This beautiful single-family home located in Metro San Diego's historic Uptown district of Mission Hills has available dates to rent in Winter & Spring 2025 (please check our calendar). Located in charming walkable Mission Hills - this bright airy home offers style and privacy for a visiting family of 4, or perhaps two couples traveling together. A well-behaved pet is welcome too. The dramatic Great Room boasts vaulted beamed ceilings, a cozy switch-activated gas fireplace, quality Pottery Barn furnishings, and gleaming hardwood floors throughout. The handsome open Kitchen is stocked with high-end appliances and cooking tools for the chef-enthusiast. There are 2 bedrooms, separated by private hallways, each bedroom with a high quality King bed and accompanying bathrooms with walk-in tiled showers. Enjoy climate-controlled mini-split air-conditioning during hot spells or thermostatically controlled heat as needed, plus the evening warmth of the Living Room's gas fireplace. Out front - relax under the pergola adjacent the stone driveway which provides one on-site parking space. Off the rear dining area open sliding glass doors to enjoy the home's very private garden terrace - an ideal spot for morning coffee or evening wine. Here one can relax and unwind under the stars - enjoying views of the city and nearby canyons. This property's central location is ideal for exploring both Uptown and Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the amazing Zoo. Historic Old Town is 5 minutes down the Washington Street hill. For those who love to walk - stroll a few blocks to upscale food markets, cheese and gelato shops, pizzerias, and specialty restaurants. Picturesque historic homes line the streets of Old Mission Hills while there are dozens of eateries including the city's best bakery and coffee 6 blocks west in Hillcrest. If renting a car - this property is 3 minutes from Interstate 5 with dazzling Coronado (San Diego's best beach) only 10 minutes south, or popular La Jolla 20 minutes north. Most conveniently, one can get to San Diego International Airport in under10 minutes. Excellent house and location
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay within 20 minutes of most everything in San Diego this is your spot. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The property manager, Kent, met us when we checked in and was easy to get a hold of when we had questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and restful
Clean, beautiful, peaceful house in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for sitting on the deck (bring or buy mosquito repellent in summer.) Great location easily accessible to the sights and nearby restaurants and Vons. Kent was kind and accommodating, easy to communicate with. I enjoyed my stay immensely!

All of the communications were timely and very helpful. The place was as described and very comfortable. Kent is a great property manager and gave us a nice tour/intro to the place. Great stay
The house is lovely and was a great fit for two couples. Clean with many amenities, close to many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Short drive to downtown. Kent, the manager, was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Only room for one car but that worked for us. Would highly recommend.

My wife and daughter and I spent a week in this great home. It is exactly as described. It was a perfect location to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer and is 15-20 minutes to just about anywhere you want to go with very little traffic. We would definitely stay here again!

This VRBO was in the perfect location. Close to everything! It was the best spot for two couples who wanted to see the sites. The hosts had everything we needed and more. The deck was awesome and the lime/lemon trees were the best surprises.

Home Away from Home
We flew in from Florida to welcome our son home from deployment and had a few delays with the day of his arrival. Kent worked with us without any hassle and was super accomodating. The house was perfect! Clean, updated, had everything we needed and Kent took the time to meet us and explain how everything worked. We didn't have one complaint. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. It truly felt like home and we would definitely stay here again the next time we are in town. Thank you again Kent!

Very quiet, comfortable, ample dishes, utensils, appliances, nice deck to enjoy wine from the Vons (amazing selection) 2 blocks away, along with cheese from the cheese shop in walking distance. Or enjoy the donut shop across from Vons. Kent was very responsive. All-in-all an outstanding base from which to enjoy San Diego. Or just to hang out.

Perfect Stay
Our family of four adults visited San Diego to attend my nephew's Marine graduation. The home was perfectly located, so we could quickly go back and forth from the airport and events at MCRD, but it was also a short drive to Torrey Pines/La Jolla. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make and enjoy meals on the back patio or dining area. It was also less than a 10-minute walk to restaurants, coffee, etc. The home itself was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully arranged, and beautifully decorated. What a gem!

Great find in Mission Hills
First, this property is located very centrally, adjacent to Hillcrest, as in a 5 minute walk. Kent, the property manager, was very friendly, accommodating, and gracious. The house was super clean. I hesitated before renting it because it's a little more expensive than some other properties I looked at, but I'm so glad I did because it was very comfortable and I could tell the owners take very good care of it. Highly recommended! One small irritation, it was very difficult to figure out the remote controls. There were three of them with about 100 different buttons. By the time I got the TV to work. I totally forgot what I had done to get it working. It would be great to have some written instructions just to get the damn thing on!

Cozy little slice of Heaven
I can’t say enough great things about our stay. Kent was accommodating with an early check-in and met us at the property to go over important details that were helpful. The kitchen was a dream, fully stocked with all the things we needed which was so great! The bedrooms had extra pillows and blankets and the beds were very comfortable. The living room was bright and cozy, we enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings. The deck was so relaxing and offered great views as well as fruit trees that gave me all the limes I needed! We literally felt like we were in a home away from home. There are restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance and the neighborhood was safe and quiet. This was most definitely a home away from home and our best experience so far. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks Kent!

Perfect property for our trip to San Diego. Kent was a fine host and very accommodating. Met us at the house for an early check in and provided all the info we needed for local eats and treats. I can’t say enough about this property beginning with meeting Kent for the check-in and introduction to the home and ending with our easy checkout. The front room is bright and open with a great view. The home was immaculate with a well stocked kitchen that was perfect for our two week stay and the nights we didn’t want to eat out. The 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make an excellent set up for two couples or a small family. Eating out was easy as there are excellent restaurants within walking distance or an easy 10-15 minute drive to other districts. Vons is a quick 5 minute walk. Balboa Park, La Jolla Coastal Walk and Pacific Beach are all a 15 minute drive away. This is a hidden gem and better than pictured. This isn’t available very often, so if it is, grab it!

Guests love its Uptown central location, the high beamed ceilings, open floor plan, and its very private dining terrace with views! The European owners purchased this property as a second home, dividing their time between Germany and San Diego. They are pleased to offer their special home on Eagle Street as a short term rental six months a year. Extensively remodeled, this custom home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a separate hallway, with comfortable King Bed, and an adjacent bathroom w/tiled shower. The spacious Great Room offers an L shaped Italian leather Sectional and Pottery Barn Recliner, Smart TV w/full cable & streaming options, dining table with seating for 6, and open Kitchen with high-end appliances. On a cool night -- enjoy the switch-activated gas fireplace near dining area. On a warm afternoon flip on the Air Conditioning, or open tall sliding glass doors to the private deck with peaceful canyon views. It's an ideal spot for morning coffee or evening meal after an active day at the zoo or nearby beaches. This is a custom built pride-of-ownership home. The owners have upgraded it extensively since purchasing it 10+ years ago. They divide their time between Germany and San Diego, but are always delighted to return to their San Diego "home" on Eagle Street. They love walking to nearby food markets and restaurants like the Red Door, the local ice cream shop on Goldfinch St, or the gourmet cheese shop on Washington Avenue. There are outstanding food markets 2 blocks away, and on Sunday one can visit the huge Farmer's Produce Market in nearby Hillcrest. This prized Uptown location can't be beat! Balboa Park, the Zoo, Downtown, Little Italy, and the Airport can be reached by Uber or a rental car in just minutes.
