Enjoy swimming in the pool, a dip in the Little River, or a relaxing kayaking or canoeing adventure. The Little River Cottage is perfect for families. The Outer Banks of NC is only a car ride away, or you can visit other Historic areas such as Edenton, NC approximately thirty minutes away. Located near the border of Elizabeth City, delicious sushi or Mexican cuisine is only a 15 minute drive away. 5 day minimum stay on any major Holidays.

Gorgeous views

We had a wonderful time at this home on the sound. We brought out 2 dogs and the yard was huge they could run and really enjoy the outside. The property offered everything to make our stay perfect. Excellent communication with the owner and a very simple check in. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Relaxing and beautiful

Our family of 5 enjoyed staying at Shannon's home. The pool was great and the amenities (kayaks, canoes, pool table) were great. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the view. Our dogs loved having such a huge fenced in yard to run in as well. They absolutely loved barking at the geese as they flew by. Be on the look out for jumping fish. I didn't know fish jumped out of the water like that and it was a sight to see. Great vacation!

Great family vacation

The property was perfect for an extended weekend getaway with the family. We enjoyed the pool, the house, the game room in the garage and even saw some dolphins in the river. It was a great trip and I can't wait to try and book this location again in the future.

Unwind and relax

Perfect place to get away and relax with the family. The pool and lake were the perfect place to cool off. The large fenced in yard was great for the dogs to run around in. Watching the sunsets, sunrises and dolphins from the dock were just what we all needed.

Cute Getaway

Cute house fit our quick getaway. This was a new area for us to explore. Home had everything we needed and expected from description and other reviews. Some things like having shade at pool, larger kitchen, and the home so close to water with screened in porch was even better than expected. Kitty Hawk was about 1 hr 20 min drive. We also visited the great dismal swamp which was very beautiful. Didn’t catch fish from house but did get lots of crabs and saw several dolphins on last day. Would recommend home to anyone visiting this area..

The property was clean, completely functional, hospitably presented. Advance information was 100% correct. The house was user friendly. Several times during the stay different members of our party remarked that we would like to come back again.

Most relaxing vacation in years

Amazing vacation at this rental can’t say enough good things. Rental was spotless and provided everything - and I mean everything you could possibly want/need. The pool was amazing for cooling off and relaxing, the cove was great for fishing and bird watching( Great Blue Heron and Osprey), the dock was amazing for dolphin watching and sunrises. There was something for all family members to do separately and together. We spent 1 day to drive over to beach and the rest of the vacation we spent enjoying the rental. The game area came in very handy as we had rain/t storms on several nights. The welcome basket was unbelievably thoughtful and greatly appreciated - as everyone was tired after driving all day and the last thing we wanted to do was go to grocery store . Overall a fantastic vacation and can’t wait to come back next year.

Relaxing On The River

We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Caught a couple fish with the fishing gear provided. Caught a crab with one of the crab traps. Had a blast with the kayaks and canoe. We also got to watch the young eagles take their first flight! Even when it rained, the game room provided lots of fun. The property was very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. Hosts were very easy to contact and it was a pleasure to interact with them.

Extended Memorial Day stay

This was the best! The cleanest place I have ever rented. They have everything. The pool had a solar cover to keep it warm. The garage was full of things to do. There was tons of stuff for all ages. We slept great while there. Sun rises were beautiful. We caught plenty of fish from the dock for dinner but we brought our boat and launched it right there and caught plenty of fish to bring home. I can’t say enough great things about this home and the owners. The welcome basket of goodies was above and beyond. We will be back!

Amazing!

We absolutely loved this place. It was exactly as pictured, so very well taken care of. The host was very kind and although we are very low maintenance and didnt need anything, she let us know she was nearby incase we did. My wife, our dog, and I all drove away knowing we will want to come back. Incase anyone is wondering about the fishing…i caught some catfish, a 4 pound largemouth bass, a couple drum 16-19”, a nearly 3 foot gar, yellow perch, bluegill, and a skate. Use shrimp and shiners!

Tranquil Surroundings

This property offers all the necessary amenities-swimming pool and an extensive array of non-motorized water toys for a very peaceful and restful stay. Shannon provides all the necessary information and is very attentive to any issues that you might encounter while you're there. The property offers awesome views of the water. Paradise Visited

The entire visit was absolutely outstanding in every aspect. The owner's are great and go out of their way to ensure that everyone is pleased. I have used VRBO for many stays and this house has been the best by far. Cleanliness is high on my list and the house was spotless. The house, amenities, pool and view is an A+++++. Loved our stay at Little River Cottage. Host was very communicative, checking in after a storm to make sure we were okay. Loved the private boat ramp. Cottage is pet friendly is a plus. House was clean and well stocked.

Great getaway for seclusion and nature

This home was just as listed and described. Great view of the river and lots of amenities. We saw dolphins swimming by on most days and enjoyed getting out on the water in their canoe. Huge yard for activities and a large clean pool were great to have. 20 minutes away from Walmart and some restaurants. 1 hour and 15 min to outer banks. Owners communicate well and were ready to see if they could improve our stay. Book with confidence!

Wonderful quiet waterfront cottage

This cottage was amazing. Fishing, swimming, boating, games...there is never a lack for things to do here. The dogs LOVED running around freely in the yard and the kids enjoyed all the activities. Highly recommend.

seclusion and paradise

Property owners are perfect hosts. Available if questions but totally respected privacy. This place cannot be described with photos. The morning sunrise over Albemarle Sound is spectacular. Plenty of room for quests to spread out. A thoughtful basket of food items await. Absolutely clean. Canoe, kayaks, paddleboat plus so many numerous table games in garage. 15-20 minutes from major grocery chains, but the seclusion is well worth that travel. Quiet neighborhood and hoping we did not disturb that atmosphere. Thank you for all you have provided.

Exactly what we needed.

Everything is as advertised and maybe better. An hour and a half from VA Beach. An hour from OBX. I didn’t bother Shannon one time because there wasn’t a need to. Everything was right from the get go. Cannot wait to come back and check on the Osprey babies. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property.
