Unser Anwesen liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend (mit dem Meer auf der einen Seite und Bäumen und dem Stadtpark auf der anderen Seite) mit Blick auf den Eingangskanal zu Kodiaks größtem Bootshafen, in dem viele der 'Deadliest Catch'-Boote beheimatet sind. Nur wenige Minuten von der Innenstadt von Kodiak entfernt, sind unsere Häuser genau nach Süden ausgerichtet, und Sie haben einen spektakulären Blick auf das Meer. Entspannen Sie sich bei einer Tasse Tee und beobachten Sie den Sonnen- oder Mondaufgang. Boote fahren vorbei - zusammen mit Seeottern, Adlern, Seelöwen - und springen sogar Lachs.

Die Unterkunft ist von Gemüse- und Blumengärten umgeben, darunter der schwer fassbare blaue Himalaya-Mohn. In unserem gesamten Haus finden Sie viele Beispiele von Marions Kunstwerken, darunter Fotografien (auf Leinwand gedruckt) und Mosaikstücke. Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, dass Weißkopfseeadler in der Nähe kreischen oder Luftstöße von Seelöwen, Buckelwalen oder Killerwalen ausatmen, während sie vorbeischwimmen.

Die Apartment-Suite hat einen eigenen Eingang und besteht aus 3 Schlafzimmern: Ein Queen-Schlafzimmer und 2 Zimmern mit zwei Einzelbetten in den Zimmern. Die Zimmer mit Einzelbetten haben auch einen schönen Waschtisch. Das Farbschema ist natürlich und einladend und jedes Zimmer ist mit einem individuell bemalten Wandgemälde dekoriert. Die Zimmer haben Zugang zu einem gemeinsamen Wohn- und Essbereich und einer komplett ausgestatteten Küche. Hier finden Sie unser hausgemachtes Müsli. Wir freuen uns, das Rezept zu teilen. (Viele Gäste sagen, es ist das Beste, was sie je hatten. Es ist übrigens ein tolles Geschenk.)

Die Dusche, das Waschbecken / der Waschraum und die Toilette befinden sich alle bequem in separaten Räumen. Diese Apartment-Suite ist ideal für unabhängige Reisende, Geschäftsleute, Familienurlauber oder Gruppen. (Wir vermieten auch ein Deluxe-Gästezimmer).

Amazing views and awesome hosts!

Marion and Marty were great hosts (enjoyed the homemade granola and cranberries!) and the property was perfect for our stay of 4 adults with lots of space. We enjoyed the water view and had an eagle outside one of the bedroom windows almost every day. The location of the property is a good central location making it easy to get anywhere quickly. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing Marion & Marty again.

Family Kodiak Vacation

Enjoyed our stay, very comfortable with gorgeous views. Kitchen worked great to cook breakfast with eggs, milk, juice ...etc stocked in fridge. Marion & Marty were very informative for activities, places to eat lunch/dinner & local jewels. Would stay here again!

A Serendipitous experience in Kodiak

My wife and I have just returned from a 5 night stay at this property. It was all we could have hoped for and more. The views are spectacular, the furnishings are upscale and the hospitality couldn't have been better. We highly recommend a stay there.

When you're there you feel like you are family.

Stayed at the property for a week. Marion was easily accessible through text and emails and responded promptly. She gave great information about local events and places to see in Kodiak Property was clean and well kept. Kitchen was stocked with basic breakfast items. Everybody loved Marion's granola. We also loved her puffin pictures and as we thumbed through one of the books realized that she was a professional photographer. The garden was beautiful. There's a huge variety of flowering plants and greens. You can get some tips by subscribing to her Youtube channel. Marion offered salad greens but were not able to take advantage because we were always on the go. We had a good view of the river from inside and an even awesome view from the deck and garden. Marion was very friendly and accommodating. We felt like we were family. We left Kodiak with many fond memories taking with us some of Marion's granola and a filet of smoked salmon which she generously provided. :-)

Our wonderful stay in Kodiak

Incredible views of the Pacific Ocean ( ocean front party). Rental is not well suited for cooking in the facility and the main great room is rather small. However the views are outstanding!

We loved our stay! Marion and Marty are exceptional hosts and were very attentive to our kids.

The living space was thoughtful and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the homemade granola, the opportunities for our kids to do some art, and the genuine conversations with our hosts. The is one of the best rental experiences we have had on any of our travels.

Great Stay

This place is really great, we got lucky with really nice weather but it would have been pretty cramped with 2 small kids if the weather wouldn't have cooperated. There isn't anywhere to really sit other than the dining room table and beds. The owners are really nice and accessible and my kids loved going through the hoop house and garden. My kids were still in school and were supposed to be attending classes but the information sheet said to please not stream anything on the internet so we missed a bunch of classes. Not a huge deal, but don't expect to have strong internet - I had to work during the trip and found it challenging to attend meetings as well. The deck in the picture is also not attached to this listing, it is the owners deck. It is open for use but I found the listing a little bit unclear in that regard. Overall, this is a great place and I would stay there again. Thank you so much for the stay, we really enjoyed it.

A piece of Paradise

The generosity and grace of host Marion Owen is unparalleled! Marion & Marty have a magical spot on the edge of the channel, with a beautiful flower and vegetable garden and the house filled with 35 years of Marion's incredible photos. Recharge on the deck while watching birds, boats, floatplanes, or take a walk to the beach or town. I grew up in Kodiak and my family is still there, and I will be back to stay at the Cliff House!

Great for fishermen

Marion and Marty are gracious host and our party of six all enjoyed our stay for a few days of fishing. Having a garage to get in and out of waders and hang them out to dry for all six of us was a bonus!! The house is clean and the view fantastic!!!!

Property is described as 4 Br and 2BH -- it is 3Br, and ONLY 1 bathroom.

We were a party of 6, 2 couples and two singles; we selected the property because of the 4 bedrooms, and were willing to tolerate TWO bathroom -- because there were no option with 3 Bathroom. Finding out that it was only a 1 bathroom (one shower, and one toilet) was a big disappointment and very inconvenient -- We decided to put up with the issue and look to enjoy all other activities in Kodiak. I have used many Vacation Rentals properties in many parts of the world; this is the only time that the property description is different from the actual property. HomeAway/VRBO should not allow this to happen. The owner said that they have never realized that the description in the HomeAway/VRBO site was not the actual 3 bedroom and 1 bathroom, and that no other customer had complained. I have to say that the owner did offer a money compensation, which I dint accept because that wouldn't solve the problem. Hopefully this review will force the owners and HomeAway/VRBO to correct the description.

Highly recommended

Marion and Marty were awesome hosts! Kodiak is an amazing island. We fished with happy hooker charters and caught halibut and rock fish. Then we explored the outback with adventure atvs. We saw animals and beautiful country. Unfortunately it was too early for stream fishing.

We could have moved in permanently

Our family of six includes 4 daughters ages 16-22. We arrived in Kodiak late on a Saturday evening to find the apartment clean and inviting, exactly as we anticipated. Marion was there to greet us and show us where things were. The bedrooms were cozy and well represented by the photos on this site. The kitchen and living area were comfortable and the fridge was stocked. Marion loves to bake surprises and more than once we were rewarded with goodies when we returned from our days events. This apartment was the perfect place for us to get away and relax for a week while we tried to "live like the locals". I'm afraid we did sort of stand out in a good way though, and when asked where we were staying we proudly said "we are staying with Marion and Marty Owen". That information was invariably met with admiration and comments like "then you are well cared for!". The Owens are superb hosts and made us feel extremely welcome.They were never intrusive but were always very ready to answer questions and give suggestions. Mornings as we were getting ready to leave Marion would pull out one of her waterproof Kodiak maps and point out things to see and places to go along the way and then would fold the map and tell me to take it with me, "but be sure to bring it back" was always part of the instructions. She needs these maps to send with future guests. I liked the map so much that after returning hers I went down to the Visitors Center and purchased one of my own. While on Kodiak we enjoyed walking to downtown from this property. The highlights included Sea Hawk air flight out to see the bears , as well as a dinner cruise on the yacht owned by Marty and Marion. One daughter and I were able to spend some time going out with Marion to photograph landscapes and wildflowers,this is very worthwhile if you are serious about learning to improve your photography skills. There are countless beautiful places to hike and take pictures. Be sure to go to the WW II museum at Fort Abercrombie State Park. Recommended places to eat include Henry's Great Alaskan Restaurant for a sit down dinner. Java Flats has wonderful sandwiches and beverages and cookies in a very quaint and beautiful setting. Monk's Rock Coffee House is excellent for soup, salad, coffee, tea and pastries. Sparrows has wonderful pizza, if the restaurant is crowded then take it back to the apartment you will be glad you did. We were so happy with our week on Kodiak and staying in this property was the best part.

Exceptional B&B

My wife and I do not normally stay in B&B's. Comfort and privacy, and alergy to feathers usually means we try to stay in nicer hotels. We were traveling with 2 other couples and the Cliff House B&B was highly recommended by the great folks at Sea Hawk Air. We took a chance and were very glad we did. Super clean rooms, privacy for all six of us, great granola, fresh baked cookies and muffins, fruit. Marion was extremely helpful. Made late dinner reservations, secured the only rental van on the island, and gave great tips on sites to see. Had a great time in Kodiak and will certainly go back and will certainly stay with Marion and Marty. Now our B&B issue will be to find one as great as this one!

A place to relax and catc...

A place to relax and catch your breath. Marion and Marty are lovely hosts and their spotless B&B is a perfect respite from the real world. We have had several oppor...

We have had several opportunities to stay in the Owen's B&B in the last two years. We always feel welcome and the rooms are very comfortable and attractive. Marion keeps the refrigerator and cookie jar better stocked than we have seen at any other B&B. The views and gardens can't be beat. Their knowledge of the island has made our visits very entertaining. We look forward with keen anticipation to our next trip.

To experience the real Alaska you have to experience Kodiak - and there is no better place to do this Marty and Marion's B&B. They know all the secrets, be it hunting, fishing, bear viewing or just touring. The consumate hosts! Let them help eith your arrangements. Great for a family, small group or just the two of you. On our trip to Kodiak (August 2009) we had the pleasure of staying at Marion and Marty's B&B. The Cliffhouse turned out to be perfect for our needs. Marion and Marty are very knowledgeable when it comes to Kodiak's must see's and do's. Marty and Marion Owen are long-time residents of Kodiak, Alaska. Marty is the local harbormaster for the City of Kodiak. His family roots go back to the 1930's, which means he has lots of stories. Marion is an award-winning, professional photographer with over 25 years of published images.

A chef, writer, and passionate gardener, she also co-authored the New York Times bestseller, Chicken Soup for the Gardener's Soul. She teaches online classes, has a YouTube channel, and writes a weekly garden column.

Best of all, they enjoy showing guests the best of Kodiak Island.
