I reserved and paid for the property from Dec 1st to Jan 3rd.
I advised the property manager that I might have to leave on Dec 27th and asked him if he would refund me the money for the nights I would not stay on the property. He agreed to do so if he receives a booking from Dec 27th to the 3rd. He modified my booking from Dec 1st to the 27th on VRBO to allow other people to book. He was supposed to give me until Monday of the following week to confirm if I would be staying or leaving. On Monday, when I told him I would be staying, he said that he had already booked a reservation for the 29th and that I had to leave. I agreed to go. The 29th came, I left, and the property manager never initiated a refund despite all the messages from VRBO requesting him to do so. Therefore, he got paid twice by 2 parties for the same dates. I received a message from him saying that he was charging me $200 for the following: ruined bed sheets, missing bath towels, bad odor in the home (he said that I had burnt incense in the house, which I have never done in my life), extra trash in the backyard (I explained to him that the garbage pickup company only picked up 1 bag of trash a week which is the reason why the trash accumulated)
Bear in mind that he did not provide evidence of anything he is accusing me of doing (no photo of the ruined bed sheet and bath towels). He collected his $200 from the refund,
I currently have a complaint filed against him with VRBO. It is incredible how people can lie just to make an extra buck.
Stay away from this property and the manager. Not worth the stress. There are way better options in Katy.
