Recently renovated 3 BR home on beautiful Lake Murray with refurbished private floating dock. Spacious, open floor plan with exceptional lake views throughout. Master BR has king bed & private bathroom. BR 2 has a queen & BR 3 is great for kids with 6 twin beds (bunk style). There is a second full bathroom. Large living room, sunroom, and kitchen are perfect for relaxing and enjoying “the good life.” Four kayaks and paddle boat provided. Wifi, YouTube TV with 4 TVs. 10 min drive to downtown Chapin. 30 min drive to downtown Columbia / USC campus.

Neighbors are permanent residents so please be respectful. My house is not designed to be an event venue so no large parties or events.

Parking available for up to 4 cars (possibly 5) in the driveway. No parking in the street as it is narrow on the peninsula.

No fireworks please as they do damage to the dock and the yard, not to mention the distraction to the neighbors.

Amazing Lake House

My family and I picked this house for our first trip to Lake Murray and it did not disappoint! The house was huge, had all the necessities and all of the extras when it came to water toys/ping pong, etc. The host was extremely accomodating and checked in on us every step of the way. We would 100% stay here again.

Great Lake View

We loved the Sunroom which had a solid wall of windows looking out over the lake. While inside the house we spent most of our time there. The house was clean and very well kept. The host of the property was very attentive and accommodating. Our small children loved playing in the water around the dock. The main thing we can say is that we would definitely book our next vacation there again. .

Lake and wildlife all around

Our trip started out with a little hitch but the host was on it immediately. Matt checked on us until the issue was fixed, great communication. The house is in a perfect area, tucked back in a little cove and close to our marina. Bomb island and Dreher island are a very short ride away. Plenty of deer, geese with their babies and ducks one with her many babies… loved this!

Great stay on the lake

We needed some extra space for family in town for graduation. This house was the perfect place; situated in a lovely cove and offering many options for space to be together. Our favorite place may have been the large dining room table in the sunroom. Thanks for a great stay!

Great vacation house

Great water access and views off a quiet fork on the lake. Matthew was VERY responsive and helpful! The water was fun to swim in and the house was updated and very clean. 2 hang out spots. Kayaks were super fun.

Beautiful house, great stay!

The house was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We needed a house close to family but not exactly WITH them, if you catch my drift. The way the house was arranged and stocked is perfect for families, the boats are great, the ping pong table is great - it was all wonderful for what we needed.

Family Thanksgiving Away from Home

Brining my son home from USC for a short Thanksgiving break is too difficult so it is easier for us to go to him. This house couldn't be more perfect for a family getaway. House is updated, clean, spacious and beds are comfortable. We couldn't believe all of the utensils that were there; we didn't need to bring a thing to cook every night, including Thanksgiving. Matt (the owner) was extremely easy to communicate with and responded almost immediately to our questions, both prior to and upon arrival. The view is beautiful, the location is remote yet convenient to shopping and restaurants and Columbia. Thanks Matt and Jodie!

End of Summer Lake Trip

We stayed here with another family. We had a total of 4 adults and 5 kids, the accommodations were perfect! There was plenty of space for everyone, everyone had their own bed! The bunk room was perfect! The morning view was spectacular! We all thoroughly enjoyed the ping pong table and kayaks! The location is perfect as well, the dock is located in a cove that was not at all busy with boat traffic, and the dock was able to accommodate our 23ft boat. Can not recommend this place enough for anyone looking to get away and enjoy some time on the lake!

Quintessential Lakehouse! --It's was perfect.

-thoroughly enjoyed this well-furnished home! The entire back part of the house is full of windows to enjoy the lake view, which is at the beginning of a cove, so it was very peaceful. We had a mixed-age crowd so it was perfectly appointed for this: young people could play ping-pong & enjoy kayaks & the dock. Adults had several places to gather in conversation-groups of 3-4. There's a large, well-appointed kitchen in the middle with two "bars" so it was easy to set out food and have folks mill about. Fridge was perfect size to hold a lot of food. Gas grill was a perfect size to grill a bunch of burgers. A/C worked great, even in the "sun room" off the back part of house, where most enjoyed hanging out for water-view. Beds were comfortable; bunk room was darling, nice linens & towels, and plenty of tvs for varying tastes. Neighbors across street were friendly. Grocery stores & restaurants are a short drive away. The best part was being able to float on noodles in the lake without worry of being mowed down by boats or jet skis. And (!) b/c it was July, we were entertained nightly with all the Purple Martins that use a nearby island as a stopping point on their migration to South America; it truly was something to behold b/c of their numbers and how they gather, then take flight en masse, swooping over the lake in aerial patterns. They're only active for about an hour at sundown so it was an unexpected serendipity!

My wife, Jodie, and I eventually want to retire on a lake. We searched around the Southeast and could not find a better lake than Lake Murray. This beautiful property is located in a quiet cove with easy access to the main lake and just 10 minutes from two marinas with restaurants. The prior owners used the house as a short-term rental. Our ultimate goal is to remodel the house and retire there. Until we begin that process, we decided to continue to rent it. We had 18 x 5-star reviews for 2022 (using a different rental site than VRBO). The feedback was our guests really enjoyed the location, the dock, the open lake view, the layout of the house that promotes good social interaction, and the ping pong table. The lake view never gets old.
