Upon arrival you will drive up a steep drive, but it flattens out and the front of the cabin beckons to sit and swing and look at other cabins, but not much of a view out the front. Two levels of outdoor decks give you up close and personal views of trees, and at night, you can make out city lights. Everything you need is there, towels, fresh clean linens, fluffy comforters, normal hotel amenities even little shampoos and soaps. That said, we did encounter a very hot living room that read 80 degrees upon arrival. We set the thermostat to cool, unpacked, left for dinner, came back and it was 79 degrees. After my investigation I figured out that squares of batt insulation were stuffed down into vents in the floor. No cool air could cool the room, vents were completely blocked. I removed those, and the temp finally started to cool the room.....by morning it was cooled off but it made for an uncomfortable first night. The ice machine is frozen up, not working or dispensing. Wonderful property - just a couple of things that might have been overlooked when opening up from over winter - that made it a little tough. The porches were a little messy with decorations and clutter, but it didn't affect us. The Schlage door lock - oh my goodness what a pain. We get it, you can't have keys floating around, we get it. But we had a hard time getting the code to take at times, but it was even more tricky just locking it to leave. I do love how quiet your location was. I heard absolutely no road noise the first or second night of my two night stay. We felt safe and secure. I could not get the tv in the basement bedroom or the basement bunk room to work. The upstairs tvs worked perfectly, so it wasn't operator error. On a scale of 1-10, my stay would be a 7 because we paid a lot of money per night and had yet had several issues. It's not like we can go to a front office/desk and get maintenance man and I didn't see how anyone via text could do anything to help us with the cooling issue - we just dealt with it ourselves. So, reach out to me, I'd like to hear from you as the host.
