SAVE YOU MONEY - BOOK ELSEWHERE!

PROS - Great location and access to private beach. Walking distance from the Downtown Duck, NC area. 20-minute drive from restaurants. I highly recommend The Broken Plate Kitchen and Seanna Tavern. CONS - Cob webs everywhere, inside and outside! The bedroom with the bunk bed spelled of urine. Ceiling fan, AC vent, Air filters, and bathroom exhaust fans are extremely filled with dust and particles and were never cleaned since installation. Coughing and sneezing immdediately after turning the fan on once. Don't book.

A great getaway

The view of the sound is lovely! The duck boardwalk is barely a 2 minute walk and it’s very convenient to do everything on foot… very much the heart of duck! The house was clean and comfortable. Perfect for our group of 6.

Good home for families

Decently stocked kitchen, very clean and comfortable, bathrooms could use more soap,. kitchen more detergent. If you aren't traveling with beach stuff like chairs and umbrellas there is none at the house.

Comfy and close.

We loved how close it was to the Duck shops. The neighborhood was very quiet and the walk to the beach was pleasant. The house was comfy and cozy.

Most of our group that rented this beautiful cottage actually grew up in the same cottage as it had been owned by their grandparents and they spent many summers making many memories there. Coming back as adults and bringing our children to have the same experiences really made for a special trip! You have all of the amenities nearby whether it's shopping and restaurants or even just walking up the road to go grab something at the corner store. The cottage is cozy and well-kept, being able to walk down to the private neighborhood beach access was so convenient! We were provided with basic toiletries and dishwashing items, plenty of towels and each room had extra bedding. We can't wait to book again!

Good location but home needs upgrades.

I am not one to normally leave a subpar review but in this case I need to. First off the house is very well positioned in duck, close to the restaurants and close to all the shops this was a great plus! The opportunity is in the condition of the house, we were told before we even arrived at one of the toilets wouldn't work. Once we got there and used other plumbing water was pouring out under the bottom of the house it even poured down on me while I was barbecuing. The agency did not respond the first day and I needed to reach out again the second day and still there was no resolution prior to me leaving. Also the ceiling fan was disconnected from the roof therefore we didn't use it while we were there even though it was 77° in the upper floors during the day. Again the house is in a great position can be enjoyed to a high level it just needs upgrades. I'm still waiting for the leasing company to get back to me to discuss my concerns.

Family vacation

We enjoyed staying at this property. The location was great, close to the beach, restaurants, and the boardwalk. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes but we drove and were able to park at the end of the street which made it easier and very convenient.

Great location

The location was great. We enjoyed the close proximity to town. The toilets on the second floor need some attention as they were extremely slow to refill. It was less homey than other houses we’ve stayed in, but it was clean and had the basics.

Beautiful house convenient to beach and town

Perfect house with sound view from awesome decks off the living space. Very convenient to the beach and town yet quiet. Short walk to the boardwalk with cool shops and restaurants. Walk to the beach or drive and park next to the beach access. Wee Winks Market, liquor store, and produce stand in easy walking distance. Equipment rental for water sports close by as well. Plenty of room for 8 adults. Everything provided as described in the listing. Cooking utensils were a little sparse, but plenty of dishes and flatware. Elevator to lift luggage and groceries. Very clean house with comfortable beds. Overall a great value. Responsive host with easy check in.

Very nice stay

We had a great time. House location is perfect, close to town and a short walk down the road to the beach. Very safe for kids. Beautiful sunset views from the living areas. Neat house, kitchen well equipped, a bit dated but overall very functional. It was nice to have several body boards and a beach chair available since we had forgotten ours at home. Recycling blue bin was full to the rim and could not be used. Proactive and responsive property management.

Quick end-of-summer getaway

We had a great stay! We booked only 2 weeks prior to our trip, and only wanted to go for a long weekend (Saturday - Tuesday) and luckily there was availability. We loved being so close to the Duck shops/restaurants/boardwalk. The beach was about a half mile walk, but there was room to drop off your things/family, if that would make it easier. Beds were all comfortable, and kitchen was equipped well enough for the little bit of cooking we did. Also, if this is your first time in Duck, the Wee Winks Market is only about 100 yards from the house which makes light grocery shopping a breeze! Your next closest grocer is about 20 minutes away North or South, so this was nice to have so close by! Thanks again for a great family getaway!

Great house and location!

We’ve been staying in Duck for years, but this is the first time right in town. We loved being close to a grocery store, ice cream, and the ABC store. The house was a bit farther from the beach than we usually do, but we rented bikes to make the trek. The house was well-stocked (with the exception of BBQ tools) with all the dishes, utensils, and appliances. It was nice having the left to get groceries up to the third floor. The only maintenance issues we came across were n the outdoor shower. The floorboards need to be re-nailed down or replaced. They were really wobbly. And the shower head dribbled water for the first few days. Oddly it got better later. It would be useful to know which days trash services come, as the group before us completely filled up the only can. If they knew there was a midweek pickup, maybe they would use it. We would definitely go back to this house!

Enjoyed my vacation

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in this property. It was clean, neat and has everything that we needed. Grill gas tank was full and ready to use with all kitchen appliances for a large group of people. The location was excellent close to board walk and stores to enjoy sunset. It was also in walking distance from beach to enjoy ocean beach as well. Will definitely come back. 😊
