Great stay, but...
What's good:
- location of the finca is wonderful - no direct neighbors, within 20 minutes either in Palma or at the sea
- very clean and equipped (toaster, coffee maker, pool towels, toilet paper..)
- rooms logically arranged, each bedroom has its own, very nice bathroom with shower
- pool was very clean and invited to swim
It is truly a great house for large groups, who want to enjoy some peace.
The receipt of the keys worked well. The owner's wife welcomed us, gave a little tour and explained everything to us. We had to take a photo of the electricity meter to see what we have been using after our stay. She said, taking a photo of the gas meter is not necessary, fortunately one of us took one..
Negative was the following:
1. Unfortunately, the supposed double beds consist of two single beds. Turning once or twice resulted in uncomfortable gaps between the 2 beds.
2. Unfortunately we had hardly warm shower water during the 4 days being there. We informed the owners, who sent a technician directly. Unfortunately, the problem was still not solved after we returned to the finca.
3. Be careful: the "hidden" electricity costs. We were quite surprised about the amount, given that we hardly spent any time at the finca during the day and we were very eager to use the power as economically as possible. The kwh price the owner calculated with, was nevertheless correct and common on Mallorca. An indication beforehand would have been nice.
4. What worried us most was the supposed honesty of the owner. When she came to the check-out to check upon the meter readings, she actually showed us a picture on her mobile that was supposed to show the value of the gas meter at the beginning of our rental. Accordingly, we would have used gas for water that did not get warm. Luckily, one of us took a photo of the meter during the first inspection and proved that we did not use anything. We were shocked. Anything but professional!
Due to the fact that we did not have warm water for 4 days, we proposed to reduce the electricity costs by half. From there, the owner became very unfriendly and began to discuss very disrespectfully and sought the blame with us. She did comply with our demands in the end, however, we still had to pay more than what we proposed. We discussed with her for 1 hour and left wondering, why you, as the owner, are not interested in making your guests happy and having them recommend your place.
