Beware of Host
We arrived at this house after a 3-hour flight delay and time spent retrieving a stolen suitcase. Despite having provided arrival details and having sent many emails and WhatsApp messages to one of the hosts with updates on our arrival and delay, we were met at the house by the other host SCREAMING at us FURIOUSLY because we arrived just after 5pm instead of at 4pm. Only after I pointed out all the messages that I had sent to the other host (her daughter) did she calm down.
There is only one coin-operated air-conditioning wall unit in the living room and one in 1 of the 3 bedrooms, so the other 2 bedrooms and the rest of the house do NOT have air-conditioning. We bought a rotating electric fan to provide some relief and donated it to the house.
Also, while there is a small washing machine for clothes, there is no dryer, just a line and a rack and some clothespins for hang-drying. We donated an additional new set of clothespins to the house.
Also, during our stay, there was a short muddy rainstorm that left red dirt all over, including in the pool. Pool cleaners finally came 2 sunny days later. Afterwards, we were told that €100 of our security deposit would be withheld to pay for this cleaning, a fee that had not been previously disclosed. When we questioned the fee, we were accused of causing damage we did not cause to a pipe and a curtain rod we had not seen before as additional justification for keeping our security deposit. Renter beware.
