Diese Wohnung ist NICHT durch kürzlich erlassene Einschränkungen in Honolulu Bill 89 betroffen.

Der Vogelkäfig ist ein luftiges und helles Studio mit freiem Blick auf die Koolau-Berge. Mit dem historischen Waikiki Beach direkt vor der Hotellobby ist das Bird Cage der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um Honolulu und den Rest von Oahu zu erkunden.

Doppelt verglaste Schiebefenster minimieren den urbanen Sound von Waikiki erheblich, lassen jedoch viel Licht herein. Eine weitläufige Dachterrasse über dem Hotel bietet eine Vogelperspektive auf Diamond Head. Es gibt Liegestühle zum Sonnenbaden und Tische zum Essen im Freien. Niemand sonst in Waikiki hat eine bessere Sicht auf den Sonnenuntergang im Pazifik. Der Kapiolani Park befindet sich auf der anderen Straßenseite und bietet den Honolulu Zoo, das Waikiki Aquarium, den Royal Hawaiian Bandstand, Tennisplätze, Fußballfelder, Bogenschießstände, Wochenend-Kunstshows und die kostenlosen Sunset on the Beach-Konzerte und -Filme der Stadt grüne Morgen.

Kommen gerne wieder, war super!

Wir waren 12 Nächte in diesem Objekt. Die Redewendung klein aber fein trifft hier zu. Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden und würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Der Vermieter war sehr hilfsbereit und bei Fragen immer gut zu erreichen. Die Lage ist sehr gut Bus, Fahrradverleih, Shoppingmöglichkeiten und Strand sind zu Fuß zuerrichen. Wer hier jedoch plant viel zu kochen wird nicht viel Kochuntensilien finden, nur das nötigste.

Close to the beach

Apt was a good size and close to the beach. Steps away. Our visit got cut short from roaches inside the apt. We relocated to the resort. Host was nice and provided us back a refund. Also trash chute is in well. You can hear everyone throwing trash down chute. All in all I wouldn’t go back.

Waikiki great location

Spent a nice few days in Waikiki in this well- located property, across from the zoo... and the beach. Our only "complaint" was the TV was difficult to figure out, and a bit small for its location across the room from the bed. We are approaching 70 with poor eyesight and hearing, a bigger TV, or more comfirtable seating closer to tv would have been great. been nice. Othe the early 60s.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay. Kevin and the staff at the hotel were friendly and accomodating. The beach was just a few steps from our door, the scenary was beautiful, and the community was warm and inviting. So thankful we had this experience in such a wonderful place together!

Great host, lovely place.

Kevin Lum is probably the best property owner I have encountered. He goes the extra mile and responds with speed to any communication. Our refrigerator wasn't working very well and when we told him that, it was replaced that day with a brand new one! Everything we needed was in the apartment and we loved the location. Will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic getaway spot

The Birdcage was exactly what we needed for our trip to Honolulu. Location at the end of Waikiki close to the zoo was convenient to get in and out of and to be able to walk down Waikiki without being surrounded by the crowds. The kitchenette meant we could save money by cooking or bringing food back to the condo while taking advantage of the use of the 10th floor sky deck to eat meals with a full view of Diamondhead and the beach. Paying for parking at the Waikiki Grand made it very convenient to come and go at our leisure. Altogether an excellent trip!

Great Location & Everything We Needed

The Birdcage was a wonderful location for us with all the amenities we needed. It was convenient to have a rental car with paid parking located right under us at the Castle Waikiki Grand Hotel. Of course, the Castle isn't really a hotel any longer but kind of operates like one. The condos are owned privately. However, in addition to the VRBO owner and the local property manager in Honolulu available by text, there is someone at the front desk most hours to help answer questions and provide minimal check-in/check-out for the room and parking. Note: Parking is run by a separate entity, not the condo owners. Kevin, the Birdcage owner and host, and his property manager were speedy responding to questions and gave us extra tips for travel and detailed instructions for the condo. The beach is only a block away. The views from the 10th floor patio are gorgeous and we took advantage of some relaxation time up there. As for travel to other parts of the island, we found it easy to get to the highway to go west, central or east. Most days we used our car for early morning/afternoon excursions and then did a lot of walking afternoons and evenings. The on-site pool isn't fancy but clean and you can basically have it to yourself. As for the room temperature, we sometimes used the window A/C and sometimes used the nice window cross-breeze. I used earplugs to minimize city and A/C noise for sleeping and it was fine. Laundry was $2 a wash/dry. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend!

Basic Needs

The property gave us all the basic needs of a good stay...the property mananger was very responsive to any requests prior to our visit. The property was located within easy access to many local sights and activities; making our ability to walk pretty much everywhere - beautiful views from the top floor deck area - wonderfully friendly people at the front desk; always helpful. I'd say the only negatives would be cleanliness and wear and tear on a nice little space could be improved; updated. Overall; we certainly enjoyed ourselves.

I have worked in the travel industry for over 40 years and have explored numerous countries around the world. I can relate to what travelers are looking for in a vacation rental because I'm looking for the same things - cleanliness, location and value.

I grew up in Honolulu and spent a lot of time playing at the beach and on the sea wall that is less than 30 steps from the condo. Kapiolani Park was a place for family gatherings, concerts at the Shell, and of course the Zoo. Waikiki was a lot slower and quieter when I was a kid, but even today I think visitors will still find it to be a special place. If you walk down to the Diamond Head end of Kalakaua Avenue - it's still like it was in the old days.

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!

While being at the 'end' of Waikiki might sound like you are away from all the action, that just isn't the case. Everything Waikiki has to offer is just a short walk away, but you don't have to be in the middle of the hustle and traffic. Being on the end of Waikiki makes getting in and out of the area, if you are driving, much easier than visitors staying in the middle of the high-rises. Saving the best for last, being on the end of Waikiki means there is nothing else between you and Diamond Head except the big green expanse of Kapiolani Park. Head up to the roof deck and see for yourself! In the morning it's an amazing place to have coffee, watch the sun peek over the Koolau Mountains and light up Diamond Head, listen to the monkeys in the Zoo, and see the elephants out for a stroll. Only in Hawaii!
