Home on the Isle - Dog Friendly!

Our home is a beautifully cozy 1940s Craftsman located just minutes from all the best that Galveston has to offer. A few blocks drive to both the Strand and Seawall, this home boasts multiple modern upgrades while maintaining much of its historic charm, such as portions of the original cabinetry, hardwood floors, and interior doors with glass door knobs.

When you aren't out enjoying all the sights on the island, kick back and relax in the cozy living room and watch your favorite show on the 58 inch cable TV. The updated eat-in kitchen is beyond bright and spacious and stocked with all the amenities of home, including a dishwasher and garbage disposal. The adjacent formal dining room seats an additional six, perfect for hosting family gatherings! The built-in hallway cabinet contains games and puzzles for family entertainment.

Bedroom 1 features a queen-sized bed with a set of twin bunks, complete with a nightstand, chest of drawers and a 32 inch Smart TV. Please note top bunk weight limit is 150 pounds. Bedroom 2 features a king-sized bed, nightstand, chest of drawers, and full-sized dresser and mirror (not pictured). Both bedrooms are equipped with a closet. An additional twin bed is located in the sunroom off of the kitchen.

The bathroom yields tons of storage space and is where you will find both bath linens and beach towels, a hair dryer, extra toilet paper, and a first aid kit. Multiple drawers are available for storing your personal items out-of-sight.

The large, private fenced backyard is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor entertaining and/or travelling with their dogs. Tons of room for both kids and pets to run and play. After a day at the beach, relax and enjoy a cold beverage on the huge covered back porch under the patio lights, all while watching the game on the outdoor TV! Dine at the outdoor table when the weather is pleasant. Laundry facilities and supplies are accessible to guests and located in the garage, as are beach items such as boogie boards and extra chairs, outdoor table umbrella, etc. This area is also perfect for storing empty coolers or hanging up sandy beach towels. There is also a new outdoor shower. Pet waste bag dispenser and bags provided at laundry entrance, we do respectfully ask that you clean up after your dog. Mini refrigerator in laundry room for overflow storage if needed!

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not permitted. Day guests are not permitted without obtaining owner's permission. Renter must provide names and ages of everyone in their party, and primary renter must be one of them. We cannot accept bookings longer than 14 days. Lovely Accommodation
We came to Galveston, two old friends (in our late seventies) to enjoy a couple of days of fishing. We wanted a place which would allow us to enjoy a couple of after-dinner cigars and cognac on the porch. As it turned out we never did smoke those cigars but it was nice to have had the opportunity to do so. Kelly, our host, has been extremely responsive and accommodating. This is a very comfortable house with lots of amenities.

Anniversary Retreat
Our 42nd anniversary! We decided to visit Galveston. I located Kelly’s darling rental and was thrilled to see the back yard. We bring our dog and want to see what kind of outdoor space he will have. The house was immaculate looked like the ad. Decorated cute but livable especially with a big dog. Everything you could possibly need was there even treats for Nemo. We would highly recommend this rental.

Quick getaway
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home!! We made a quick “about to head back to school” trip with our two college aged kids and four legged baby. This house was perfect! Centrally located to all the things we wanted to do on the island. Plenty of room for 4 adults. Everything is very well organized and easy to find. The decor has a beachy feel without being overboard. Beds were very comfortable. The backyard was perfect for our dog. The host thought of everything! Even things we didn’t think we needed (like ziplock bags we used for our shell collection). She also provided a handy snack basket for our arrival…and had treats for our dog! Great communication and a welcome book with restaurant selections and activities complete with contact information. Book the Home on the Isle! You will not be disappointed!!

Clean, cozy, charming and pet friendly place to stay close to the beach
This was one of the most pleasant VRBO experiences we’ve had. The home is clean (smells great!), neatly organized, and very well equipped with everything you might need or want for a weekend getaway. Communication from the host was excellent. We really appreciated there not being a weight/size limit for pets so that we could bring our large golden retriever. The biscuits waiting in a baggy in the elevated dog dish with water bowl was an especially nice touch. She happily found them immediately! The fenced back yard was great for sitting outside with her, too. The house is in a quiet neighborhood even if the street is a busier one at certain times of the day. We recommend backing into the driveway to ensure the safest exits when you leave. We would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic place to stay in Galveston!
My husband and I, along with our little dog, came to Galveston for a long weekend getaway and booked this cute little place. The house was so cozy, and extremely clean. The kitchen was well stocked, we had plenty of towels, the beds and furniture were comfy, and the backyard was perfect for our dog. We really felt at home here. I highly recommend staying at this fantastic little house if you're traveling with family and pets. We'll definitely be back! We had a great stay.

Kelly's Arts and Crafts home was a wonderful place to stay. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked through the front door until we departed at the end of our stay. The interior renovation was very well done with a good blend of original and updates.The house, and especially the kitchen, were well and appropriately stocked (the best we've stayed at!).The back yard with outdoor shower, was nice, tidy, and well maintained. Overall, a great place to stay.

A Quite Relaxing Get Away
We arrived at the house much later than we had hoped. Road construction, traffic and frankly, Texas is a BIG state when you're driving. Anyway, when we finally arrived, we were extremely impressed. The house is exactly as pictured, clean, welcoming, and comfortable. My first impression was "magical." A little dramatic I know, but it was a long drive. And because we travel with our small dogs, backyard security is extremely important to us. No worries, the yard was fully enclosed with no gaping escape holes for Houdini exploit. The beds are comfortable and inviting. The kitchen seemed well supplied but aside from a couple sandwiches for lunch, we tend to eat out more on the road. The supplied morning coffee was suprisingly good. Chris called us a couple of days in to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, which it was. If we have a chance to visit Galveston again, we wouldn't hesitate to book another stay.

Comfortable with nice amenities
The house was clean and comfortable with extra touches that enhanced our stay. We particularly enjoyed the fenced-in and secure backyard for the dogs and the covered patio with a TV, fan, and lights. The owners provided snacks for the 2 legged visitors as well as for the 4-legged ones. Everything was well-marked and easy to find, and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay (including indoor and outdoor dog bowls).

Great Galveston island property. 8 minutes from the beach. Enjoyed our stay. AC struggled, never got below 82 during the day, 76 at night, while outdoor temps were HI 93 LO 83. Found mold in game cabinet.

Great family trip before sending our kiddo off to college.
We always do a quick weekend get away before our kids start college during the weekend of move in. This house was perfect. Renters had a warm welcome basket (for us and our dogs) and all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with owner was immediate. Beautiful dog friendly home.

I am a native Houstonian and started coming to Galveston as a kid, then as a teenager. There is always something to do here, even if it's just walking the dog on the beach at sunset. My husband and I have a daughter, a tweenager, who loves going to Pleasure Pier and Moody Gardens and doing fun things like Magic Carpet Golf, the 4-D theater, ghost tours, and experiencing the multitude of events that go on here on the island. We also have a very special Bernese Mountain Dog named Leia who lives for romping on the beach and catching beads during Mardi Gras parades. One thing we truly love about Galveston is the fascinating albeit tragic history of the town, and it's resiliency; the stories are both chilling and inspiring. There are also so many fantastic restaurants to enjoy, in particular for seafood lovers which we are! After multiple stays at other VRBO properties, all of which were admittedly great experiences, we were fortunate to have the means to purchase our own place in Galveston. Even though our real "home" is relatively close-by, coming here always feels like a real island vacation escape. Ultimately when we retire we hope to be full-time islanders. We are beyond pleased to share our home with you and hope you love it as much as we do.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We looked at quite a few homes, but none we felt were remotely as nice as this one. We loved that it was updated yet many original features remain intact, like one bank of kitchen cabinetry and those quirky glass door knobs. The ceilings in some rooms are truly eye-catching - the dining room, kitchen, and rear sunroom all have unique and beautiful ceilings. The street itself is quite pretty being lined with big old trees. Having a big fenced backyard like ours, along with a big covered back porch, isn't exactly common here, and we spend a lot of time outside when the weather is warm. While we aren't located "on the beach" we can be there in five minutes, or anywhere else on the island for that matter, and we have not regretted choosing this location one bit!
