The lake is conveniently located up north halfway between Grayling and Kalkaska off M72. It is crystal clear with no weeds, a sandy bottom, and on a clear day you can see 40' down! Launch your boat or PWC at the public access and dock it at the house. Stunning panoramic views of the lake from the spacious multi-level wrap-around deck. Enjoy your favorite water sports during the day and relax during quiet lake hours in the early morning and late evening.. the best of both worlds!
This area is centrally located for year round northern Michigan enjoyment! Pick up a trail map at the gas station down the street and ride your ATV, UTV, Jeep or snowmobiles on the marked state trails nearby. Ride 1/2 mile down the road and catch the Blue Bear and Cranberry trail heads. Our driveway has four parking spaces providing ample space for your truck with trailer and several other vehicles.
Not only does this waterfront home offer sweeping views of the lake it offers serenity as it is nestled in the pines and hardwoods in a very natural setting. The huge multi level deck includes an outdoor dining set, umbrella, patio set, lawn and lounge chairs, barbeque grill, and a gas firepit near the lake. Lights are strung along the entire parameter of the deck and stairs for nighttime ambience and safety.
Grab a hot cup of coffee and watch the beautiful sunrise over the lake in the morning. Wind down with a glass of wine at night and see a sky full of stars and the moon reflecting off the water. Hear the loons on the lake and you might even have a bald eagle sighting! The lake is stocked annually with trout and many other species of fish are abundant. In the winter enjoy ice fishing, ice hockey, and cross country skiing on the frozen lake as well as snowmobiling on the groomed trails nearby.
The inside of the home has a very comfortable open concept and has been beautifully updated with granite counter tops, a granite top kitchen island with stools, stainless appliances, and professionally decorated furniture and furnishings throughout. Floor to ceiling windows and two sets of patio doors in the great room open up to the main deck.
The master bedroom has a queen bed, bedroom two has a queen bed, and bedroom three has a trundle that includes a double bed and a twin. There is a main full bath with tub/shower combo and an en-suite half bath adjacent to the master bedroom. The lower level open area has a queen bed and a futon couch, expandable table and chairs, and a full size washer and dryer. The kitchen is well stocked with basic necessities for prep, cooking, eating, storage, appliances and cleaning. Additional items include an electric can opener, mixer, toaster, microwave oven, dishwasher, 12 cup coffee maker and a bonus Keurig one cup coffee maker! Also included are basic spices, cooking oils, flour and sugar, coffee filters, kitchen towels and wash cloths, paper towels, kitchen trash bags, dish soap, hand soup, new sponges, cleaning/disinfecting products, dishwasher pods and laundry pods. Included in the bathrooms are a hair dryer, toilet paper, facial tissue, disinfecting hand soap, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and a first aid kit. Nearby stores have fishing equipment, live bait and fishing licenses. Some boat and personal watercraft rental facilities nearby offer delivery and launching services (advance reservations are recommended).
Within 1/4 mile there is a restaurant, a bar/restaurant, a gas station, and two small stores that carry light groceries, ice and other household items. You can easily ride your sport vehicles to the gas station to fill up before you hit the trails.
Grayling and Kalkaska are 15 mins down M-72 in either direction and have fruit/vegetable markets, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, veterinary hospitals, bakeries, hardware stores, boat and ATV dealers, auto parts stores, canoe liveries, sporting goods stores, restaurants, etc.
The Manastee and Au Sable Rivers flow through the area and there are canoe liveries and fly fishing rental facilities with optional guides nearby.
Traverse City is 30 mins away and has Turtle Creek Casino, award winning golf courses, a downtown walkable shopping district, a large variety of restaurants, big box stores, outdoor summer concerts and festivals, award winning golf courses, and many other special events during the summer season.
If you travel through Traverse City and head north up the Leelanau Peninsula, there are many vineyards with wine tasting and breweries and roadside stands that sell fresh sweet black cherries. Wine tasting bus tours also run up the peninsula. Some of our personal favorites are the freshly made great lakes smoked whitefish pate', crackers, and locally brewed craft beer that can be found in many of the breweries, specialty stores, and markets. It is also hard to beat a mouth watering burger, steak or brat grilled on our gas barbeque though! We hope you enjoy your stay.
