Dieses gut gebaute Ranchhaus liegt auf 2. 5 schönen bewaldeten, privaten Morgen. Das Innere des Hauses besteht hauptsächlich aus schön verarbeitetem Holz. Es gibt zwei Schlafzimmer und auch 2, Great Rooms! Zwei 25x25 ft. Zimmer mit Kathedralendecken und viel Freifläche. In einem der großen Räume gibt es eine Tür für Privatleben und ein ausziehbares Königinschlafsofa. Im großen Hauptraum gibt es ein Twin-Size-Tagesbett unter einem Fenster. 2019 neues Bad! Dieses Haus befindet sich mit der schönsten Aussicht auf Green Bay Gewässer. Direkt nach Westen ausgerichtet liegen die schönsten Sonnenuntergänge direkt vor Ihrer Tür und können vom Hauptschlafzimmer, dem Esszimmer und 2 tollen Zimmern aus betrachtet werden.
Jedes Jahr überraschen wir unsere Stammgäste gerne mit etwas Neuem. Vor kurzem wurde der Teppich entfernt, um wunderschöne Ahornböden, Waschmaschine und Trockner, neue Terrassen, neue Möbel, ein neues Dach und vieles mehr freizulegen!
Es gibt eine große Veranda mit einem Esstisch und einem großen Sofa. Es gibt ein geräumiges Open-Air-Deck mit Blick auf das Wasser, das an das Haus angeschlossen ist. Es gibt eine weitere große Terrasse auf halber Höhe zum Wasser, ideal für Mahlzeiten im Freien. Dann gibt es ein drittes Deck am Wasser, perfekt, um die atemberaubenden Sonnenuntergänge zu beobachten. Es gibt auch Stufen, die von diesem Deck zum Wasser führen.
Dieses Haus liegt auf einem sanften Hügel voller Gras, der Sie hinunter zum 250 m langen privaten Ufer führt. Dieser Strand besteht aus kleinen und großen Felsen. Toll zum Schwimmen, da es einen schönen Felsen gibt, auf dem man im Wasser laufen kann. Es gibt auch eine schöne Abgabe ca. 50ft out, ideal zum Angeln, Tauchen oder Schnorcheln.
Sie werden Fischerboote in einiger Entfernung sehen, da dies ein beliebtes Gebiet für Lachse ist ... Sie können sie sehen, aber sie würden Probleme haben, Sie zu sehen. Dieses Haus befindet sich in einer privaten Umgebung mit vielen alten Bäumen.

What a beautiful spot!

This property is directly on the water and is such a peaceful and comfortable spot to stay. We enjoyed the views of the lake, lounging by the water to watch the sunset, and gathering around a fire in the firepit. The house was also a comfortable place to lounge and relax when we had a rainy day.

Beautiful cottage on the lake

This is a wonderful cottage with terrific lake front access for kayaking, swimming and lounging by the waterfront. Very thoughtfully and thoroughly appointed kitchen and lovely bathroom. Owner was very responsive with communication requests.

We enjoyed our stay, despite very hard twin beds and uncomfortable seating. We had to bring our own sheets and towels. There were lots of signs with dos and don’ts around the house. We did our best to comply.

Wonderful honeymoon spot!

This was a beautiful place on Washington Island. With lakeside views, a firepit, comfortable furniture, supplied kitchen, etc, it was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our honeymoon. The property manager made the experience so easy with little to no stress. Definitely will be returning!

Cozy Island Stay

Had a wonderful experience with the property and the stay. The host was very communicative and helpful with the island process. She kept our group in the loop about bad weather limiting travel to and from the island, allowing us to keep on schedule. Very kind and thoughtful throughout the whole process. Property was clean with plenty of amenities and space for our group. Modern bathroom was great for our group. The water was pretty choppy on the beach for this property through our stay, compared to other places on the island, but still enjoyable to take in and relax. I would absolutely recommend for anyone new to Washington Island to have a nice getaway.

Love this cottage!

We are frequent visitors to Washington Island and this year we decided to book the Funk Cottage. We loved it! Great, very clean and had a well-equipped kitchen, complete with spices, and every pot, pan, dish, glassware you can imagine. Cooking was a breeze in the kitchen. Lots of choices of where to sleep, but we picked the comfy beds. The newly remodeled shower was beautiful. We had two days of magnificent biking, then two days of rain, but we brought books and cooked and still had a great time. And, how many cottages come with an organ?? Seriously. A real organ! That raised the cottage to a whole new level. We already booked it for next year and plan to master both "In the Gadda la Vida" and "Smoke on the Water." Thank you Amy!

Beautiful sunsets

We absolutely loved everything about this cottage. The sunsets were gorgeous. We had an eagle fly by a couple of times. A heron flew by like clockwork every night as the sun was setting. We rode our bikes around the island and spent one day exploring Rock Island. The weather was perfect. We look forward to coming back.

Beautiful stay on Washington Island

We had a great week at this lovely property. Staying on island for a week was a change of pace from our usual Door County vacations. After a couple days of exploring the island, we came to realize that hanging out here was our favorite way to relax. The swings, hammock, decks and firepit all were situated so that the lake view could be maximized. Great wifi. Comfy beds. Would love to return someday.

Great R & R Retreat

the pictures of the interior of the property and the sunsets were greatly under represented. It was far more than expected. It was peaceful and relaxing and the location relative to everything on the island was fantastic. Would definitely do again.

Cozy cottage on the pretty shore! Sunsets and stars!!!!

Absolutely loved it! It is a cottage on a lake. Lots of room for family or friends. Returning to the island, this was something new and different for us this time. We usually camp in tents/cars. Wood to burn and time to kill is all you need. Two cozy separate rooms that sleep 4 people and can sleep additional 3 adults in other rooms was very convenient. Newly remodeled bathroom with a walk in shower was great! Lots of space for your belongings and absolutely gorgeous outdoors!!! 2 wooden swings, a hammock, two (or was it three? Lol) decks and seating around the fire pit. And lots of big rocks to chill on by the water!!! We sun bathed on the lounge chairs and played croquet. Private drive and privacy all around makes this original cottage a great retreat to the past. Kitchen to cook in and closed in porch to enjoy your meals with family. Lots of fans throughout the cottage to keep you cool and other supplies that come handy, like cleaning products. Oh and kitchen has it all to cook and dishes, etc. We shopped at Mann’s grocery store and stayed in to make family breakfast. Will definitely book again! Thank you Amy for having us. Sorry I didn’t reply to your Monday message, my cell had very bad service on the island and had trouble connecting to wifi, not sure why, something wasn’t right with my phone. But it worked out great! No one bothered me lol. Thank you again, feel free to reach out to me via cell. Can’t wait to visit the island again!

Relax and get away

This is a beautiful home; spacious and inviting. A short bike ride from the best coffee shop and ice cream shop. The host was very responsive, even stopped by to help access Netflix. My family highly recommends this home.

Relaxing and beautiful sunsets

Beautiful property, better than advertised. The only thing that would have made the stay better is not having to worry about the garbage and having wood for the fire pit. Those are very minimal though, compared to our wonderful vacation.

I am from Elmhurst, Illinois and have now lived on the Island full time for 26 years! I have always said, I know I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to live and raise a family on this beautiful Island!
This home was built in 1951 by my grandfather, and has been in my family ever since.

My grandpa built this home and at the time he could have chose any place on the Island as there was lots of open space. He liked the high property (to avoid any chance of flooding) yet easy water access. Deep water frontage so he could launch his boat. Convenient location, 10 minutes to town, less than 5 minutes to the Ferry. Peaceful neighborhood with beautiful mature trees. Of course the number one reason, the amazing sunsets year round!

Privacy, able to swim with no one else around. Dinner outside, sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Great for family reunions as there is so much 'living' space. Never feel crowded.
