At check-in I was told that their parking was full and that I'd need to "go find a parking garage." When I asked where to do that, the desk clerk was of very little help and basically wanted me to "google it". I told her I was unfamiliar with the area and needed some guidance, as Asheville is a very busy and congested area. She then googled it herself and told me to park in a parking garage two doors down. After circling the block and no parking garage to be found (only two public pay to park lots) I returned to the clerk again and (after having to convince her that they weren't garages) was told to park in the garage a little further down the street, only to find that was a private garage for permanent tenants of the building. Once again, back to the clueless clerk who told me to park in one of the public lots and I would be reimbursed. I did so, but had to move my car at 6:00am the next morning to yet another lot because of their time restrictions. For which I had to pay for again and that lot had an even shorter time limit on it that would barely cover me through checkout time. Plus when I went back to the new morning desk clerk, he couldn't reimburse me because his computer was tied up. All of this for a one night stay in a mediocre (at best) room/hotel. Which at least had a nice looking pool but, by the time I finally got settled into my room was already closed at 8pm. Extremely unimpressed with my stay at the Downtown Inn at Asheville NC & will definitely not return!
