Asheville Trip

We stayed for a week while volunteering through Samaritan’s Purse. The house was well stocked. The beds were comfortable which was very important after working to help with cleanup from the hurricane.

Comfortable and Quite

Loved everything. Could have used a small chest in the second bedroom and a night stand. The alarm clock didn't work, but I use my phone most of the time. Other than those two minor things, it was a great place to stay at a great price.

Warning

We had looked forward to staying here so much with our two grown children, but when we arrived on 5/25, a family was already there and said they'd been there since 5/23 and wouldn't be leaving until 5/27, the day we were to have it until. They very nicely let me have WiFi and I attempted to call Ms. Kilby, but I had to leave a voicemail. As we were leaving the driveway on our way to the Biltmore for our tour, we saw a lady at another home in the driveway. It turned out to be the host. We explained what we found. She was apologetic and did not know why it had been double-booked through another rental platform, other than the calendars did not synchronize for some reason. She of course said we could get a full refund but in the meantime, we were 4 hours away from home with no place to stay on Memorial Day weekend. We also had no time to look for a place since we had to be at the Biltmore in 90 min. On the way, Ms Kilby messaged me via VRBO to say that VRBO needed to speak to us directly and sent me the number. I called repeatedly and no one answered. I let her know that and she said the number was probably wrong. During all of this, my son was upset for all of us and somehow found a number. After an hour of back and forth on the phone, my son was able to understand from them that they would find us a place for 1 night (2 rooms) for free. We were on our own to search for the 2nd night. SO, ask to see if your rental has already been rented via another platform!

Close to the Biltmore and Asheville

This place felt like a brand new apartment. It was so clean and well furnished. The kitchen has everything you need and is spacious especially considering the size of the place. The dining table has a really nice view and the neighborhood is quiet. Yet somehow it's still close to everything! We met our friends for the weekend and this place was perfectly arranged for two couples. We woke up each morning to the sound of the birds singing, and when we came home at night a friendly chicken wanted to know if we had any snacks. Also there were so many thoughtful touches throughout the house, from the well stocked bathroom to the kitchen with everything from dish soap to aluminum foil and even sugar. Overall a fantastic place to stay.

OFF THE BEAT AND PATH

This unit was a little off the beat & path. which was perfect for us. but still only 10 to 20 minutes to get to many restaurants and activities almost all basic necessities are supplied in a cozy little unit. Little bummed we didn't get to see any black bears but maybe next time. I would definitely stay here again.

Graduation trip

We enjoyed our Asheville stay tremendously. Everything about our place was fantastic. We had plenty of room - 2 very generously sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Anything you would ever need or want - and then some - was there. The place is very convenient - near shopping, near hiking trails, near the many areas of Asheville and just 5 minutes to my grandson’s college - Warren Wilson. Highly recommend!

No fuss, no problems

Close to parks, the supermarket, and Asheville attractions, the place is small and unassuming but has few disadvantages. We thought it was a bit expensive given the size, age, and neighborhood, but it had everything we needed. Communicating was easy and quick. Using the TV and WiFi were similarly simple.

Fantastic place to stay

Where do I begin. Everything you could need was provided. The house was clean, beautifully decorated. It was a very peaceful setting. The host was quick to respond when I had any questions. I would definitely stay here again. Great place to stay if you are going to go to the Biltmore.

Great family weekend

We really enjoyed our stay here! Owners have everything you could possibly need. The drinks and snacks were appreciated after a travel day. We had a great family night playing the board games that were provided as well.

Wonderful stay!

This rental property was great. My daughter and I travelled to Asheville over Thanksgiving week and stayed at this property with my daughter's cat. It was an awesome rental property and had every detail taken care of down to providing q-tips and toothbrushes if they were needed. The regrigerator had sodas and the kitchen had snacks which were a pleasant addition. The duplex was clean and very nicely appointed. Sheila Kilby is a wonderful host. Thank you. We give you 5 stars. Cozy and Comfortable

The property was fairly new. The house had everything that you needed for one night or several days, from q-tips to soap and shampoo, even stocked with new tooth brushes just incase you forgot yours. Was a rural area, yet only a few minutes to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville. Would definitely stay again!!

Sugar Bear Simply Amazing

Beautiful property. About 11 miles from Asheville and 7 from Black Mtn- visit both. Very clean. Loved the bear theme. Lots of attention to detail- amenities- snacks, toiletries, dog stuff. Sheila was amazing to communicate with. Relaxing and great stay. Choose this country location. Comfy beds.

The place is clean , beds are very comfortably and stock with pretty much everything! The best part was as we were hang out a bear walk by the back sliding glass door! Loved it!

Excellent stay in Asheville

We had an excellent stay at this property with our son and 2 dogs. The house is conveniently located to all points in Asheville. It was clean and well furnished. We saw a mama bear and her cubs just after we arrived just out the door, so it's important to keep you pups on a leash while there. Communication with the owner was excellent and I would definitely stay here again.
