The Artsy Downtown Treehouse is owned by one of Arizona's notable landscape/wildlife fine-art photography artists, functioning as his professional gallery and studio when in residence, and is adorned with his limited-edition artworks, providing a lovely personal touch. Although his works span multiple continents and countries, you will enjoy viewing (& perhaps visiting!) some of the beautiful areas nearby that he has showcased in his hand-selected images of Northern Arizona displayed here.
This picturesque property sits handsomely amongst the majestic Ponderosa Pines. It is a two-story home with a large, fenced backyard, and it’s easy to forget that you are so close to downtown. This is not a cookie-cutter home, it is a one-of-a-kind, special, vintage home. You will find "true" hardwood, tile and slate floors, lots of windows that provide warmth and light throughout. All of the main living areas, including kitchen, are on the second level, which is well-windowed on three sides with gorgeous vaulted ceilings, including a massive stone wood-burning fireplace in the main family room area. This provides a setting that feels like you are in a cozy "Treehouse". You can even see parts of the glorious SAN FRANCISCO PEAKS from both the house & large back deck off the main room.
The galley kitchen with a "Retro Feeling" is utterly eye-catching and provides all essentials needed for preparing delicious meals, if you feel like staying in or are doing an extended stay.
There are four very impressive bedrooms, two on each level. All are delightfully stylish and adorned with themed art – the ‘Monument Valley’ room; the ‘Southwest Sandstone’ room, the ‘Colorado River’ room, and the ‘Wild’ room. The upper level includes the master bedroom (the Monument Valley room) that is equipped with a king size bed and a second bedroom (the southwest sandstone room) with a queen bed. The lower level has an additional bedroom (the Colorado River room), with a queen bed. There is also a very modish living bedroom of sorts, that sleeps up to four people, with two twin beds and a futon couch that folds out into a bed. It is a hip room, that also includes a wall-mounted flat screen television. This room is ideal for anyone. It is certainly a great place for the younger Guests to hang out and have fun. The family room couch upstairs also converts out into a full bed (with bedding hidden inside), accommodating up to an additional two people.
There are two full bathrooms, one on each level, each full of vintage beauty and charm, while remaining functional. The upper-level bathroom is very large and includes two sinks, a roomy walk-in shower with bench.
There is a gorgeous deck with gas barbeque grill located on the second level, accessed off of either the upstairs family room area or the spacious backyard below. The deck provides plenty of space to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal, while taking in the scenery & quiet. There is plenty of room to move to the lower level to play a game in the large, fenced backyard. Please note that accessing the backyard is primarily done from this upstairs family room access, and there is no lower-level access, unless going out front door to side gate.

The Neighborhood
Cherry Hill is the perfect location for exploring Flagstaff: Take a walk around the very peaceful and quiet, forested neighborhood, or walk five to ten minutes to anywhere in quaint, historic & hip downtown. If you happen to be of LDS faith and wish to worship, the home is literally across the street from the church's parking lot. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet otherwise, even with the train station and Route 66 so close by! Generally, you won’t hear the trains, other than the occasional long-distance perceptions of the whispered hum of larger trains going by, which is very slight. The trains do not blow their horns at the four main crossing areas through town, unless they have a very good reason to, which is infrequent. On a busy summer Saturday night with the windows open, you may hear the occasional emergency vehicle from nearby Route 66. In addition to being a short walking distance to fantastic restaurants, cafes, bars & shops, Northern Arizona University & Flagstaff Medical Center, as well as many other professional services, are also within walking distance.
Many hiking and biking trails are accessible nearby. Flagstaff is well-known for its city trail system for both, and nearby Lake Mary road is a must ride if you are biker or water enthusiast. Enjoy the slopes of downhill skiing at the Arizona Snowbowl, a 20 minute or so drive. Great cross-country skiing at Nordic Village is slightly farther up the road. Flagstaff Snow Park is also nearby if you just want to play. For star gazers and history buffs, Lowell Observatory, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and the Pioneer Museum are also a short drive from the house.
Make AMAZING DAYTRIPS to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, the Mogollon Rim near Payson, Bearizona, Williams, Lake Powell, Lee’s Ferry and the Colorado River, Antelope Canyon, Petrified Forest National Park, Meteor Crater, everything else Route 66 has to offer, and much more! Explore Arizona’s rich cultural heritage & diversity by visiting the Navajo & Hopi Reservations, the cliff dwellings at the Walnut Canyon National Monument, the volcanic forested landscapes of Sunset Crater, or Native American pueblo sites at the Wupatki National Monument. Reflect on your adventures with a delicious meal at one of Flagstaff’s popular eateries, or settle in at home for a quiet meal and a fire in the gorgeous fireplace.
Getting Around
Parking is available in our driveway for up to 4 cars, as well as additional street curb parking. If bringing up a trailer or toy hauler or mid-sized RV, the driveway can probably accommodate. Other things to Note
Property Type: Cabin / Downtown Flagstaff
Two Story
High Speed WiFi is available.
Well behaved dogs belonging to responsible owners are considered, however we ask that you keep "4 on the floor" as we say in our house. Cats are not allowed. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or bedding, and if weather is inclement, please wipe their paws and coats when bringing inside (mud towels kept in downstairs front door closet). Dogs must never be left alone in the house without being crated. Leaving them alone in a closed room invites extra wear-and-tear on the home everyone rather avoid. Also, you must pick up after them outside, for both sanitary and courtesy reasons. Please be thoughtful about this. We depend on this honor system, otherwise you are setting us up for a bad review from the guest that follows you. We usually allow one or two small to medium size dogs, no more please. No vicious breeds. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. There is a $50 pet fee per dog.
The entirety of the home and the backyard are accessible to guests. We only keep the garage locked off for storage. The neighborhood is incredibly safe and there is access to the backyard for any bike storage.
