At Hawks View Haven you’ll awaken to the pink and purple morning glow rising over mountain peaks. Sip your latte or cappuccino as you watch horses graze by the winding Middle Fork of the South Platte river. Savor a lazy breakfast or get going on the day's adventure. Winter favorites are skiing at Breckenridge (an easy 32 mi or take the bus from Fairplay), snowmobiling and snowshoeing the local trails, exploring Fairplay’s art galleries, or simply sledding down your own three acres.
Year round adventures include: Skiing at Breckenridge, World-Class Trout Fishing, Hiking local trails including several 14ers, Horseback Riding, Rock Climbing, Rafting the Arkansas River, Nearby Hunting, Boating and Fishing at the Anterro, Spinney Mountain and Eleven Mile Reservoirs, 4WD trails, Alpine driving tours over Boreas Pass and Hoosier Pass, Exploring the Historic Mining Camp of South Park, or just cozy up with your friends and family at the cabin playing games or watching movies. Kids have a blast too with a huge closet full of kids toys, books, and games for children ages 1-12.
Back at Hawks View, you’ll cozy up to one of the fireplaces as you gaze out over Platte River Ranch and the snow capped mountains of the Mosquito Range. Bask in the beauty of nature with nearly-guaranteed spectacular sunsets stretching out 180 degrees from the cabin.
Swap stories of your day and enjoy a gourmet meal while gathered around the kitchen table with comfortable seating for at least 12 guests. In the evening you’ll make memories with quiet conversations, playing rowdy games, or streaming movies in one of the two generous living areas.
Finish your day on the deck by watching the moon and stars peak out and the night sky awaken with more stars than you’ve ever seen. Then slip into one of the three private bedrooms each with extra space for kids. In your comfortable queen bed with luxurious bedding you’ll drift off into pleasant dreams of tomorrow’s adventures.
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
Hawks View Haven is the perfect retreat for making memories. The house features 2,200 square feet with wall to wall views, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large kitchen/dining area, two separate living rooms, ample parking for the whole group, all situated on three private acres overlooking the mosquito mountain range.
The main level includes a mud-room, large kitchen and dining area, living room, powder room, and master suite.
The entry and mudroom provide ample storage for shoes and jackets, skis, and fishing poles, while also housing the on-site laundry facilities.
A true food-lover outfitted this kitchen with everything you might need to prepare gourmet meals for all your friends and family. It is generously supplied with pots and pans and baking dishes of every size, chef’s knife set, instant pot, espresso machine and dishes, cutlery and a dining table for at least 10 adults.
The upstairs living room boasts high-end leather furniture, cozy pillows and blankets, a gas fireplace, and seating for seven with wall to wall views of the mountains and ranchland. An upstairs powder room supports the living and dining room.
The master bedroom aka “Campfire” features a comfortable queen bed with high-end bedding, lounge chair, ensuite bathroom with large shower, vanity, toilet room, and a huge walk-in closet perfect for a portable crib or kids sleeping space or just 1,700 jackets.
All bedrooms feature queen beds with luxury bedding, comfortable yet firm mattresses, and blackout curtains/blinds for sleepy mornings. Each bedroom supports extra sleeping space for kids too.
Downstairs you’ll find a large family room, hall bathroom, huge toy closet, and two additional bedrooms: “Forest” and “Lake”.
The Family room features an extra large and super comfortable sectional, two lounge chairs and a 70” tv perfect for streaming shows or watching the big game. An easy to use gas fireplace and plenty of cozy pillows and blankets make this the perfect room to spend your evenings. Huge windows and an exterior door fill this space with natural light and gorgeous views.
The Forest bedroom features a queen bed with luxury bedding, a trundle bed with full-size mattress, lounge chair and closet with dresser. Bed includes heated blankets for chilly winter nights and cozy duvet. A modern art wall nods to the beauty of the forest while two windows offer gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains.
The Lake bedroom features another queen bed and an additional two built in twin bunks perfect for kids or adults. Lake also includes a heated blanket and closet to hang clothes. Two windows bring in plenty of light and gorgeous views of nature.
The downstairs bathroom features a full size shower/bathtub and vanity and supports both the Forest and Lake bedrooms.

Just bring your babies clothes and binkies, no need to haul the whole nursery.
