at least impolite if not more. A host can check the apartment BEFORE guests arrive, not after. The landlord cannot enter the room/apartment that is rented out without giving advance notice unless it is a serious emergency.We made sure to lock our door was locked at all times afterwards to maintain our privacy. In terms of cleanliness, we were cooking once for ourselves (for Jan01) and wanted to use the porcelain plates. Unfortunately, they were not clean to be used for meals, so we used the plastic plates that were provided. A little balloon was also present in our apartment, which is hard to overlook when a cleaning staff cleans an apartment, isn't it?Beds were fine, and beds linens were clean and comfortable. Some guest reviews were complaining about cold temperature especially during Winter. There were several electric heaters provided, so we found that to be sufficient as our son was working online from the apartment during the day. We really liked that there was some coffee provided, that was nice when you arrive late and urge for some breakfast in the morning! However, the kitchen had no salt, that was odd..

Minimalist accommodations

Must have been built 50's-60's as small efficiency apartments. No ventilation ducting. Tiny room A/C's failed to cool the living space. Appears recently renovated and furnished straight from the Ikea catalogue and stocked/decorated with stuff from Ross stores (some do-dads still had tags). TV was large of average quality. Beds were solid foam and were, in fact, comfortable. Extra fans and extension cords provided by management were very helpful. If you plan to cook anything, bring your own salt and pepper and coffee filters. Parking under the unit is inaccessible except for the smallest of cars. Street parking is readily available. Very expensive for the quality and comfort.

Disappointing customer service

The place was small, but adequately furnished. We had to wash dishes before using them due to food stuck on plates, etc. Great location, takeover quiet. Parking is a problem. The spot they give you is very tight, but manageable with a smaller vehicle. However, the parking spot is shared with an adjacent unit. They tell both to use the same one. When i raised this issue, i was told they were reaching out to the other people to correct the problem, but they did not. I verified this with the other vacationers. Both of us were given the exact same parking instructions, and the property managers had not reached out to them. No big deal of you don't want an off street parking spot (the street is only moderately busy), but shady property managers if you ask me. I got to park on my assigned spot 1 out of 5 nights. Would have been a wonderful experience if it wasn't for the attempted deception from the property managers.

Nice Stay

This apartment was a great choice for our holiday while visiting family in San Diego. It is nicely furnished, comfortable, and in a nice location. Communication was easy and replies prompt. This is an upstairs apartment with parking beneath. The hosts mentioned in the booking info that only small to mid-size cars fit in the parking spaces. We parked on the street for this reason, which was easy. Always found space.

Pleasant & Clean, But No Heater !

The 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment is clean and comfortably furnished. The carport is difficult to navigate so we just parked in the street. There is no dishwasher, nor a teakettle. There is also no central heat, and during our 4 day at Christmas time it got quite chilly overnight. There are only 2 tiny space heaters which barely make a dent in the chill. The location was ideal for us, just minutes away from our family, and a block away from restaurants, bars and stores on Rosecrans. The apartment is quiet, though you can hear airplanes overhead until late in the evening.
