Dream getaway

The property location was perfect. The house and amenities were an absolute dream. We stayed on the property for 2 out of our 3 day stay and were never bored. We bought groceries off the island to save money and had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The wildlife, hot tub, deck and sauna was enough entertainment. From the huge deck We saw harbor seals, harbor porpoises and so many gorgeous birds including bald eagles. The house was immaculate and has all the nicest touches including spa robes and heated tile floors. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience

Fantastic home and host!

This property was beautiful. It was everything my husband and I wanted for a quiet get away. The home is within minutes of town, and while there are neighbors close by the space is very private and quiet. The hot tub and sauna were a nice addition. Very clean and comfortable. For dog owners with *picky* dogs - because of the homes location, there is not much of a yard so we did have to walk our dog up the road until she found a spot she was satisfied with for going #2, but that was not a big deal to us at all. The outdoor space is where we spent most of our time and it was so relaxing and peaceful. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfection on the Salish Sea!

We had the best week here! Perfect little house with the most amazing view over the ocean. The house was lovely, the hot tub was perfect, the home was so private, immaculate and clean, and the kindest hosts we've ever worked with. They even helped us reserve a great day kayaking with Outdoor Odyseas. Such a fun day! Thank you Duncan and Karen for an amazing stay on San Juan Island!

Peaceful Paradise

I stayed here over Labor Day weekend with my dog and we had the loveliest time. San Juan Island is such a beautiful place and this was the perfect base camp to explore everything. The home was easy to find which was helpful because I arrived in the dark around 11 pm. All of the instructions to enter and use the amenities were easy to follow. Well stocked kitchen and incredible wine glasses!!! I won't forget this view.

Wonderful

Photos really don’t do this property justice. The house is beautifully decorated and the deck is just incredible. Anything you could possibly want or need has thoughtfully been provided. The owner is very helpful. Be sure to read the owner’s suggestions - We’re sorry we missed out on the Seafood Shed and the recommended walk to town. Only glitch - the access instructions we received from VRBO for the smart screen were not quite accurate.

Amazing Location!

This house was exactly as described, if not better! The decks were amazing and we enjoyed spending time on them all day. The views were fantastic - we did not want to leave! Location was also great. We brought bikes with us and were able to bike downtown in less than 20 minutes. The amenities in the house were perfect and it was fully stocked. Beds were also great and we all slept well! Looking forward to staying again 😊

Exceeded Expectations! Just Wonderful!

This is hands down the nicest vacation home rental we have EVER stayed in! The property is set far back from the road on a very quiet dead-end street, yet a quick 9-minute drive right into Friday Harbor (easy access to restaurants, shops and a grocery store). You can't get any closer to a waterfront property than this. We saw lots of harbor seals and an otter right off of the deck. A bald eagle flew about 20 ft. right over our heads. The interior decor looks like it was the work of a professional decorator - beautiful and consistent throughout. Everything is in excellent, top notch condition. Appliances, linens, kitchen supplies and cookware are all top quality and brand new. Check in was a breeze - all communication with the owners was timely and professional. I would highly recommend this rental! I hope future guests will recognize and be respectful of the quality of everything about this home and continue to keep it in such nice condition.

A Waterfront Oasis!

My husband and I got away for a much-needed short get-away and decided we wanted to keep it closer to home than fly somewhere. This amazing home stood out as the perfect get-away for us on San Juan Island. It's location, size, amenities, cleanliness, and excellent owner communication were second-to-none! The view from the decks were stunning, from sun-up to sunset. We saw eagles and a pod of Orcas swimming by. We had fun exploring the island from Lime Kiln State Park to Roche Harbor. Yet our favorite spot was coming home to a beautiful sunset while relaxing in the hot tub and sauna. This is truly a San Juan Island oasis! Thank you for everything - we had such a wonderful time!

Relax- Cook- Read- Puzzle - Soak- Repeat. 10/10

What can I say that has not already been said? You need to look no further. This is a perfect spot for a couple and their small dog (us). The owners are incredibly responsive, and just after a few conversations, they are all-around great people. The Deck is outstanding—the hot tub and sauna with views of the passage are what you come to the PNW for. A morning cold plunge in the salt water and then a quick warm-up in the sauna is at your fingertips at this property. They have thought of everything when it comes to the house. Bedding is great- kitchen is stocked, there is even a milk frother- which my wife loved. It is secluded but minutes from town. What else? Book it? Your only regret is going to wish you booked it longer. Thank you, D&K, for such a great weekend getaway.

Amazing!

Wow, just wow! An absolutely stunning place to stay. The views and decks provided the most perfect place to enjoy San Juan island. The property had everything we needed, and was so comfortable to stay in. Communication with our hosts was above and beyond what I would expect. 100% would book again!

Fabulous Views

Karen and Duncan's house sets an incredible stage for one of the most dramatic views we encountered on the island. The home had everything we needed to make some few meals. The house is extremely clean, lots of space to put clothing away (though it does lack a closet to hang clothing & could use a few more hooks to make up for that). The bed was comfortable. Views are available from most every room in the house as well as the spacious, layered deck. Overlooking the wide bay view is incredibly soothing and magical. One special touch was the small skylight above the bed you can look at stars throughout the night from (or you can close the shade on it) We would definitely stay again.

The views from this house are amazing and the owners go out of their way with the amenities (Hello! Sauna) and special touches to make this a magical place to stay on San Juan Islands. The house was spotless, kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook and comfortable mattress in the master suite. Little touches like heated floors in the master bath, spa robes, charging stations, binoculars and playing cards make this a homey place to hang as well. Karen and Duncan were extremely communicative and even made a special trip to make sure the propane tank was full before we came.

Recent Stay

The deck was amazing. The jacuzzi and sauna were also very good. The place was very clean. The only part that took some getting used to were the low ceiling areas. Being over 6 feet tall can be a little challenging in some areas. Had to be careful not to bang my head but overall, I’d do it again.

Absolutely perfect

We enjoyed every moment and wish we could have stayed longer! The views from every room are amazing and the house was perfect for our group of 4 (2 adults and teen kids). The pull-out couch was great for the kids to separate and we opted for eating dinners at home to enjoy the decks. I highly recommend a polar plunge at high tide- walk down the stairs into the water and then warm up in the sauna. There was an issue with the hot tub during our stay and the owner communicated about it before we arrived and handled everything right away. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and hope to come back!

Great views but a few minor disappointments

Nice clean house with a great deck. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed happy hours by the fire pit. Internet WIFi was not reliable, going in and out constantly during our stay. Could not find modem to try a reboot. Hot tub needs drain/fresh water fill. Water was not clear and very foamy. Coffee maker did not work our first day due to it requiring a descaling cycle. Including paddles for the kayaks would have been nice.
